My family of 5 came in Thursday march 27th, 2025 at around 4pm, we walk in and stand waiting for someone for 5 min. Then Once the host comes over she tells us the wait will be atleast 5 min., I look around the restaurant and notice there are only about 6 tables that have people at them, so I ask why is there a wait if the restaurant is not busy at all more like dead, she tells me there are only 2 servers and she has to figure out what server to give us too, this was absolutely unacceptable to us because she should have already had an idea of who the next table should go to, we picked this place because it was not busy so we were happy there would be no wait, so she disappears and after waiting 2 min without an sight of her we decide your restaurant was too understaffed to want our business, went next door to cheddars where we were welcomed with a greet and friendly service from the door. Super duper take out! My parents live in Erie and have been getting takeout from O'Charley's all through Covid. Things are bagged up well and they make an extra attempt to be sure the ingredients are presented well - for instance, the chicken salad came with the chicken wrapped separately in foil. This past weekend we ordered a large take-out for family and I was a bit nervous to not "check" it before we got home. No worries. It was completely accurate despite several modifications. What REALLY makes it for us is that my mom met someone who used to work at this location. She told my mom she's worked in many restaurants and this is the cleanest kitchen she's ever seen. Consistently good food, we come here at least once every year we visit Erie. The service was a bit slow at first but we came in late (8:30pm) and after traveling all day, we were admittedly a little "hangry." O'Charley's is a great restaurant. Prices are affordable and service to the management is important. I always feel special when I eat there. It is the only place that I know where the manager actually walks though the restaurant speaking to customers making sure that the customer is getting good service. I say this because this location always seems to be the exception to the national specials, for instance, this year I got burned on the veterans day special. I went in on veterans day, because the website said I could and boom, this location picked its own day, which happened to be the next. So always check ahead, because this place takes "participating locations" to the extreme. I wasn't the only veteran who got fooled, (well we didn't check), I mean we "should" have, but who ever really does this? Anyways, asked about it and staff wouldn't budge, looked around and saw the place was stuffed with veterans on veterans day and realized pleading my case would be a waste of time and ordered. I was hungry and my group traveled a long way to come here so we just sucked it up and ordered. Our steaks were delicious! Portion was a little small, but it was very good. The vegetable situation was very sparse. I mean I got like 4 sprigs of asparagus and half a cup of broccoli, I really thought I would have received a lot more greens. Bread was very sweet, like almost cookie sweet, it was good bread though. Although the place wasn't very busy, average I would say, our waitress was extremely slow and often forgot to bring us our drinks. It also took a long time for our food to get to us, thankfully it was hot. We had to ask other waitresses to bring us our drinks as they passed by, because ours was MIA most of the time. I would go back, the food was very good, I just wish I had more greens and that management would have offered veterans the special that day or something else, for the veterans who would never have thought to check into a place that is nationally advertising that particular day as the day of the special. The tater tot fondue sounded great on the menu, but turned out to be pretty disappointing. The tater tots were overcooked and the cheese that they came with tasted kind of sour and had an odd texture. Boyfriend enjoyed his baby back ribs for the most part, but I was less pleased with my choice of the chicken tenders entree. I'm quite picky with my chicken tenders. These were too dry. I have been here a couple of times. Each time I had a great experience. As of lately my dietary requirements had changed and I was very nervous to going out to eat. I figured I would only be able to eat a romaine salad without any dressing. As I was going through the menu and feeling bad that the waitress had to ask the chef so many questions I just ordered the few items I knew I could eat a salad and mushrooms. Well after the waitress took our order to the back George Schoeder the Service Manager came over and talked to us about all the food they served and if there was anything specific to meet my dietary needs. I am very grateful for the personalized attention this restaurant took to ensure my requirements were met and my visit was enjoyable. We stopped in Saturday evening with our toddler. Your staff was very kind and great during the restrictions. While waiting for our table, your host was who stood out to us. He noticed our son becoming inpatient as he is a tiny guy. He quickly asked if he was hungry and grabbed a small bag of goldfish to offer him. As a parent, that was a very small but very kind action on his part! I was very disappointed with my experience. When we showed up, we noticed the waiting area was full. This was odd because more than half of the tables were empty. The stated wait time was 20-30 minutes, which we accepted because we weren't in a hurry. While waiting, I noticed the pace of the staff was slow and noticed one staff member giving others a hard time several times. We were seated at almost exactly 30 minutes, which was fine. After being seated, we or ordered our drinks and food at the same time. My drink never came (my families did). The server never returned to ask if we needed anything. While waiting for our food, we noticed again how slow things were moving. There seemed to be enough staff but no sense of urgency. Floors were dirty, and tables were not cleaned well. 38 minutes later, our food came. I politely asked for my drink order to be canceled and for a water instead. Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch before heading home on a 4 hour drive. We had three people in our party and we ordered an appetizer and burgers with fries. The appetizer came really quickly and was pretty good but the actual food took forever. I'm not sure if our waitress was upset, tired or just unhappy, but we were given some unpleasant looks for no reason. I wish I could say that we enjoyed our meal but I can't. Daughter's bun was soggy and her Turkey burger tasted odd. One burger was missing bacon and the other burger that was supposed to have no onions had onion. The burgers were both pretty greasy overall which made for a pretty uncomfortable ride home for all of us. We have been disappointed lately with the lack of staffing at some of our local restaurants to include O'Charley's. We stopped a couple of weeks ago and were told they were closed due to lack of staffing. So we tried again tonight to see if things might be different and they were. The hostess was very professional and our server was probably one of the best we have ever had in our dining out experience. She did not even write our order down. Pretty amazing. The food was quickly brought out and it was all very good. The only set back was my wife's steak was overcooked but they corrected it immediately and we were back to enjoying a tremendous meal. So glad to be able to get out and enjoy things again and so appreciative of all of the hostesses, servers, cooks and all those that are helping us get back to normal. read more

Went here tonight (Friday) for a late dinner around 9:30pm. The place wasn't busy at all and they put us in a cost booth. I like the look of the place inside, it has a really nice decor. We were greeted promptly by our waitress, Amy, who was very positive and gave us a few recommendations of food items on the menu. We ordered the chicken finger platter and the pecan crusted chicken finger salad. They first brought out fresh dinner rolls and whipped butter, nice and soft and warm. Shortly thereafter they brought us our entrees which were piping hot. Both tasted really good, though i lean towards the chicken finger dinner as the breading tasted a bit better. We had told out waitress earlier that it was our first time at their restaurant and the Manager, Ralph, came over and asked us how were were doing and welcomed us into the place. We were really impressed with everyone's friendliness here! For dessert we had the cherry pie and the apple pie. The crust was perfect on both but the cherry filling was a bit too sweet for me, the Apple was perfect. All in all a great experience and we will definitely be back! read more

Was on vacation and thought I'd stop here and try it out and the reviews were great and food looked good but on the inside that was not the best place I've been. The wait was long and when we finally got inside we ordered chicken fingers and fries. The fries were spicy and when we ordered we asked the waiter for barbecue sauce and she wrote it down but didn't bring it. Then they proceeded to take 10 minutes to get the barbecue sauce for us which annoyed me especially because they were not that busy. After we were done with our food we waited 15 minutes for the check and when we finally asked for it the waiter was snooty and couldn't have cared less. On top of that the food also took 30 minutes just to make when it should've been half that time. While the food was pretty good the service was slow and didn't quite make the cut. read more
