I usually order through the yelp app so I've been avoiding it, but I have been recently calling/ picking up orders and the exchanges are terrible. But I think leaving bad reviews for bad customer service is stupid- it's a delivery order, I'm paying for the food not the "experience". We ate at NYPD Grill while visiting the area. We were a little skeptical because they offer such a variety of menu items, but they definitely had something for everyone. The Chicken Biryani extra spicy was hot and delicious. The pizza and garlic bread was very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating as we dined in. I have been ordering from NY pizza restaurant the past 4 years. I was so disappointed in my order today that I will not order from them anymore. The gyro had very little lamb and was loaded with tomatoes and sauce. If I wanted a salad, I would have ordered one! The butter chicken was not in a brown sauce like it usually is. It was a deep red sauce instead. I wonder why they are putting so many tomatoes in everything? When I called to complain, he said he would give me 20% off of my next order. I've been ordering from this place since before they opened this location a few years back. Last night I ordered and paid for a NY Jamaican Pizza online, even added in gratuity prior to delivery. When I opened it, most of the toppings shifted to one side of the pizza as if someone dropped the box. I recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to give this restaurant a try. The storefront has all sorts of flyers, menus etc. Currently it is raining and as I let down my umbrella and opened the door and attempted to walk in I was rudely greeted by a man saying "You can't come in". At first, I was confused as he offered no further explanation and gave me a blank stare. I then noticed a couple of flyers on the door advising that someone would talked your order at the door. We stopped in at NY Pizza because we saw a sign board that advertised a chicken curry special. That sounded good, so we went in, and were impressed by the breadth of the menu. They had - among other things - veggie burgers, falafel, Greek salad, pizza, kebabs, and Indian food. We each got a different chicken curry, and they were served with spinach, rice, and this delicious bread that was kind of like a cross between naan and pizza crust. The curries both had fresh shaved ginger and diced cilantro over the top, and that really made it taste super fresh. The staff was super friendly, and we took a menu with us to give to friends who live nearby. This restaurant had been across the street for about 22 years, and has recently moved to the current location on Pennsylvania Avenue. Great prices, great food! read more
