Weird set up for a restaurant. It felt like a hotel lobby or someone's apartment lobby. I sat at the bar only and the drinks were good. Also has a pool table. I don't think I'd come back.

Came here on Saturday and it wasn't very busy. They were pretty lenient on the reservation. We had a reservation for 8pm and didn't arrive until closer to 8:20ish and they didn't give us any issues. On my Resy reservation, I stated no cheese as a dietary restriction and they confirmed this right away when we sat down which was nice and reassuring that they're paying attention to these small details. We asked to sit in one of the lounge seating (with TV) on the far right side and they happily accommodated to my surprise (since there was just 2 of us). It definitely felt like we were sitting in the VIP section and only made our experience that much better!! The menu offers just the right amount of dishes. It wasn't too much or overwhelming to decide on what to get. We decided on the market fish crudo, truffle mushroom risotto, Faroe island salmon, mushroom tempura, pommes puree, and broccolini. Let me just say that everything was soooo good and bold in flavors. My favs from the meal were the crudo and the salmon. The sauce on the crudo was so delicious, it was a soy sauce base but didn't taste too salty; topped with this crunchy chili oil and scallions - we did not want them to take this sauce away since it was too yummy and sent with everything that we ate! The fish tasted fresh and just melted in your mouth. I wish the portion was bigger because I definitely could've finished a whole thing of this myself! The salmon was perfectly cooked with the inside super tender and soft. The salmon skin was something I haven't seen before. It was sooooo crispy!! And the orzo on the dish paired perfectly with the flavors of everything on the plate. The mushroom tempura was good (it was made with oyster mushrooms) and plentiful for a side! We loved to dip this in the crudo sauce. The pommes puree was very creamy and buttery - not so great plain but we dipped it in the crudo sauce and it was really good. The service was spot on! Our server was very attentive and made sure we were enjoying our meal. Our space was frequently cleared and checked upon and waters stayed filled. Atmosphere is spacious and great for events/big group social gatherings. They have a few pool tables, a lounge feel to half of the place, and table service on the other side of the restaurant. I was shocked to see how big this place was upon entering. Definitely plan on returning in the future as it was a very elevated and chill experience. This was a great addition to the jersey city area!!

Where do I even begin! I live very close by so I am so ecstatic that such a quality place has joined the neighborhood. As soon as you step in, you can feel the community that District is trying to build. That's why there is space to socialize, play games and watch sports. The chef is an absolute genius. The mixture of flavors and textures really blew me away. We l have tried most of the menu at this point. Some of my favorites include the Caviar Toast (an elegant twist to your favorite grilled cheese), the Potato Croquette (fried to perfection) and Truffle Mushroom Risotto (umami overload). I have such a great time every time I visit. The drinks are creative and delicious. They even have a great happy hour deal. I cannot wait to see what else the chef will come up with!

This is a great after work spot! The food was excellent and service was great. There is a very nice upscale ambiance. This is a perfect location to meet friends after work or a dinner date.

Came here for my works holiday party and we had a really good time! The food was very delicious. I highly recommend the croquette and the spicy penne pasta!

I was looking forward to coming here for dinner, unfortunately The District is a restaurant I will not be returning to. While the atmosphere is great and staff were excellent, the food extremely underwhelmed me. We had the bone marrow to split and I had a Cesar salad. The steak in the bone marrow was very dry, and there was hardly any bone marrow actually in the bone. The Cesar salad was a joke of a dish. There are roughly 9-10 pieces of lettuce with croutons on each piece. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things, but personally, I do not see this place being worth it in a city full of great restaurants.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Our server was fantastic--friendly, helpful, and highly efficient. The cocktail menu leans heavily into gin, but they are happy to mix up whatever you like. I ordered a margarita and it was excellent! For dinner, I went with the steak frites. It was absolutely delicious, and the portion was so generous that I actually had to push myself to finish it. While it's on the pricier side and maybe not an everyday dining spot, it's a phenomenal choice if you're looking for a guaranteed great experience for a special night out!

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

That's a good thing to be very strong for that price I'm paying. The spam musubi was also a rip-off. You see two here, but each one costs its own $10, so save your money. Eat somewhere else. It was on a weekday, the day of NBA Finals Game 3 when everyone else were at bars & lounges getting ready for the game to start. This afforded us a beautiful and tranquil experience at Osamil Upstairs. Hidden behind a locked door inside Osamil, it's a spot you have to seek out to get in. After we shared we were going to Osamil Upstairs, the hostess from Osamil promptly unlocked the unmarked door for us to head upstairs to Osamil Upstairs. Had other customers not come out as we were walking up the stairs, we might have passed the entrance to Osamil Upstairs and continued upward! Much like what you might expect of a speakeasy, it's well-hidden, and the interior just blows the mind. It's elegant, beautiful, and comfortable. The drinks were good. My cheese in the trap was smokey (as promised!) and alcohol forward. My hubby had the Jung cocktail and it had the most magical, delicious combination of flavors! We also ordered a foie gras with toast appetizer as a pre-dinner snack; it was OK. All in all, a really pleasant experience and we'd return if we were in the area again!

Depending on how long guests stay sometimes those seats are available as a first come first served so we were lucky. Our server was great and she explained the menu. I opted for the chefs menu which did not disappoint. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. It was fun to try everything including their starter course of three items. The oyster miso was quite a stand out for me. All of the fish prepared was delicate and lovely. The Parker rolls were soft and a nice complement. My friend who is less adventurous with seafood opted for their shrimp tempera roll, which was as good as you could make a shrimp tempera roll. Well prepared as well as their charcuterie board which we could not finish after everything. It was a memorable night I won't forget with nice entertainment and great staff. I watched him spill on other tables as well. He never apologized. He never wiped it up. Then 4th time he filled our glasses, he spilled the water on my wife. He did not apologize. He did not even acknowledge it and it was very clear that he noticed he did it. My wife, quite restrained, let our waitress know what happened. Her response: "What do you want me to do about it?" My wife said that he should not serving water if he doesn't know how to pour it properly. The waitress, moments later, told him what we had said, merely inches from our tables. Beyond awkward. And, instead of coming over and apologizing, he simply never returned to our table. No more water. The waitress had an attitude with us since we sat down - no idea what we could have done - unsure what was going on - but it was beyond unpleasant. Most of our "table conversation" was about how lousy the staff were acting and how uncomfortable we felt along with how much we couldn't wait to leave. We had shared an appetizer and had no interest in ordering anything else after that. We paid. We left. I feel stupid for tipping them.
