Thomas took on an electrical job I can only describe as one of biblical proportions! Adnara Equestrian Center is a boarding facility in Aurora that had previously been owned by a do-it-your- self kind of guy using duct tape and bailing twine. The wiring in the main boarding barn was a hodge podge of disaster waiting to happen. After meeting with several electricians to assess the scope of the job I chose to work with Classic Electric because Thomas had a can-do attitude and assured me the end product would be both up to code and permitted. Thomas Adams came to my home for an estimate on some work I needed done. He was told ahead of time what needed to be done but after he arrived he informed me within 5 minutes that there was too much liability and he did not want to accept the job. Fine. However when I asked him to explain the problem he refused to do so and left. This left me very concerned that perhaps there was a safety issue in my home. Very rude and unprofessional. At the very least he should of provided me some information to help me understand what the issues were so I would know how to proceed. read more

While all of the above customers have Thomas Allen five stars, it is inconceivable how this person just left my home and did the direct opposite of all the above reviews! I saw him pull up to our house on time for our 8am appointment, waved at him, and then waited 10 minutes for him to come in. He did not, so I went back out in the rain and walked towards his truck (white ford with no company logo) and asked "are you Thomas?" He got out the truck and stood in the doorway and said, "yea I am," "I was just calling some inspectors first, and I'll be right there." I stated that he could park on our property but he declined. I came inside, out of the rain, and waited 2 more minutes before he knocked on the door. I went to open it, we said hi, shook my hand, and then walked to the problem. It's like a 1950's Wadsworth electrical panel, that took Thomas all of 45 seconds to say, "I've seen about 3 or 4 of these in my 20yrs of experience and this is outside the scope on my abilities." "I don't even want to give you a bid for the job." Speechless, I walk away and sat down. I ask him, " are you sure?" He looks at me with a frown, "yup!" Then he thanks me for the opportunity, shakes my hand again and walks out. This is incredible! What kind of professional with "20yrs of experience" walks in and out with only one solution I forgot to mention... Call another electrical company. This guy is a sham! In addition, he quoted me a price over the phone just days before he showed up. So what went wrong I wonder? Not to mention that he we recommended by Bob... You know the "Around the house with handyman Bob" radio talk show host (FM KXL101). Nevertheless, Thomas is Not the guy you wanna go with, especially if you're African American! Which I am. I also served this country for 6yrs with an honorable discharge, hold a Biz degree, and 4 classes from a MA, and am self employed with consistent contracts to pay my bills including contractors working on our house. I got 3 estimates from different electrical companies and I only wanted Thomas to do the work because I could tell that as the owner and master electrician he has the most knowledge. Also, when I interviewed him for the job he was the most enthusiastic about my home and the project. He helped me design the lighting styles and layout and I am very happy with how it all turned out. I wanted to add some additional switches and plugs at the last minute. Thomas said he couldn't think that fast and wasn't sure he could do a good enough job. I decided against all the new plugs and outlets and asked that he complete the original job as bid. He decided he wouldn't complete the job because he didn't trust me that I wouldn't try to add things back in. He refused the complete the job as bid and left me hanging, even though I told him that would set me back at least a month. Maybe I hurt his feelings. Who knows, but I would never use someone again who wouldn't complete a job as original bid. read more

GREAT service! I needed to have lighting installed after a remodel and called 4 electricians. Not only was Thomas the only one who called me back, he returned my call promptly and set up an appointment for the next week. He showed up when he said he would, called ahead to confirm, and got back to me later the same day with a quote for services. The work he did was excellent - he wired and hung one large chandelier on an 11' cord, and wired and hung two pendant lights. Some of the work was tricky to figure out due to existing walls, ceiling heights, etc. but Thomas was able to determine how to best (and safely) accommodate our needs. Thomas specializes in working without leaving holes in drywall, and true to his word, he was very careful not to leave us with any drywall patching to do.
