After asking for the price she told me it'll be more than $150+ depending on if I wanted 8 or 10 and I'm old school lol that pricing threw me off because you can get some knotless box braids, literally a full head of braids for around that same price so I was definitely shocked that 8 BASIC CORN ROWS would cost over $150 or even close to $200! Especially since I wasn't asking for stitch braids. She also told me it's because I'm "adding hair and it will be about three hours to complete the service..." which again I've never had someone take THREE HOURS to do 8-10 cornrows, like what? THEN she proceeded to tell me "this isn't Harlem" mind you I'm not even from NYC or NJ so that was lame, and then she hung up the phone on me while I was still speaking. Although the price was high I would have considered keeping my appointment and just paying that unnecessary fee for 8-10 regular cornrows but unfortunately I couldn't because she hung up the phone and pissed me off. VERY TACKY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. She kept hinting at me not being able to afford the price that she is overcharging meanwhile you can be both shocked that something is expensive and still be able to afford it, so that didn't even make sense. She thought she ate with that but whomp whomp it didn't hit over here LOL. So, I called back and 100% called her out of her name because I felt she was disrespectful by saying "this isn't Harlem" and hanging up on a potential client. Then she went out of her way to text me as if she wasn't rude and unprofessional towards me on the phone, LOL. Moral of the story, the owner or whoever answers/makes appointments needs etiquette class or a good pop in the mouth :) You don't get to talk to people however or assume/call them broke because they don't wanna be overcharged for some simple straight back cornrows. Highly recommend finding another salon where the workers know how to keep it cute.

I have been a loyal customer (for lashes) for 7 years…read more Friday I went in for lashes and a hair cut/style. The lash appointment wasn't the best because Jen kept leaving me on the table to go take care of other customers. After 2 hours it was finally my turn to get washed. I showed Richard the hair style I wanted- TWICE- and Jen spoke to him about it then asked how short I wanted my hair. That's when I got concerned because the hair style is for long hair, which I already have. My hair goes past my mid back. I told her SEVERAL TIMES "Do not touch the length. I love my long hair" Richard starts cutting and then flips my hair past my shoulders and I see no hair..... it's all gone. Easily 5-6 inches chopped off. Jen smiles and said "We only took off an inch" I wanted to scream, cry, vomit- it took me so long to get my hair to the length I wanted it to be at and they ruined it. They ruined it the day before my baby shower. Which Jen knew was the very next day. I told her I didn't want the length touched and all she said was "It was necessary" just ADMIT that your husband messed up big time. Admit that you said something to him that made him cut off my hair. You threw away a 7 year loyal customer over what you thought was "necessary" Well it's now necessary for me to take my business elsewhere. Also look at the other reviews and what do they all have in common? SHORT HAIR. Richard only knows how to cut short hair. If you are a long hair girlie please go someplace else before he RUINS your hair as well.

She's really quick with application, yet meticulous and I'm always happy with my lashes afterwards. They also last longer for me (almost a month) compared to when I get lashes done at other places. They have a new credit card payment system now, so you can save a few bucks if you pay in cash (I believe it's around 3%). Note: Even though they have "and Nail" in the name, they no longer do nails.

I made my appointment through Instagram and a phone call. They confirmed that they had the hair I was requesting on hand and took my $50 deposit. In the days leading up to my appointment, I got a phone call every single day to reconfirm my appointment which was excessive. When I arrive I had to wait 45 minutes after my initial scheduled booking because the Hairstylist was busy. I wanted to leave at that point however my boyfriend convinced me to stay. I was told that the bundles that they had already confirmed that I requested were not in stock despite steady confirmation of them available every single day prior. They only had that was similar 3 20" bundles so whatever that was fine I took those. Which is an inconvenience in itself. Why would you confirm that you had the hair requested if you didn't have it? Once the hairstylist started on my hair, the takedown was fine and fast. I brought my own shampoo and conditioner because I'm trying to have my hair get back to a healthy level the Hairstylist used that but then said we're gonna use our own deep conditioner after using mine and put me under the dryer. I didn't request that nor was told it's extra nothing. She starts blow drying out my hair that was fine however, to give a description my hair is thin, loose wave curls, and not coarse at all. She started braiding my hair. It was already starting super tight, but I understand braiders all very different so I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. She's using braiding gel in my hair, which my hair does not need to hold a braid. And it doesn't even go with my hair type. It got to the point where she was braiding so tight that I had to grip the arm rest. I've been getting my hair braided for years with installs. I have never had that issue nor that feeling. They got to the point where I was like. Can you please just stop using the braiding gel cause I felt like that was the issue. All of my braids were super tight when she threaded my hair to put the bundles in it was already making my already tight hair even tighter. I just wanted her to hurry up and be done with my hair. When it came time to pay, I had to pay for the bundles first on arrival. And at the end of the hair appointment, I was charged $15 for a deep conditioning. Which I never requested, nor was told during the process. I was charged an additional amount to install the third bundle. So installs only come with two bundles apparently lol. I was almost charged for a trimming fee, but she instead said no they took off $15 for the Hairstylist being late at starting my appointment. I was charged a styling fee. Everything was fee on top of fee on top of fee. Now fast-forward to a month later, I had my hair washed once in between as maintenance after that all of the braids and threads got super loose. I took down my braids and washed my hair after washing my hair. I was literally losing clumps of hair and already have thin hair that is detrimental. I do not it will not ever recommend this place of business. I literally only booked because as New Jersey resident I have been going to a hair lady in Brooklyn that I have loved. I just stopped wanting to travel so far out out of my way if I could find someone in New Jersey, this was my mistake. Whoever runs their Yelp account, makes it a point to argue to every negative review left, however you cannot change anyone's experience after the fact, this is my experience and I stand standby it

When I found out that VM Beauty Spa in Englewood offered it, I knew I had to give it a shot. The spa is located in a beautiful suite in Englewood. They offer many services included hair! I was arriving a bit late due to heavy traffic, but Stefanie was very accommodating and they still honored my hour service, even with me being tardy. Nelly performed my service and she was great! She is very kind and gentle! She explained the process to me and I felt amazing afterwards and so did my skin! I suffer from occasional acne & the lymphatic draining is said to help with inflammation, in turn helping to come down flare ups. I had an amazing experience and will be back! I declined as I did not want something so permanent and the exposure to the formaldehyde. The beautician also attempted to upsell me, but was understanding of my reasoning for maintaining the express treatment. There was an additional charge of $45 based on the length of my hair that was not disclosed in the Groupon purchase, nor while scheduling the appointment. All in all the stylist was very kind and friendly. She did a very good job and they did offer me coffee/tea during the treatment. All in all, it was a summer adventure, but I do not like the effect the treatment had on my hair so I would not do it again. While checking out, they did offer a comprehensive package as a new client that includes a facial, a massage and a blowout for $180 but I declined.

All white, beautiful mirrors everywhere, and I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful chandelier. Its a gorgeous space! The woman who did my hair was named Carrie, and she was so sweet. I came here on a whim, last week I needed to get a manicure and pedicure and the lady that does the…read morenails was very sweet. I'm a quiet person but she was a very talkative, sweet lady and my nails came out perfect. Not much of a variety of nail colors but they have the option for gel polishes. She also mentioned to me that she does threading but I didn't get to do them. She said her usual schedule is weekends only so I'm not sure if they have another person during the week that takes her place. Aside from the nails, she convinced me to book an appointment for a haircut. I haven't cut my hair since Oct. and it was extremely long and my hair is naturally thick. I'm not aure how I lasted the winter lol. So I made the appointment and they placed me with John. He was very nice and he listened to exactly how I wanted my hair to look. For about a year I've been trying to re-shape my layers to make them more of a V shape instead of the classic U shape. The last time I had someone cut my hair they just gave me the same haircut as alway and didn't listen. I also needed to chop off a good 3 inches so I was prepared for a change! I showed him a photo of the exact look I wanted, and he delivered just that. I was also very impressed by how quick he worked on my hair. I was out in less than two hours and thats including a blow dry! Usually my experience at salons take a good 3 hours, I've been clearly getting my hair done by turtles!
