I had a real problem. 4 years ago I had a house fire and my garage had not been opened in 4 YEARS. I Was horrified to open it. God knows what can grow in a dark garage in four years but I built up my courage changed the batteries in the remote held my breath pushed the open button and absolutely nothing happened. Next I found the emergency key I was told I could use if the remote wasn't working. Just like the remote the key also absolutely didn't open the garage. I asked my neighbors if they knew of a garage door repair company all three had no recommendations. My neighborhood had a scheduled power outage, and when it finally came back on hours later, the the garage motor seemed to have crapped out. A bit disappointing because I had it replaced not even five years. But before deciding on getting a new one, I figure I'd use the Yelp feature and find vendors who might be able to resolve the issue without breaking the bank. A few responded quickly - some already with a fee (without even looking at the problem yet, mind you) but I got drawn to SoCal Garage Door Pros because not only were they quick to respond, it was also a free consultation, and that they'll assess the problem and costs after the inspection. I was lucky enough to communicate with Michael who responded within a minute at each correspondence. He was available within a couple of hours. However! Some bizarre thing happened: the garage motor started working again. (Disappointed at he brand no more!) Can't even explain that. So I quickly notified Michael that we no longer needed their services. So they bait people with $19 bids and of course once out here they say that was just the cost of the estimate. All others offered free estimates. I listed the scope of work I wanted done on my request for a bid that went out to several companies. This company responded and agreed to do the project for $19!
