Was told my order would be ready at a certain time, I arrived within two minutes of said time, waited, waited, after 15 minutes I called the restaurant to see if there was an issue. My wife had a steak that she says was as tough as she has ever eaten and the baked potato may have been left over from lunch. I had the talapia on rice pilaf and it was very good. We stumbled upon O'Charley's while driving home from our vacation in the mountains. Initially, we were looking for Fuddruckers, because my husband was really wanting one of their hamburgers, but this place was nowhere to be found. I guess our GPS lied to us...lol! So the decision was made to have lunch at O'Charley's instead. The hostess seated us in the back of the restaurant, where storage fans and brooms were sitting out. None of the tables around us were occupied. We waited 15-20 minutes for our waitress to take our orders. A little too long for me, but we were not in a hurry. She brought out some bread rolls and butter before the main meals were served. To me, this was the only good thing I ate there. The bread rolls were very warm and tasty. I had the loaded potato soup and tossed salad with ranch dressing. I ate about three bites of my salad which was mostly iceberg lettuce and a few other veggies. My first thought was, "how do you make a salad taste bland"? I made my husband taste it just to make sure, and he even agreed it was bland. I then decided to try my potato soup. Honestly I have had better soup from a can! The potato's were hard and looked like thick french fries, and the bacon tasted like "Bacon Bits" that you put on salads! There was probably only one tablespoon of shredded cheese on the soup also. I ate about three bites of the soup before I pushed it to the other side of the table. My husband ordered some "twelve-spiced chicken pasta". He says to me, "for this to have twelve spices in it, it sure tastes weak and bland"! He wanted me to try it, but I declined. My daughter liked her huge bowl of penne pasta. It was so big it should've come with a lifeguard...lol! I'm fairly certain that we won't be frequenting any O'Charley's again in the future. This place was subpar, the salad that I got was good but out of the six of us that came here my salad was the best thing that came out of that kitchen. The prime rib was more of a mediocre rib, the honey chicken didn't taste like chicken at all. The shrimp and Mac and cheese had absolutely no tase. And the tacos were just awful. The loaded potato soup was the worst thing I have ever tasted, and I love to EVERYTHING so it stands out when I don't like something. It was impossible to get the disgusting taste out of my mouth. With one exception, the ambiance, service, and food were as excellent as we have come to expect. The salmon was cooked to perfection. While I had the cedar planked salmon, my companion had the salmon and steak dinner. Again, the salmon was freat. The steak was presented well done instead of the medium she requested. She doesn't want to waste anything so she did not want to return it. I did let the server know and she could plainly see gave over done it was.She notified the manager who came to the table, agreed and tried to offer a replacement. Again my guest demurred. The manager did reduce the meal by 50% which was quite reasonable and acceptable to us. We will be returning soon. read more

I am writing this review on the two occasion that I've went to this location. My first time eating at this restaurant was okay. It was during lunch time with co-workers. I don't recall what I ate but I know it was an okay meal. The 2nd time I came was during dinner hours with two friends. It was rather busy and when we arrived but we still decided to eat there. For the next 30 minutes no one, came to bring us water, menus, nothing. Several waiters and waitresses made eye contact with us but never even bother asking if anyone has ever served us. The food was okay. The server dropped off our food and came back about 10-12 minutes later. When she came back, she said everything's good and started to walk away. I said both of our steaks were well done (they were supposed to be medium). She said "why didn't you tell me?" Really...you just dropped off our food and went away and now that I'm telling you, you're gonna ask why didn't I tell you? What a stupid comment. Natalie, if you were a good waitress, you'd have noticed both were black when bringing them to our table. I wanted to cut into it before saying something, but she left quickly. It was hard and chewy (I order my steaks medium rare) , it was nothing but grissle. I just kept chewing and chewing. My broccoli was raw with absolutely no seasoning. It was brought to the managers attention. After they try to "tenderize" the steak more after it's cooked. Um... okay.‍ Then the manager came over. I ordered to go today. They completely screwed up my order. What is wrong with the restaurants in the area? 9 times out of 10 they screw something up. I paid extra for a wedge salad and they gave me a crappy regular salad. The pasta I ordered was shoved into a too small container and the devil eggs were in a giant container floating around. It is absurd that they can't get a simple order correct and when you notify them nothing is done. Another bad dining experience in Houston county which appears to be a norm instead of an exception. Just a normal chain restaurant with below par food. I ordered the potato cheese soup and the chicken fried steak. The soup tasted like nacho cheese with bacon and onion. While good on chips, it makes for a pretty bad soup. I am 99% sure that the chicken fried was frozen, it came out over done and hard as a rock. The gravy wasn't much better. If I hadn't been on a plane all day, I would have sent it back. Since it was Wednesday, we all got free pie. However, they were out of the pecan pie and replaced it with a frozen piece of chocolate silk with the server suggesting that it was better frozen. Nope! The server was good and fast. I ordered the honey covered fried chicken with sweet potato mash and Mac n cheese. It was ok, not great but not bad. The mac n cheese must have had crack in it because it was amazing. The chicken needed more honey and the sweet potatoes were ok. The friend green tomatoes appetizer comes with 5 tomato slices, battered fried and topped with BBQ sauce. Don't even thing about trying the spinach artichoke dip. It has a sweet fermented cheese as opposed to the traditional Parmesan. The only thing i could consume was the chips and salsa. Service, food and ambience were all wonderful. The steak I had was at least as good as Outback. The complimentary bread is similar to Logan's Roadhouse but maybe better. It came out hot and buttery. Lastly I think the pie is some of the best around. I've only had the chocolate pie because that's all I like. This place should easily get 4 stars if not 5. I of course give it a 5. I have been there twice in the last week and haven't been disappointed. It's my new go to place in town. read more
