    Skirt steak, lamb, pappardelle bolognese
    Vera L.

Such an aesthetically beautiful, upscale spot with great vibes. Service, the food and drinks we tried here were amazing! The skirt steak with crispy fries came with a delicious chimichurri. The pappardelle bolognese was one of the best I've had as it was rich, meaty, and perfectly sauced. The herb-crusted rack of lamb was also a standout. Honestly, everything was about a 10/10. I did ask for medium rare, but it came out slightly more rare than expected, just a few more seconds cooked and it would've been perfect. They also have a great selection of wines, bubbles, cocktails, and unique beers, with helpful pairing notes on the menu. Definitely worth driving over to check it out, you won't regret it!

A new steakhouse in the City of Whittier. The decor were aesthetically pleasing with an upscale ambiance. Ordered the Rosemary Ricotta to start , it tasted so good that my party asked for an additional bread. I had the New York Steak as my main course. It was tender and juicy greatly paired with mac and cheese. The Strawberry Margarita has a perfect balance of salty sweet and sour taste. Lastly, ordered the delicious NY cheesecake for dessert. Overall, food tasted great and the service as well. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I had a great dining experience. Highly, recommended.

Enjoyed a beautiful birthday celebration with my best friend at the new NYX restaurant in lovely Uptown Whittier. We remembered the location as we had visited years ago when it was Nixon. NYX completely revamped the interior. It is beautiful inside... high end, dark and moody. Loved the decor choices. Our server was wonderful. She gave us great options once we learned the kitchen had ran out of our first dinner options. Our steak was delicious as was our lobster Mac n cheese. Our drinks were great. Will need to return!

The Cobb Salad was the best Cobb I've had. They had elite which made it. I also had the mashed potatoes, super hot. Delicious. My entree was the lemon chicken. Yum. The ambiance was great; the service was great. The drink menu has been updated. My apple martini was a five star. The Late Check Out was 4/5. I'm keeping with the martinis. See you next week.

Now every year I somehow forget to make Mother's Day reservations and we end up with bootleg seats and a long wait line... which is basically my dad's nightmare. So this year I told myself I was going to get it together. I wanted something classy, closer to Downey, and after scrolling Yelp I found NYX Steakhouse. I made an online reservation and was actually excited for Mother's Day for once. Then my dad decided a 6 PM dinner reservation was "too late" and requested lunch instead. So back online I went and changed everything to a 1 PM reservation. Mother's Day comes around, we purposely had a light breakfast thinking we'd be ready for a nice steakhouse lunch. We walk in, everything looks beautiful, we order drinks... and then realize they were only serving brunch, not lunch. Apparently they close at 3 and reopen later for dinner service. Unfortunately brunch wasn't really what we were looking for, so we ended up just having drinks and leaving. The place itself looked really nice and the staff was pleasant, but I do wish that was made a little clearer during the reservation process because it definitely felt like a missed opportunity for what was supposed to be our Mother's Day lunch outing.

I came across this Gem while I was in Santa Fe springs and I checked my yelp for a steakhouse nearby. It came up and it was just opening so we stopped in without a reservation. It's in uptown Whittier in a nice location with plenty of parking areas on the street it in a lot . From the Front doorway to the walkway it' is a very good decorative restaurant with a cool looking bar top and hi top tables in the Bar area. And regular nice tables throughout the rest of the place. Service was amazing from Jenifer she was very nice and friendly as was the rest of the staff in the whole place. Met other customers at the bar and they were having a great time just like we did. Had a chance to see lil speak easy after hours bar that was about to open as well It was very nice to meet Jason he was very welcoming and personable. Drinks are very well made and have signature cocktails and as for the food. It's Amazing. Form everything that I seen coming out of the kitchen to tables looked very tasty. Our meal was very good and well made I will be back Cheers!!!

I love this place so much ! It might be my favorite restaurant now ! Isaiah was a server he was warm and sociable . I appreciated his recommendations. I enjoyed the artichoke hearts with a spicy sauce, they have the best bone marrow with cilantro on it. Mashed potatoes or creamy, but the mac & cheese was so flavorful so tasty !! you've gotta order the mac & cheese. You won't regret it.. The steak was to die, for I love the roasted garlic and the sauce . Mouth watering. Let's talk about the drinks they're known for their martinis. They come with a very chilled glass. They're very cold. I ordered French martini, which is Chambord, with pineapple juice, and vodka And we ordered a lemon drop . I'm fond of the decor and atmosphere. Some other staff members came over and gave us recommendations afterwards on where to go for a late night drink since they were closing when we were there. They have a really nice staff all around. !!

I really love Nyx for their amazing happy hour deals! I've been back twice this year, once with my girl friend and most recently with my family. You can't beat a girl dinner for $29! Also the drinks are made strong and well - highly recommend for your next HH outing.

We tried Nyx on Sunday for drinks and were impressed. Beautiful presentation, solid cocktails, and very knowledgeable bartenders. We didn't eat this time, but the dishes we saw coming out looked delicious--definitely coming back to try the food. Bonus: they have a happy hour, so we'll be back for that soon.

I've been wanting to dine at Nyx since it first opened. However, I hate going anywhere in Whittier because of the lack of nearby freeways and amount of time driving on the streets. To add to that, parking can also be a hassle depending on where you go and time of day. My sister and I went out of our way yesterday to go to Nyx. We arrived around 5:10-5:15. My sister tried to open the door to find that it was closed. We tried searching for another entry to no avail. I tried to call the place to see what was going on or if they had to open the door for us - no one answered. My sister then started to question if it was even open and I showed her the yelp page which shows that they were indeed supposed to be open on Wednesdays starting at 4. As I kept trying to call the place, a couple walked up and tried to open the door as well. My sister told them that I have been trying to get a hold of someone and the couple said that they had a reservation there at 5:15. I then got more frustrated because why would their system allow them to make ANY reservations if the place was supposed to be closed?! Make it make sense. The couple left and another lady walked up to try to open the door. We explained the same thing to the lady and she explained that she had 6 other people meeting her up there and had no idea what to do. My sister and I were outside looking on yelp for other places to go to. We ended up at Azabu since it was walking distance down the street. Right when we walked in, we saw a sign promoting the new Nyx restaurant and I was in fumes!!! I told the host to take that sign down because it's not even open. The host said, "they aren't open on Wednesdays" and I had to explain to him EVERYTHING that just happened and how it just messed up my whole day. Wow, SOMEONE knows Nyx is closed on Wednesdays...not us because we read the hours on yelp. Anyways, my sister and I had an amazing time at Azabu. We've gone there before and the server ended up making my day a little better with his outstanding hospitality and i'm glad that Azabu's hours reflect when they are ACTUALLY open. I will never go back to Nyx unless they shut down and something else opens in place of it. If they forgot to update their hours and are that careless, what else are they being careless about? Such an inconsiderate, incompetent, inconvenient, biggest waste of time. The screenshot on their menu also shows their hours of being "open" on Wednesdays. Unbelievable!!!

This place instantly became one of my favorites after just one visit. From the moment you walk in, the whole vibe hits you--the moody, neon-lit ambiance sets the tone perfectly. It feels elevated, a little edgy, and honestly just the kind of spot you want to spend your night at. The music is curated so well. Not too loud, not too mellow--just the right balance where you can vibe, have a conversation, and still feel the energy of the room. You can tell they actually care about the experience, not just throwing a playlist together. Now let's talk about the drinks... because that's really where they shine. Every cocktail feels intentional and crafted with care. You can taste the quality immediately--nothing watered down, nothing basic. They have a really cool mix of classic cocktails and modern twists, and even the familiar drinks feel elevated. It's the kind of place where you want to try something new every round because you trust the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. Service was on point too. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain drinks and made great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. I came in not knowing what to expect, and left already planning my next visit. If you're in Uptown Whittier and looking for a spot with great energy, amazing cocktails, and a full vibe--The Vandalist is it. Thank me later

Our server was Ashley and she was so friendly and sweet! She answered all our questions and was very attentive to us throughout the dinner! Good shareable portions for the table! For dinner, we ordered the short rib pappardelle, which was DELICIOUS and was a hit!!! There was more than enough to split among three people! I had the grilled salmon salad which had a good hefty portion of salmon that was perfectly grilled, on a huge bowl of greens! The restaurant gave my mom a complimentary canoli for her birthday too, which was awesome! Thank you so much for the great food and excellent service! Our server at our table was the complete opposite. Very attentive and made the group less angry with our initial treatment. Wish I got her name to share. The desert and cocktails were nice but due to the service it did not make up for the overall experience. Desert: Tiramisu 4/5 - great flavor, ratio of cream was too much compared to cake portion Canolli 4/5 - duo flavors were nice and had a good shell with crunch Crème brûlée 2/5 - pistachio flavor was light and it's was almost too warm and liquidy. Cocktails overall some major hits and other misses. Sgroppino 5/5 - strong but with a great flavor profile Dragon fruit cocktail 2/5 - too light tasting, not much flavor or alcohol? Gave more juice Peach Bellini 4.5/5 - table side pour is nice touch and rest of bottle was nice. Syrup has a sourness but mixed in with Bellini and gelato and tasted just right. Melontini - 2.5/5 light, somewhat good flavor but nothing memorable. Ambience seems nice but it can be loud inside with open floor plan.

The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and well balanced, with the avocado adding a nice creamy contrast to the spice. The presentation of the ceviche was especially well done and made the dish even more enjoyable. I paired my meal with a glass of Strev Moscato, while my husband enjoyed a 22 oz bottle of Asahi. The atmosphere was welcoming and made for a nice anniversary dinner. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the overall vibe was perfect for a date night.
