Used my fidelity national insurance to get a garage tune up and was neat learning from Jason who was my technician today. I learned a ton. He did spot that my rollers in the house we bought which we are the second owners were used and abused and would wear out soon. He didn't hard sell me just warned me that they may wear out soon. I inquired if they were covered by the insurance which they were not covered but the price to replace wasn't bad. Since he was here I asked if it was an easy job and quick job so it saved him a trip and me any extra time from my schedule. Friendly family owned company. I wanted to wait a month to see how the garage door fared after Shawn had fixed it and so far so good so here goes. I think I spoke to about a half dozen places all with 4-5 star ratings on Yelp to get an estimate on fixing my garage door. They all recommended I replace the entire door for thousands of dollars and with about a 4-6 week lead time. So for 4-6 weeks I would be unable to use my garage. Then came Shawn from o Donnel who took a look at a video of the problem and said he could try to fix the issue instead of replacing the whole door. He basically Macguyvered it and thought outside the box and now my door is back in business. He fixed it within hours so I didn't have to wait over a month to use the garage. I was assigned to this company by my home warranty and had a terrible experience. They claimed my issue was "water moisture" even though no water damage was present. Also, it had just rained. I was assigned this contractor from my warranty company. If you are assigned this company demand you that you are assigned another company! They are the worse! The tech was nice enough but it started not looking good after they said my board was fried and weren't sure if the warranty company would approve it. The reality is that they knew it would require a new garage door opener and didn't want anything to do with it because they couldn't do it for 85 bucks. Lol. That's not how the system works. It's a warranty for a reason and they chose to be a contractor. They are just rolling the dice hoping all the jobs are small and require no work. It all came to a head when I tried to reach out again 3 weeks after their initial visit! My warranty company approved the repair. They were not answering my multiple calls so I texted them and still no response. So I called from a different number and instantly picked up! These scammers were screening my calls and were purposely not answering! So shady and unprofessional and cowardly. Didn't even think to give me a call to explain their side. In the end I called my warranty company and told them the story and recommended they never assign anyone to this company again as they are scammers. I told them I refuse to let them in my house again and to reassign me. They did and however the next one goes it cannot be worse than this scammer company. read more

They are not a member of BB nor accredited by better business bureau. They screwed me over like other reviews said by not performing a real last fix and lying to home warranty company about it. I was assigned this company through my home warranty. They were scheduled to come out on March 8, 2024 at 9 AM with a technician named Hector. They showed up March 1, 2024 calling me asking where I was. I explained to them that they were scheduled to come out the following Friday. He apologized and said there must've been some mixup. I took the day off on March 8, 2024 and nobody showed up. Nobody called. Then I receive a bill from my home warranty company for $85! I disputed the charge, but O'Donnell doors said that I know showed and the home warranty company, Fidelity, who will never use again, sided with O'Donnell doors. Not only did I have to pay the $85 but they never even offered to come back out and look at the garage door! BUYER BEWARE! I would never use this company or Fidelity home warranty Again, as I stated before the appointment was for March 8, 2024. Clearly this company will not own up to their mistakes. This is not a good company. They were sent from my home warranty and are only out for themselves. From the moment he arrived you can tell he was rushing to leave, was annoyed I was asking questions, and looking for any possible issue he could find to turn around and call it "secondary damage"so that the warranty wouldn't pay for it and I would have to pay his company out of pocket for a new unit and more than likely up-charge me in the process. I got a second opinion and everything on his "list of issues" turns out is simply due to my unit being over 20 year old, not secondary damage, and therefore should be covered by my warranty. The second company came and the level of service and attention to detail was night and day compared to odonell doors. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a second opinion before giving them a dime of your money. read more

I don't review often, so for what it's worth please consider this "special": Shawn was originally called out as a function of my home warranty kicking in to cover my motor not functioning. On the warranty's dime, he replaced nearly every part over the course of a couple of weeks and just wouldn't work. In the end, this would have been a battle between me and the warranty company (good luck) and I would likely still be fighting to get a garage door motor. Instead, Shawn called the manufacturer and pulled all the strings he could... he fought for the replacement and wound up getting an entirely new, very upgraded unit from the company. My garage door opener stopped receiving signals. They asked about changes that could be interfering with the signal. I told them nothing had changed before and after it stopped working. They did not check the circuit board in the garage door opener which can cause this kind of failure, but still wrote a report of blocked signals, despite evidence to the contrary. My garage door was working intermittently, and I had done everything I could do. Submitted a service request through my home warranty, and the job w2as assigned to O'Donnel Doors. Hector arrived on time, greeted me friendly, and set to work. He very quickly discovered a sensor wire that had been pulled too tight and had become frayed and was shorting out. Hector corrected the issues and the opener runs flawlessly. I learned that the sensors are only required in CA, and so are not covered, but Hector corrected the wiring problem as a courtesy. These guys are top notch, I was referred to them by my Fidelity Home Warranty. My double garage door would not open, making a noise but wouldn't open. Maria, their office person was great! She found out their repairman was in my area and added me to his afternoon workload. Jason came and took a look it was a broken gear sprocket, repaired it...all good as new. I had a guest coming same day and didn't want them having to deal with a broken garage door, not fun. I never expected they would get out to my house the same day and be able to fix it and not have to order parts etc. Happy to have a tech like Jason to quickly assess and fix. The person they sent from jump had a complete attitude not a people person who shouldn't be working with with people with an attitude. My garage door was working but the button had to be held down to close. After the worker who never even gave me his name came then the garage door wouldn't close at all then proceeded to tell me i broke the motor.
