The outside doesn't scream coffee shop , in fact it's kind of an "IYKYK" type places because it's right in plain sight and I passed it for awhile before knowing what it was. Thanks to the San Antonio coffee fb group for all of the recommendations! They have a pretty expansive menu as well as plenty of delicious looking baked goods ! They have some cbd options too but I didn't try any of those. I tried the iced texas Star - flavorful and great espresso flavor. I do wish they used smaller ice cubes so the drink would last just a tiny bit longer. I also tried their chocolate croissant. Good, but would've been better warmed up! I don't remember if they offered that. My friend had the matcha and she loved it. They recently got a new matcha and she was worried because she loved the other one but was pleasantly surprised how smooth and delicious this one was as well. I definitely need to go back and try their matcha as well as other menu items because everything sounds so good. 1 star taken off because it is very hard to navigate with a stroller which is a bummer because I know tons of moms that love to venture out and find new coffee shops. On the plus side, clean restrooms with a changing table which is hard to come by!

While in the area I stumbled upon Barrio Barista when I was looking for a spot to get some work…read moredone and hang out with my Mom for a coffee. Yelp steered me right and brought me here on a Thursday morning. Walking in I wasn't sure if this was only a coffee/tea spot or if they sold cocktails and beers too. The bar area and decor lends itself to look like an old bar and it has great vibes! No beer or cocktails here but they do have a seemingly delicious menu! We didn't eat anything while we were here because we had breakfast prior to coming in. The menu had an array of offerings and sandwiches that I could see myself coming back and trying in the future. I ordered a Mexican Mocha and my mom had a cold brew. Service was fast and friendly. We found a nice spot close to the windows and I was able to look around at all the relics around and displayed at the front entrance. After we got our drinks, one of the owners or managers, walked around offering delicious slices of lemon frost cake. I was so appreciative that this just made our delicious coffee even better! I saw many students and other folks reading and studying while we were here. The atmosphere lends itself to do so too as it is chill, quiet, and quaint. I will definitely be back again. This spot was super unique and I really love their smart branding and logos/brand identity.

Savory and sweet items on the menu to choose from. I had the Westside Barbacoa grilled cheese and tomato soup combo and Mexican mocha. I enjoyed my meal in a cozy, intimate booth where I relaxed and enjoyed a local jazz radio station while I ate. Lots of seating and plugs to hook up your electronics. The place gives you "mi casa es su casa" vibes. I will be back to try some pastries and specialty drinks. A pleasant surprise is they have a loyalty card. So after a few purchases you get 1 free! Ay te wacho ( see you later)

Cool diamond art displayed throughout store space, a compost bin, and area of their specialized coffee for sale. I appreciated their menu of coffee varieties, breakfast/lunch menu, and home made pastries. But, especially was thankful and grateful that any of their special coffee menu items could be made decaffeinated. Thank you so much!! I can only tolerate decaf. I chose Spanish Romance decaf, sub with coconut milk. Absolutely delicious! Not too sweet and loved the chocolate, hazelnut, and coconut notes. My friend ordered a blueberry scone- all pastries made in house and was packed with blueberries. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop in!

The atmosphere was calming and quiet enough place to relax if you want. The lady at the front was nice to us and gave us some good recommendations. My friend has a glutten allergy so the lady made sure to recommend options that would be best for her. My coffee was a ice white mocha with lavender and blackberry. It was really delicious and not overwhelming on the coffee or sweet. I would come back here just for this drink again. We also ordered these bacon, egg bites I thought were decent and easy to walk around with (would be good with some sauce). I definitely would come back here again to try more coffee or even the cute coffee flights they offered. Looking forward to the next visit.

When you enter the place, it was very colorful and fun decore. The seats were like sofa couches and very comfortable. They also have a corner to take pictures for Instagram or social media if you like. Very fun concept and setup. The moment we walked in we were greeted immediately and the lady really went into the menu for us. She was very knowledgeable and can tell she enjoys what she does and the drinks she made. She said she can make any of the drinks how we want (less sweet or more, any type of milk, etc). I loved her energy and I had fun small talk with the other person working there too. Great staff for sure. They have alot of fun drinks but ended up ordering ube matcha. Loved the look and colors of the drink off the bat. The taste itself was very sweet (reminded me of a cereal I had when younger; maybe apple jacks). I really did like it but was a bit sweet for me. I would definitely come back here soon to try another drink and maybe a muffin.
