ProTech was the electrical contractor on our new home build. We had frustrations from the beginning…read morewith poor planning and lack of knowledge about the spec'd fixtures and electrical equipment. There was continued staff turnover at ProTech with little oversight or on-site management which resulted in many errors. As problems and questions arose, we were repeatedly asked to solve them for ProTech - even basic questions about fixture install that we're spec'd at the beginning of the project. We spent countless hours researching and resolving issues for ProTech to try and keep things moving forward. Issues continued throughout the project and included lighting configuration mistakes, missed circuits and inconsistent wiring through the house as it was installed by different crews. It was so difficult to get things done, we eventually gave up and removed some items to simplify scope given the lack of knowledge. Quality issues such as damaged wiring and missing circuits were only discovered after the walls were closed making troubleshooting and repair very expensive. ProTech abandoned the project after billing us 80% which resulted in us spending tens of thousands more than our original contract with another contractor to fix ProTech's mistakes and finish the project. In my opinion, with so many quality electricians in the area, I wouldn't risk hiring ProTech for anything other than the most basic tasks.

I think this speaks volumes about the company. They closed my claim without finishing the repair or my knowledge. The service call record (as in the email below) indicates they looked at my right oven (I have a double oven), but it was the left oven with the issue. I was present when the service tech was there. He quickly diagnosed the issue (I believe he said it was a faulty ignition pan that was firing to early, and said he would need to order a new one). The truth is that this company has trouble following through with service calls. They've wasted enough of my time with Pro-serve, but I suggest you never let them start wasting yours. (email below) Dear Mr. Waters, Thank you for contacting us today. We apologize for the inconvenience and intend to clarify our records and the Home Warranty service procedures. Below is a copy of our records regarding our last visit to your home: **10/30 BM out-Went to home spoke w/ customer about gas smell. Found gas smell to be in right oven. BM found igniter works, it just takes about 15 to 20 seconds to ignite burner. No gas leak and oven works within specs. No deductible, no repairs needed at this time. If there are problems with the oven at this time, the procedure is to place a work order with your home warranty; and they will assign us or another company to diagnose the unit under warranty. Regarding parts being ordered that would be up to your warranty company in this case. We suggest you contact them for coverage inquiries. Our technician communicates findings to them, and they are responsible for discussing their options with you. I apologize if this is the case and recommend contacting them to inquire about your coverage and/or place a work order for the stove issue. At this time, in our end, this claim is closed with American Home Shield; if you would like a technician to inspect, diagnose and orders parts for this repair without a work order from your home warranty company, you would be responsible for any repair parts & labor charges. The cost was very reasonable. On the day of the work he was on time had pulled all the permits got the work done in a timely manner cleaned up the area. It was awesome. He took video and pictures which was sent to my son so he knew exactly what I've been worked on and showed him the finished work. I would definitely recommend him for any of you like to come over. This was after I had been responsive and clear that the billing was in dispute. I chose Smiley Electric because of their high Google rating, but my experience matches the lower Yelp rating. They asked for 50% down which it was no problem and then after the work was half done, they sent me an unauthorized charge on the quote and expect pay.
