The entire restaurant is empty except us and the people who are in the next booth who are evidently on a first date. He's talking loudly and about stuff I don't want to hear about. I went to the bathroom, no TP... come back out to overcooked rolls and no plates to put them on. The restaurant itself is absolutely awful...carpet is old and filthy, bathroom fixtures are rusted, door stall locks are missing, floor tiles are old and crumbling, booths are uncomfortable, material is cracking/peeling. My wife and I stopped at this O'Charleys #384 on February 2nd. We had eaten at many in the past so we thought this would be comparable. We were wrong. The red sangria was comparable with diluted Cool Aid. I ordered the Cedar Salmon and specifically asked that it be prepared medium. when it arrived it was beyond well done. I managed to poke around the center of the filet to find something edible but only managed to eat about 1/3. when I told the server he said he asked his manager and the manager said since I ate most of it they couldn't do anything to offset the bill. I got the country style steak with Mac n cheese and sweet mashed potatoes. The mac n cheese was very mediocre, not that much cheese or flavor. The sweet mashed potatoes were sweet but it didn't taste like anything. The country style steak was a ground beef patty with gravy onions and mushrooms. Nothing extravagant, just very mediocre food. Didn't hate it but also didn't love it. For $15 it will fill you up, maybe I didn't get the best option from the menu, but overall it seems to be a very average restaurant. Free pie Wednesday. Get an entree and get free pie. Walked in during lunch time and was immediately seated. Beverly took my order. She was very pleasant. Their new menu with lunch specials is very good. I ordered the shrimp scampi. First came the hot rolls then the main meal. The scampi was a little spicy which added to the flavor. My family and I have gone to O'Charley's for several years, and it's our favorite neighborhood restaurant whenever we're all in town visiting. We normally have a fine experience, but unfortunately this was not the case during our latest visit. We went yesterday for a birthday dinner as a party of 6. Our server was nice, but unfortunately the service was one of the worst we've had. - Our friend asked for coffee first, and then tea to come with the food. When everyone else got their drinks, she said she'd be right back with the coffee, but didn't come back. By the time the food arrived, still no coffee (or tea) - We also asked for straws since 2 in our party weren't comfortable drinking from the glass. We never got those either and ended up asking another server for them. Between this and not bringing the coffee, half of our table wasn't drinking anything for the first half hour we were there. - My mother who isn't a native speaker accidentally ordered her steak medium well. I went up to our server immediately after, and corrected it to a medium rare order. When the dish came out, it was medium well. When we pointed it out to the server, she asked if we wanted another one ... which of course we. She took the first steak back and brought a new one, which was cooked just fine. - We also realized later on, that we were charged for both steaks. It was our fault for not checking the receipt, but we were shocked to see being charged for two steaks when we got home. - My brother asked for ranch and buffalo sauce with his meal... he got honey mustard instead. He also asked for lemon with water, which it didn't come with. Again, our server was nice throughout our whole dinner, and very sweet in wishing our friend a happy birthday and bringing a complimentary dessert when we mentioned it. We tried to be patient and nice throughout the experience, but the issues just kept adding up. Having been a server myself, I would have always apologized for any issues that arose and been as attentive as possible, but not once were any of the errors acknowledged. The food was otherwise tasty as usual. A few other issues with the experience in general - unrelated to service: - the restaurant has been freeeeezing the last several times we've gone. The broccoli wasn't steamed well, rolls didn't rise, ribs were under seasoned and dry, the drinks were watered down and the staff/management need to be retrained. Placed a to go order of 2 crab cakes and the pasta with shrimp. The food was absolutely horrible. The crab cakes were burnt and the flavor made them awful. I could not eat them and had to throw them away. I next tried the pasta and the shrimp and I have never had shrimp that was that tough and rubbery. Probably overcooked. They were the worst shrimp pasta I have ever had. For those 2 items my total was over 29.00. I could not eat either one. Totally disappointed and disgusted by the quality of the food. read more

We chose the hightop, but waited quite awhile for any acknowledgement of us sitting there until I flagged down the waitress who was attending to tables around us. It was exactly what you get from a chain food eatery. Kim did a great job as a waitress. The food came out as promised, hot and as order. Kim did a good job servicing us. Their rolls were soft an hit which added to the overall meal experience. The vegetables were Ala dente and lots of choices . We had the plank salmon and it was well spiced and not over cooked. The Cajun sirloin remains my favorite. The steak was cooked correctly and the Cajun butter to melt on it was the perfect flavor. Our group also had the pork chops. Thin but tasty. Perhaps over spiced but decent old timey meal. The place was clean and a typical cookie cutter eatery. read more

She ordered her favorite dish, the chicken tenders and fries and I had the Southern Pecan Chicken Tender Salad. Sorry to say she was very disappointed. She said the chicken tenders didn't look like anything she had there in the past. I had to agree. They were very thin and dry, as were mine in the salad. Additionally, the Pecan Chicken Tenders looked exactly like hers, although they were described differently on the menu. Because we were there for a particular occasion, I didn't make an issue of it. The fries were so underdone I had to throw them back in the oven myself because they were basically raw. The only redeeming aspect were the buns and the chicken strips (that still happened to be soggy). Ordered a Bud Light and it tasted distinctly of cleaning fluid. The waitress did not seem at all surprised when I pointed it out. Great sign. Ordered a cup of Loaded "Potato" "Soup." I put potato and soup in quotation marks because this was not a soup and I could not detect potatoes. It was more like cheese fondue. And boy, it was disgusting. My wife and son found it to be an acceptable dip for their fries, however. Now we turn our attention to the club sandwich. Let's just say this is not a club I wish to be a part of. Friendly staff 5 stars Hostess was fast, polite, & turned down the AC because it was freezing cold. Manager was friendly and ran our card for us instead of waiting for server. Server 3 stars Server was friendly and polite but rarely checked in on us. My sauces were not brought out til the 2nd time I asked. Server seemed slow or overworked. Server said they only had the "regular" hot tea, but turned out it was green tea which most people don't consider regular tea. Hot water for tea was brought out in a Styrofoam to go cup. Food 2 stars I love the fact that there is a big menu but it was less than average. Chicken strips. This is supposedly their specialty but they were Luke warm in spots and cold in others. The taste was somewhat pleasant but didn't wow me as worth getting again. The main benefit was being able to order like 8 different dipping sauces which made it better but still not "very good" food. Mac and Cheese was lukewarm to cold and not even as good as most boxed Mac and cheese at grocery stores. The mashed sweet potatoes were the best of everything at slightly above average. We ate here to celebrate my upcoming birthday with another family we were visiting. Upon arriving, we waited for seating for about 15 minutes. The host was pleasant enough and made our party of 10 feel welcome. We were given a waitress who wasn't familiar with the menu and very disengaged. We waited almost 45 minutes after ordering for our food. We ate 4 baskets of bread and an appetizer while waiting. Once the food arrived for the children in the party, one of the kids who ordered grilled cheese said their sandwich smelled burnt. After further investigation, indeed it was. Burned and then turned inside so that no one could tell. This happened to two children. They offered to remake and we finally received the new food after everyone pretty much was done. After speaking with the manager, he offers free dessert to the 2 children who had burnt food leaving out the other 3 children. We got Delivery! Hubby and I ordered here yesterday and it was so good that we decided to order from here again today! Obviously we tried something different ;) Today bacon cheeseburger, breaded chicken salad, chicken Parmesan. Yesterday O'Charley's French dip! Both times our food came hot and VERY neatly packaged. I can not express how excited I got to see how you guys took the time to carefully package our food... separate lettuce and tomato from hot burger and bun, putting the breaded chicken in foil to keep warm so I could put it over the salad so it wouldn't wilt while being delivered. Oh and Thank you for not adding onions. It's great when someone pays attention to the special requests. It's the little things that make me happy and keep coming back :) We are thinking about trying the ribs tomorrow! Or maybe that French dip again! P.s. Please work on the strawberry cheesecake. It is so small especially for the price. And if I could recommend placing the fresh strawberry and drizzle in a separate container so the juice doesn't run all through the bag ;) read more

My husband snd I went for lunch today around 1:30. It was a Saturday and the place was pretty busy. We had a very nice waitress... can't remember her name.... Killeen... Kireen.... not sure. She did a good job with all she had to do.... which was too much!! Not enough staff!! The poor girl was working herself to death! When we got there.... we had to wait.... nearly 30 minutes.... I was ok with that.... until I looked over the restaurant and saw dozens of empty tables that two people could have easily squeezed into. Several parties before us actually left due to the long wait. We got the Rib Eyes... 10 ozs.... with a salad and loaded potatoes and a side of mushrooms. The steak was sooo full of fat and gristle that I actually almost choked to death and had to pull it out my throat or I would have died.... and I am NOT exaggerating!! I was trying to tell my husband I was choking... but he was enjoying his baked potato... which was good... but did not help me as I was choking. I ended up having to reach down my throat and as gently as I could pull the gristle back up my throat. My eyes were bulging by then! It was totally scary! I lost my appetite quickly after that and just wanted out of there..... but there is NO quickly at this place. We had a gift card for $25 and I put that with my credit card in the little pay package and the waitress took forever to get back to us... then she took it and was gone a long time... slapped it all back in the table and said she was sorry.... but the gift card was giving her problems and she would get back to us. So we waited... and waited... I was calling the OCharley number on the back of the card and she took it away and said she would figure it out. She did. I know the gift cards can be a pain. I hate them, myself... so I do not put the blame for that on her. She did her best. But the long wait in a near empty restaurant... the near death experience from choking and the long wait just to leave has made this our LAST visit to OCharleys.
