I found O'Hara's to be a very cute, cozy and fun place to just chill, have a drink and enjoy those appetizers! I loved the music and overall vibe and would definitely recommend! My expectations of bars are fairly minimal. I'm really going there to have a drink and probably watch some TV while writing some emails, writing some texts, or doing something productive. Came here for a quick bite, place was empty and about 6 people at the bar. However the service was a little slow. Food however came out quick but the drinks were we were waiting for. They should come out before the food but they didn't to the point I saw them just sitting at the bar waiting to be picked up. On Saturday March 19th, we came to O'Hara's. Of course, we came to watch and cheer on the PEACOCKS! Since we came early, we were able to get seats. Others had to stand to watch the game. O'Hara's isn't fancy. However, it has a lot of "Old Charm! Customer service was good and friendly! O'Hara's has two levels. We sat on the second level. The first round of drinks we're on the house. I ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Guava and Lychee Martini. Surprisingly, the Cab.came from a twist off bottle. It actually was pretty decent. The Martini was definitely Fabulicious!!!! During the evening, two rounds of buffet munchies came out. The food was fair and went very quickly. The buffet consisted of meat sliders, quesadillas and buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken was very good!!! In general, the food could've been a little warmer. At an additional price, you could order additional food from the menu. we ordered prime rib sliders. Sliders were decent but a little dry. Fries came with the order. However, the fries were way too greasy. All of Saturday evening's patrons were so pumped up watching the Peacocks play and of course win! Parking is a BIG PROBLEM in this general area. Don't even think of parking in ShopRite because I know someone who had their car towed. We used a parking app SpotHero to reserve a parking garage spot at 160 Morton Street Garage. We did get a spot, but another problem occurred. Anyway, O'Hara's is a happening place to watch sports and the St. Peter's PEACOCKS!!! read more

Ordered wings, chili, cheesesteak eggsrolls, steak sandwich, tostadas, side salad. Most of the food was microwaved or taken off of the heating lamp. Wings were gummy and cold. Eggrolls were decent, chili tasted like it was store bought. Cheesesteak tasted like it was also store bought and also cold. Salad was decent, how can you screw that up. I said something to Alan the manager about the wings. I told him it was cold was most likely microwaved. He told me they are freshly deep fried and I told him it was deep fried earlier than reheated in microwave. He corrected himself and said they are baked and deep fried once ordered. I told him than why were they gummy and the skin cold? He told me he'd take the wings off out of courteous. He brought me two receipts one read $130 and the second $99. He said don't worry about the larger bill and snatched the bill out of hands. I looked at the second bill and he already charged me 18% tip without my consent. I told him he can't do that because it was a party of 2 and not over 6. He said it was on the menu and he can do whatever he wants. We were about to leave and my Amex alert told me I was charged $130 instead of $99 like he said. I asked what happened and he said he edited the charge and I told him that's not what happens. He needs to cancel the $130 and recharge me for $99. He told me I'm wrong and that he can edit the charge after the charge was made. I'll be calling Amex tomorrow. Also Alan doesn't eat wings so he doesn't know what wings are supposed to taste like. Don't go here. It's a waste of your time, money. I am writing this lovely review while I've been siting on my toilet for the last thirty minutes. Please go out of business again. read more

It's rare for a place to check all the boxes like O'Haras does. It appeals to everyone, and does multiple things extremely well: Neighborhood bar: casual atmosphere, great place to watch a sports game on one of their many TVs. But it's so much more including trivia nights and karaoke nights(!), so you'll find something entertaining no matter the day of the week. Dining: Normally, pub food is passable at best; you wouldn't think of having a nice dinner out at a pub. But O'Haras has been challenging this preconception with a variety of options that align much closer to "date night in Hoboken"; I recently had the New England clam chowder (yum) and the strip steak cooked to perfection. And of course the pub staples are great if you want something more casual (def try the wings - so great!). Drinks: Yes, you can get a Titos & club here. But did you know they have a rotating selection of specialty cocktails? In the winter that means "adult" coquito and hot chocolate - the spiked hot chocolate came with toasted marshmallows and definitely packed a kick! And the spiked coquito came complete with cinnamon sticks and went down way too smoothly - you'll definitely want more than 1! Event space: O'Haras has an entire upstairs room with a full bar that you can reserve for private events - I went to a Yelp event here a couple of years ago and a Halloween bar crawl this year - both fun evenings! Don't sleep on this place - if you've been here years ago, they've been constantly reinventing their vibe and their menu. And the owner and staff are super nice and attentive. On the corner of Marin Blvd and 1st St. Only a few blocks away from the Grove St Path station this place will provide ur every need. Great place to watch sports. Several TV's in the bar area and a few more around the dining area. They have daily specials like TRIVIA AND TACO TUESDAY'S, WEDNESDAY IS KARAOKE, Thursday Friday Saturday DJs. I been there for all them events and all were a fun time. The trivia can get u some prizes. And karaoke there are some really good singers on Wednesday. The DJ plays some good mixes. And usually gets crowded on a Friday and Saturday night. There might be a $10 cover after 10 pm. So show up before so u don't have to pay. The drinks here are nice and strong I usually get bourbon on the rocks. But the bartenders have a nice pour. The food here is above average bar food. I usually get Thier wings. They r really good. And they also have much more. Make ur own burgers. And different types of bar pies. The meat lovers is my favorite. I seen a few entrees and they looked really delicious. They added a new area to O'Haras it's called the Loft. The Loft area is a newly renovated section of O'Haras where you can rent it out for private parties or for any special occasion. The area is beautiful well designed with Its own private bar area, huge TVs, a video arcade game, fooshball and plenty of seating. I actually found O'Hara's Downtown through Yelp when I was bored on a Saturday night and I'm happy I did! The bar was packed but the seating options were plentiful! My Fiancé and I grabbed a beer at a table and ordered some sliders and loaded tater tots ( I LOVE WHEN PLACES HAVE TOTS ). The walls were covered with license plates and funny saying which definitely kept us entertained during the wait. The food is what you'd expect from a bar - so don't come expecting too much. Our waitress was friendly and quick, the only real down fall to this place is parking. There is zero to no parking we drove around for quite a bit of time before finding a spot and then we had to walk a few blocks to get to the bar. Visited during Father's Day since this is my dads favorite bar! O'hara's is a low key spot with good drinks and food! Upon walking in, it's the typical bar atmosphere. The inside has a spacious bar area, plenty of seats surrounding the bar and a patio. The walls are also filled with signs and cute decor. To start off our evening, my sister and I ordered the jack punch and jolly rancher fish bowl ($14) and my dad ordered a Moscow mule. The jack punch fish bowl was strong but not disgustingly strong; it was a perfect mixture. The jolly rancher fish bowl was also good! The bowls aren't big enough for two people to share so treat yo'self! For food, I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta... delish! It was a good portion size with not too much spice I couldn't handle. My dads recommendation is the Cajun shrimp and sausage pasta! They have a pretty good selection on their menu, something for everyone. To finish the night I ordered the Strawberry pop drink which is white wine with a mixture of other ingredients topped with a popsicle! Oh btw, if your driving parking is sort of tight.
