DO NOT BOOK - major app issues and Support issues Although i didn't get to experience the cleaners, its disappointing to see the company has many flaws with their booking and charging processes. I booked a week in advance, gave my card, and was set to get a one-time deep cleaning service. Complications happened 24 hours before the booking with the company claiming they were unable to place the card charge in pending. I had gone into the app as asked by multiple support reps and the app wouldn't update my card. I attempted to reach out with this concern, receiving no feedback before the app forced a cancellation and a $70 fee. I contacted the company and was met with a reply that it wasn't their fault. Although not human error, this was a huge app error and was uncalled for. Now I'm waiting to hear back if they can send a team out before 10am and if i will be refunded/ apply the cancellation funds to my cleaning. Mind you, i am not available after today until the next two months. This has been communicated verbally. TL;DR Support and the app are not the best and can use major improvement. I've tried NW Maids several times and I have to say it's inconsistent at best. Perhaps they have a lot of turnover, but they have huge issues. I was drawn in by the fact that booking was super easy and understanding what I was paying for was straightforward. First time, I used them was for an apartment move-out. It looked okay to me and I got cleared by the landlords so this felt like a plus. Second time, I wanted a "deep clean" with oven cleaning for my two-bedroom. No good. They sent one person who was absolutely kind and respectful, but guess what was in no way set up for success. She wasn't really able to clean anything well. I reported this, they sent out for a re-clean. This time they sent two great gals and they were incredible! A draw. Third time, tried to get the same gals who did a great job and was told they left the company. No good. Delayed booking as a result. Booked again. FULL-ON disaster. After four hours, the woman had cleaned one small bathroom, one bedroom, and was still working on the second bathroom. Kitchen and floors...UN-TOUCHED. We just told her we didn't want to have her finish. After a bit of back and forth with the company, we got a refund. I would just pass on this spot. They clearly have issues with consistency and staffing. NOTE: The services were booked by either me or my roommates, so in all fairness, it may not have been immediately apparent to NW Maids that they had an issue. read more

When the cleaner left I went back through my house and found numerous surfaces still covered in dust, plenty of grime covering large areas and it seemed like entire rooms were skipped. I gave this info to the company, including that I had gone back and spent a few hours cleaning to fix the areas missed and their response was $25 off my service. That told me how much they cared about the bad job that was done. I won't use them again. read more

Update from original post: NW Maids solved my issue by having someone come to my home and redo the cleaning. In order for that to happen I had to personally take pictures of everything that I was unsatisfied with (which was the whole house) and email them to customer service. The response and reschedule was quickly taken care of. Moved from 1 star to 3 stars. I just had a "deep clean" done in my house in preparation to have regular cleaning scheduled. However, I think I'll pass on using this cleaning service. They didn't even mop the floors! They didn't clean the baseboards either which I had specifically said I wanted done when I signed up in the first place. I called Northwest maids to explain that I was not happy but nobody answered the phone. I think I'll choose another cleaning service and I would not be recommending these people. Update: So the maids came back and did a Nother cleaning since I was not satisfied with the first cleaning. They were wonderful people and meticulously went through their list of issues I wanted taken care of. However, I would still not preferred to use this company because of their business model. I am a stay at home mom and I also clean and my dad's house since he has ALZ. I know what Cleaning should look like. They are probably fine to do a move out clean or anything that requires no more than two hours. Anyone who usually likes things to be clean knows that a deep cleaning takes about four hours. I've tried several cleaning companies and have had the same issue with each: either lack of thoroughness or missing spots. We have a 760sq ft condo with 90% laminate flooring so it's pretty crazy that cleaning teams have a hard time here. I had the same issue with NW maids at first.They recommended that I add 'deep cleaning' for the first appointment, so I said sure, that makes sense. After the cleaning crew left, I was not happy. So I took pictures of the dirt and dust left behind, the unmopped floors and the dirty counters. Emily said they will make it right and rescheduled my cleaning. The second team was wonderful, and is now my monthly cleaning team. If you have problems, call NW maids and they WILL make it right. read more

NW Maids was my first experience with a cleaning service and it left much to be desired. I scheduled a move out cleaning for my old place and a move in cleaning for my new one. The move in cleaning was very mediocre. If I had scheduled it well enough before moving in I would've requested a re-clean for each of the areas they missed, but my home was covered in boxes the next day so it wasn't worth the extra hassle. Our move out cleaning was a train wreck. We communicated clear instructions for how to access our unit with NW Maids, but the cleaner struggled for a long time to use the callbox. After they figured out building access, I received a phone call that the cleaner said our unit was locked (it wasn't) and that we'd be responsible for a $70 charge if they couldn't gain access. I asked the agency to verify that he was at the correct apartment number, which they insisted he was. Nearly an hour later it turns out that they were indeed at the wrong apartment. After all of that they did a half assed job, and now we need to schedule a re-clean. I appreciate that they have a happiness guarantee, however I hired a cleaning service because I thought it would remove some of the hassle associated with moving, but instead it has created another thing for me to be figure out and caused major headaches. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for cleaning services - I wish I had. read more

post construction detailing in Clyde Hill. got an immigrant husband and wife team cleaning a 3000 sqft post remodel house. office's prompt w/ calls and scheduling, so decent management's in place. Job done exactly as instructed. workers communicate issues before proceeding/rushing the job, eliminating those frustrating "oops" that some of us have experienced with. you know what I'm talking about. Not cheap, but not sure if you can ask for more from a last-minute-scheduled job done right and on time. read more

No voice mail etc. Then the day of the cleaning no one even showed up. I called again and got the run around. They rescheduled for another day. No discount. No nothing. We've used a few services over the years, always for one-off cleanings. We really appreciated the ease of service with NW Maids. We have a pack of dogs, so it's always a struggle to get them out of the house while one adult stays behind (which a lot of other services require). NW Maids didn't require an adult to stay on premises, so we were able to take the whole family on an adventure while someone else cleaned our home for us. I used this service last year for a rental move-out cleaner service. The communication was very good and they sent a 2 or 3-person crew who got the job done very well in about 3 hours. This time, same great pre-communication for scheduling BUT the cleaner did not show up within the slotted time, no one called and we could not get in touch with anyone to figure out what was going on. Very stressful and I was thinking I'll need to clean this whole house by myself, I'll be here all night!. Luckily a cleaner finally showed up. Poor Kayla. She stayed for about 5 hours and did a good job, but I'm removing one star bc this is a 2-person job and they obviously had some kind of issue getting a cleaner to our job. OTOH, these are "unprecedented times" and there's been problems in all service industry jobs. My beef is they really shouldve called me rt away and let me know what was going on. So easy to book online and get clean in no time. I live alone downtown Seattle in a small apartment. I pick up after myself, but I don't clean. NW Maids cleans for me. We used NW Maids for a move out clean. We had a bunch of stuff happen with our move which boiled down to our stuff wasn't out of the house like I thought it'd be (DON'T USE MOVING BROKERS!). I couldn't reschedule due to the last minute nature of the moving fiasco and needing to be out of the apartment by the next day, and NW Maids worked with me to clean what they could and I could not be more thankful to them! Final Update: Warning for anyone who needs service at all. Well this is my final review and update. I don't post many negative reviews, but I have had a very unpleasant experience and would like to warn others so it doesn't happen to them. If I could give zero stars I would. I tried to use the aforementioned credit I had for a move out cleaning of my 1 bedroom 1 bath rental. I have completely moved out and live over an hour away now and made a trip back to be present for the cleaning services. I received multiple confirmation email and texts the days leading up to my scheduled service. An hour into the allotted time the cleaner was to arrive, I receive a cancellation email as well as an explanation that their cleaners are sick and can't make it. This put me in a seriously tight spot, because after booking the cleaning appointment I scheduled my walkthrough review with my landlord for 2 hours after the appointment. By the time I was notified of the cancellation I had 3 hours until the walkthrough with my landlord. I was beyond frustrated. In my booking phone call with an office staff member, I had been assured I would not need to provide any cleaning supplies since they would have it all. Since I'd already moved out and I wasn't informed of their inability to perform as agreed until the middle of the appointment, I had nothing to clean with. I had to scramble to the nearest store and buy all this unnecessary cleaning supplies costing extra money. Great. I could understand how a small business would run into this issue, but the handling of the situation was quite poor. Being informed in the middle of the appointment by Email gave me no time to have a back up plan. If I had known sooner, I could've planned accordingly. Free cleaning offers are no good if the company can't supply a cleaner at the agreed upon time and if the cleaner doesn't do the job (see first review). Save yourself time, headache and money and don't book with this company. Update: I was contacted directly about my previous less than great experience and NW Maids offered to make it right and clean my place again at my schedule. It's clear that this company cares about their customers and they went above and beyond to try to make up for my previous experience. I would still say you may want to be clear about what you'd like done so there are no issues with miscommunication, but beyond that they are prompt with their customer service and the online booking feature is great. Basic service at best. Toilet seats were left up. Items on counters were cleaned around but not under. Customer service was fine, but I felt like I was paying for someone to vacuum and kinda dust. My security camera shows my cleaner arriving at 2:34pm and leaving at 3:41pm. I paid for two hours of cleaning... The cleaner was supposed to arrive between noon and 2pm... As a full-time real estate professional I cannot recommend this company to anyone. When I hire a cleaning service we typically list the property in the next couple days. I recently hired the NW Maids to perform a move out clean for $369. They sent one person for approximately 4 hours to clean a 2500+ square foot home. The results were what you would expect. NOT good. They spent more effort trying to control my reviews than they did solving the problem. They offered a $25 credit which I consider to be offensive. I would never use this service again or recommend it to a client or colleague. I would say generally you get what you pay for in life....just not from this company. Stay away! read more

We ordered what we were told was "deep cleaning" for a 1200 sq. foot flat after a kitchen remodel. We explained there was a fine layer of dust covering everything! The "crew" (a very charming father and daughter team) was done and out of here in less than an hour. It was not deep cleaned. The most visible surfaces were cleaned. That is it. The next business day I contacted NW Maids. They offered a discount on future cleaning or a refund of the "deep cleaning" charges. To my surprise they refunded the entire amount (excepting the tip we gave.) They are a small, family owned and operated business. The full refund was the right thing to do and is how you build customer confidence. read more
