Sitting at the bar waiting for a to go order. There were 3 people at the bar. One person was there prior to me sitting down and the last sat down after me. The first person was approached for her beverage. He brought her wine and she asked for water. He retrieved it. The last lady seated was offered a drink, she declined. Myself, I was not even spoken to, not even made eye contact with. The slim, blonde haired bar tender, zipped right past me. I asked to speak with the 1st manager, who quickly jumped to the bartenders defense. "It's busy" as if I couldn't see that with my 4 eyes! He continued to attempt to make excuses for his bartender and became visibly agitated. I asked for my order to be cancelled and speak with another manager. He came out and with a little more tack de-escalated the situation. Long story, long, i was not eating at this location again until Manager Jeff. NYPD is at the end of shopping strip, and we probably drove past it a hundred times without ever noticing it was there. But some friends recommended we give it a try, so we did. The decor is very cute; reminded us of New York City (which we love!) We started off with an antipasto salad that was delicious. For our entrees, the kids ordered pasta (which they both enjoyed and ate every bit of) while my husband and I shared a small meat lovers pizza. It was just "ok"; the dough was a little too salty and rolled too thin in the middle, which made it very soggy with all the toppings. Thinking maybe it was just undercooked, we sent it back to the oven. Unfortunately that didn't help much. We brought it to our server's attention and she was super sweet about it; called the manager on duty right over to our table and he offered to have another pizza made for us, which we declined. He kindly removed the pizza from our bill and gave us two complimentary desserts to go. The NY style cheesecake was good, but the limoncello cake was TO. DIE. FOR. My girlfriend has a serious dairy allergy and can not have milk. We have been going to NYPD for a good while now. They have been able to accommodate her allergy and make dairy fee pizza. They took the allergy serious and has not made her sick once. Awesome service and great food. They provide a really friendly atmosphere. read more

So the establishment contacted me & asked me to give them another try. We said, "Sure, why not?" I will have to say that the service was much better this time. Our server & manager came by many times to check up on us & make sure everything was OK. The garlic knots were better (less greasy). The pizza looked better. It took a little longer than what we were told, but it was not an excessive wait this time. I still would've liked more toppings & a little less crust. The desserts were good! The Cookie 'n Cream was a little too sweet for my liking. If you've never tried, get the Zeppolis with Raspberry sauce - yummy! read more

My friend and I have eaten dinner a number of times at the Chandler NYPD location. I liked their barbeque/bacon pizza that isn't listed on the menu, but they put on special once in a while. We usually go there around 7:30 pm, as we both work the night shift. So it is important to us that we have decent service as we have to get back to work on time. We decided on pizza on a Friday evening, so we expected them to be a little slower on service than usual. Their service here always has been slow, even when there are only a few customers in the store. This time, they told us it would be about 1/2 an hour to get our pizza, which was expected. I ordered a medium Da Works pizza. After 45 mins, they brought out my friends pizza and showed it to him, and asked if the crust was cooked to his satisfaction, which I thought was odd. Then they took the pizza away, and 10 mins later, brought his and my pizzas to the table. I took one slice of pizza from the pan and found the middle of the pizza was soggy and not cooked. I flagged down the waiter, who had them cook it again for another 5 mins. It was still undercooked. They took 1/2 of the pizza? back and cooked it again. It was still wet and soggy in the middle and unedible. Also, the pizza had NO flavor what so ever, it was incredibly bland. My friend commented that his pizza was also tasteless and bland. By this time, we had to get back to work. The servers made no offers or apologies, or attempts to correct the problem. I paid the bill and will not go back there again. It's definitely more expensive than a typical chain pizza spot, but it's well worth the price. Everything I've had here has been great. It does hold true to its name as a New York style restaurant, having been to NY several times it's the closest I've found in AZ. We do takeout from here roughly once a week and have never had a bad meal. read more

I didn't even want to give one star. I don't know what happened to Nypd. I placed my order and they had to call me back to tell me they don't make a certain item anymore. I read it right off there website, they need to update their menu. Nypd use to be my favorite place to get pizza, not anymore. To make matters worse they charged me extra for getting a similar dish and didn't tell me, intern the delivery boy didn't get a big enough tip since I was paying with all the cash I had on me. Customer service was horrible. When I called and asked how much extra toppings were the response I got was "I have no idea". I was completely shocked and when I tried to clarify it he said "I don't know, I think they're $1-2 each". I was about to hang up, but decided to go through with the order. Went to pick it up and after paying I was fumbling the change to put back into my wallet and the guy starts to talking to the customer behind me as I'm still at the counter. My family and I have used NYPD Pizza for many years and when they are good,they are good. This time though,they were fair. We ordered the Lasagna, Spaghetti and Meatballs and a Chicken Parm Sandwich. The Lasagna was good, The Spaghetti and Meatballs was good,but a bit dry and the Chicken Parm Sandwich was good except the Bread, which was very greasy. The wait time to pick it up was overly long. We called it in at 5:15 pm and was told in 20- 25 minutes it would be ready. My wife got there at 5:45 and waited another 35 mins for it. I think they never cooked our meals until my wife got there. They did apologize and gave a 10.00 off coupon when we came back again. Actually,they should have at least given something off for our dinner to begin with, for waiting all that time for a pick up dinner,not towards our next visit. I am so done with this place! I have had food delivered to my place for years. Occasionally, they would forget an item. However, they would always redeliver the item or give me credit on my next order. The last two orders have changed my mind about wanting to ever order delivery from them. I placed an order in April in which they forgot a bag of chips. As compensation, they mailed me a coupon that can only be used in the restaurant. I don't eat out very much. I prefer to have my food delivered. I torn up the coupon when they told me there was no way an exception could be made to apply the coupon to a delivery order. Last night, I reluctantly placed another order. They forgot a cookie I ordered. However, I didn't discover the missing item until today. I am not going to bother contacting them just so I can get another stupid coupon I can only use in the restaurant. I have been understanding enough. read more

I have been here several times. It is clearly way above other pizza places. If you want cheap pizza then you get little Caesars, if you want quality you go here. This place is for a foodie not a run of the mill consumer. Start with a Chelsea chopped salad, cheese garlic knots and thank me later. If you feel like a champ get a calzone. The ricotta is out of this road. The Sicilian is fantastic but only to be braved if you are planning to be in a food coma later. Don't get a standard pizza, that is not why you come here. If you can even get to dessert I recommend some cookie with ice cream. Who cares if it's cold outside? Always eat at the bar, stay by liquor, the tv, and quicker service. Came in to NYPD Pizza a few days back. despite having a prior bad customer service experience, my husband and I decided to give it another chance. We have never had issues with the food, it has always been up to par, but because of our mistreatment we decided not to come back. To my surprise we had a great dinner and excellent service. Our waitress, Cindy (or maybe Sydney), was very attentive and had a great demeanor. After our meal we told her of our previous bad experience and she took the time to not only listen but also apologize, and she seemed like she genuinely cared about what we had to say. She more than made up for our bad experience. We will definitely be coming back again! Not to mention the food was delicious!! read more

We always enjoy going here. The pizza is yummy and the service is great too! On our last trip, we accidentally forgot to take our credit card back with us after paying. We didn't realize it until the next day. We called them and the manager was so nice. He told us that they had our credit card locked in their safe. Phew! When we stopped by to pick it up, he wanted to know if we enjoyed our meal the night before. He was genuinely interested to hear our feedback. I've been going to NYPD for years. First just for Pizza, then for diversity of menu for family members. I've always left there happy.

Although the food here is good the delivery service is horrible. They get our order wrong 9 times out of 10. We have to call just about every time. They offer us a free this or that, but when I order my food I expect to get exactly what I paid for. I think it's time to find a new pizza place that cares enough to check the orders before heading out the door!! Very disappointed....... read more

Came to NYPD a week or so ago with friends. I had never heard of it before but after this visit I will definitely come back. Pizza is easily one of my favorite foods and NYPD's pizzas sit pretty high on my list of pizza I'd order again and again. It's nothing "gourmet" but their pizza was perfectly cooked. I ordered the Brooklynn Family with sausage and pepperoni. It was awesome. It took awhile to get our food and our waiter was a little slow but he seemed busy with other tables. That's why this received only four stars. Other than that, great job. Everyone was very friendly and I will be recommending at work. Two thumbs up! read more

I hardly complain at a restaurant. It was bad. Not even sure where to start on the review. It was 90% a disaster. Ran out of budweiser, burnt cheese sticks filled with rubber, raw pizza, two orders of lasagna that tasted like tomato paste, it said sausage was in it, and I think it was. lol, but had no taste to it, extra tomatoes when we ordered none on a salad. I have been a loyal customer and have always loved the food. However multiple times in a row has been kids between the ages of 2 and 5 running around everywhere. I know that the parents should be responsible but the managers of the restaurant should be as well. This is not meant to be a jungle gym for kids, it is a place for families to eat together. I have noticed that other people in the restaurant have the same opinion I do and I bet if this doesn't change they will loose all of their loyal customers like me. read more

NYPD Pizza was good the first two times I went there but the last 4 times since then I have left unsatisfied. Yesterday, I got a meatball and parm sandwich. The sandwich was tiny!!! It was also tasteless and had two little dots of sauce on it. My wife and I were laughing as we could not figure out how they took marinara sauce and put two very small dots on the sandwich. It was like they tattooed the bread with a small amount of sauce. Is your marinara priceless or something or do you just not give a crap about the quality of the food. My wife got the Italian cold cut which was a bigger sandwich but very, very plain. It was like someone slapped it together in two seconds. I could have made the same sandwich at home with no effort. The last 4 times we have been burned and I have said "we are not going back" but because it was so easy to go because it is close by, I thought, well maybe it will get better. I just want to go on the record and say that this may be my first review on yelp, but I have been a long time yelp user. First, it's Monday night 1/28/13 around 7:00 pm., so it's pretty much dead. There was probably another three small parties dining while we were there. We had three adults and one toddler in our group. We were politely greeted and seated timely and our server Daniel was nice. We all ordered water but my son was never given one until we asked half way through dinner. We started out with the garlic Knots appetizer. WOW! We were shocked to see them on our table in 2 minutes, then we realized that they were cold, so who never got there knots? and then why were they given to us? being that "un"fresh. We are not people to speak up and complain in person because we don't like public embarrassment, so we just went with it and ate them because we were all hungry and tired. Onto the main course. We ordered a large mushroom pizza with vegan cheese and a second to-go. Kudos to NYPD for offering the vegan cheese option. Now I have been to other pizza parlors and I shall say much busier pizza parlors and never has it taken that long to get our order, it took a good 45 minutes to an hour just to get our 1 pizza on the table. Furthermore, we payed a little over 2.00 to add 1 topping to our large pizza which was mushroom(s). What did we get? A large pizza with 1 chopped up mushroom on the pizza. Really!! Really!! that's it? a speckle of mushrooms for 2.00? give me a break. What can I say about the service other than our waiter was always polite, but can be a little more attentive to drink refills, so nothing really bad to say about him and nothing really outstanding to say about him or the service in general.. So NYPD you just lost a return customer. read more

We order from NYPD frequently and love their pizza, however, this last order was horrendous. We were placed on hold and hung up on when originally trying to place the order. Then we had to call to check the status of our pizza because we were quoted an hour fifteen minutes to an hour and half and we were approaching the two hour mark. After being put on hold again all the girl could tell us was that it was on its way. We then received a call from the driver who sounded like he was on something and couldn't even seem to form complete sentences. When our pizza and wings arrived the pizza we were given wasn't even ours and the wings were room temperature at best. Tried calling the driver before he got too far, but he didn't answer. When we called the store back, after being put on hold twice, the manager Matt wasn't much help. We didn't receive an apology and he didn't offer any solution. Only when asked how they planned to rectify the situation did he say they would send the correct pizza out, but it would be 40 more minutes. We also requested a refund and were told we'd receive one, but that is yet to be seen. We'll think twice about ordering from there next time which is unfortunate. read more
