All this to say, I cracked the back of my phone the other day and had to make an appointment through Apple to get it fixed, and they sent me here. It was a short walk from my office, so Rhiannon if you're reading this I promise I went on my lunch break. After the short jaunt, I arrived at 36 W 36th. Sweet address right? There is a sign outside for the store that indicates it's on the 4th floor, which is a very nice touch. I took the elevator up, and the doors open right into the iStore with a big lit up sign in your face that says "iStore." "I think I am in the right place" the hero mumbled to himself... My boy Adrian at the desk took a quick look at the phone, and when he checked and saw I had no apple care he said it would be around $550 to repair. I picked up a portable radio / CD combo box for about 120 bucks that includes international radio stations with the included adapter . You can haggle with prices as I notice with a few other customers and it doesn't hurt to try and it saved me 10 bucks for the effort . I have brought it back to Kimi twice - the first time he fiddled with the settings, restarted it - I was hopeful, but the problem persisted. The second time, he replaced the glass again (free of charge) and now the problem is even worse - the screen has several air bubbles and is frequently unresponsive & still turns off randomly, usually when I am working with a client and need to show images. It is also a lot darker than it should be (even at the highest brightness setting). JUST BE AWARE: that it might ruin your ipad/iphone irreperably. At your own risk.
