I order from this place a lot because the food is so good, and the prices are reasonable (for DC). I only have two issues - 1. The website is a nightmare. Most of the time I either get a call from the establishment asking me to clarify or verify information I've already entered, or my order is missing something. 2. The "rewards program" is guaranteed to piss you off like it did me. I placed an order on a Friday and received a "reward" email for $5 off my next order. Good, right! WRONG. The reward expired the next day so unless you order from them two days in a row, it's useless and slightly offensive. If these things don't bother you then, by all means, order away. read more

Very good pizza option. Matchbox is my standard. They are close to that level. I've gone for pickup twice now because of neighborhood convenience. I've got them saved and will definitely keep going. Same price ($19) for a large extra pepperoni as Matchbox. If they were side by side, I'd walk into the Matchbox. They were a little greasier, crust wasn't quite as crunchy, and the cheese was a bit more chewy (thick) for what I remember Matchbox being. The ingredients were really tasty. They are quick. Friendly service. Great for pickup. The inside atmosphere (from what I've seen) is really basic. This is probably more a takeout or delivery option. They have ok parking if you want to pop in to pick up. Penn is busy though. But wait! This is a positive review. I've been twice and had really good experiences. I'll continue to go on my way home. A solid neighborhood option. Oh, and they have Indian food options. It is a broader and more unique menu than just pizza. Give them a try. I know I'll be back. read more

We were in town for baseball games. We had NYPG deliver to our hotel all three nights! Wings were yummy, and gyro with chicken was huge and the best one we've ever had. NY thin crust pizza was exceptional. Caesar salad was amazing. [I just needed a little more dressing]. Oreo cheesecake was good, kind of small but excellent. I was delighted the gentleman called me, parked his car and brought the food directly to my door and I gave him a nice tip because I really appreciate it that.. so then I'm getting everything ready to eat my wings and it was the worst lemon pepper wings I have had in my life. Because it feels so disjointed, I expected to walk out with a mediocre experience. Surprisingly, my Monday night dinner buddy and I left giving it 4 stars. Here's why: 1) Options: Yes, the menu is all over the place, but it is kind of nice to have options. They sell wraps, salads, kebabs, biryani, subs, wraps, desserts and so much more! Whatever mood you're in, there's something for you! 2) Food: It's not bad! My friend who lived in India found the biryani surprisingly good. My Philly cheese steak sandwich was great! On top of it, both portions were HUGE and more affordable. There was enough food for lunch the next day! 3) Service: The men who run it are kind. I took my 15-month old baby and they engaged with her well. As we were leaving, they gave us a piece of Oreo cheesecake for my daughter (You better believe I ate it instead!). Wow, a place where I can get pizza and curry! They found a way to make the whole family happy. I didn't get a chance to try the pizza, the kids ate it too quick. They also had mozzarella sticks that looked good and went too fast for me. I did try the chicken curry and it was delicious. My choice was the lamb curry and I ordered it spicy hot. The meat was mostly good but it had a huge cartilage section that I had to avoid. There was flat bread with cucumber sauce and spinach with potatoes on the side. Awful customer service and rude staff. I had a carry out order today of chicken kabob. Only men work here, and they do not greet or respect female customers. After I placed my order, I observed the cashier greet and show respect to a male customer. The entire staff will stare at you when you enter the restaurant. It's very bizarre and I will not return. P.S. - When my order was ready, the cashier who took my order handed my food to a guy who was standing inside the restaurant. Great delivery service from this establishment. All I ever ordered were various pizzas, baked or grilled salmon meals, and the chicken kabob combos. They did a great job with all those items in my experience. I also really enjoyed their western fries. I tried their waffle fries a couple times and wasn't too hyped on them. I was also never very thrilled about their mixed vegetables. The texture of all the veggies always seemed to be quite waxy. Other than that, I thought this place was really good. This is my go-to GrubHub pizza provider. I'm not sure if there's anything "New York" about it, but they make a killer deep dish that my fiancé and I can't get enough of. My first order from here was actually really bad; it had a very strange taste and I vowed not to order from here again. But, I somehow ended up deciding to give them another chance, and every following order has been a delight. The deep dish is thick, fluffy and extremely filling - I highly recommend adding extra mozzarella and fresh tomatoes. I attribute the grossness of my first pizza to the feta I added to it - I don't think it was fresh. So don't get the feta. But that one bad pizza was an outlier; New York Pizza is overall pretty high quality. read more

I am more disappointed in the fact that it's advertised as NY style pizza and this is not how NY pizza looks. I've never paid for a "large" NY style pizza that looks like a medium. I attached pictures for this. I ordered a small NY Jamaican which is advertised to have grilled shrimp, a large cheese pizza and also order of waffle fries. The driver brought my food and insisted I open the box due to me asking for it to be lightly cooked, I open the box to see my NY Jamaican pizza had no shrimp but chicken. I also mention to the carrier that he didn't bring my fries. I called the store about it only to have The rude "shift manager" Sam yell in my ear several times as if I lack comprehension that they NO LONGER SERVE SHRIMP on pizza, as I said to Sam several times it's still advertised on your website. He yells and tells me that I'm looking at the wrong website as if I didn't place the order online and they didn't receive it and deliver the wrong order to my house. THE NERVE! I spend too much money supporting this business because I enjoyed the service, however It is apparent staff has changed. A young lady by the name of Katie called back but I'm guessing even after seeing for themselves the Ego got in the way of the APOLOGY! This place has been a part of my life my entire 1.5 year residency in DC. When I came into town to view apartments, I was early and looking for a place to grab a bite. I ended up around the corner at NY Pizza's former location to grab a slice while I waited for my appointment time. I ended up snagging that apartment which is literally around the corner so it has become my go-to pizza place. They recently moved to their new location and I think the new spot way more fits with their restaurant. The old location was too big and old fashioned. New spot is much nicer! I order from here probably about once a month or so and have never been disappointed. The hand tossed pizza is delish and I'm also a big fan of the wings (garlic parm all the way!). And I LOVE their double fried fries they serve with the wings, holy crispy magicness! They also have a lot of loaded fry combinations that I've enjoyed as well. I live a block away so always do pickup because even I can't justify being lazy af in this scenario. Their service has always been great and I'm pretty sure that the woman that served me that single slice on that day I was viewing apartments is still the one smiling as I walk in. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! I ordered a few things the other day and as per usual, walked over to pick them up. After I was home and about ready to slam some pizza in my maw, I get a phone call.
