I've been to O K 501 2 times and have had a great experience both times this is such a fun time. If you're looking for something to do with some friends I think O K 501 should be your next stop. I recently went for a couple of friends birthday we rented a private room from 7:30pm- 10:30pm there was 11 of us that fit in one of the bigger rooms; it was very cool that we were able to bring our own food and drinks. The tv, the sound system and the mics were very high quality and worked very well. The song selection for the karaoke seem to be endless every song that we wanted they had even had the most recent songs that's on the top 40 as of today. My friends frequent this place and I've been here once or twice before. My friends and I decided to come here just because he was back from school and this is his favorite night time activity. I believe it was $20 for an hour, which honestly isn't too bad at all, especially when you have multiple people in your party so you can split. The rooms are not soundproof at all and you can hear everyone around you even when you crank up the volume. Anyways, the rooms are decent sized here, clean, and spacious. They offer English, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and a couple other languages. Parking is spacious. No complaints, really. read more

Came here with a couple of friends (6). The front desk person was extremely nice, and took us to our room on e we informed him of our party size. The karaoke microphone and set up felt nice and new for the most part. The best part was the AC. My goodness. Typically, I would be sweating buckets in these types of places, but AC is turned on and there is a fan!! This is a huge saving grace for thicc boys like me haha. I'm sad that I have to leave this negative review. I was a regular customer at this karaoke for 7 years--up until this past weekend. Unfortunately, because of the owner's and employee's disgusting racism, I will never spend my money and time here ever again. As a Korean person myself, I was happy to support this Korean-owned business. However, during my most recent visit, they made it clear that they are outrightly racist towards black customers, possibly other POC as well. For this reason, they've lost all my business and hopefully everyone else who doesn't condone racism. I came with my friends (also regulars), and this time around, we invited non-Korean friends to share the fun experience of noraebang. After a few hours of singing, we went to pay. The owner/employee said (out of earshot of my non-Korean friends), "Why tf did you bring black people here?". He tried to justify his racism by adding that he's worried the non-Korean people would leave a bad review.... make it make sense?? Everyone had a good time, and no incident occurred that would have warranted a "bad review." Jokes on you cuz I'm the one leaving a 1-star review you very much deserve. I'm embarrassed and infuriated that I spent so much money supporting a disgusting establishment. I only wish they'd have exposed themselves sooner so I wouldn't have wasted more of my time and money supporting racists. Also, they tend to let non-Korean people leave their names on the waitlist but have no intention of ever getting them a room, making some wait for up to 3 hours. I'm not doubting other POCs who may have had a positive experience here before, but just know that if they're not being racist outwardly to your face, they're doing it behind your backs. Your friends don't want you singing in the car because they think you're embarrassing them. Even your dog howls in pain whenever you start singing. So what do you do? Well, if you're in North OC, then OK 501 is right there to serve you! They're open til the wee hours (I know people who sneak in their own alcohol and sing/drink there because all OC bars are closed), and they have a wide selection of room sizes and songs to please any group. The rooms go from small to super huge, and they're all equipped with microphones, tambourines, and disco lights to put you in the mood. No, it's not a posh karaoke place (you need to go to LA for those), so don't expect state of the art equipment or anything, but for a basic night of karaoke fun, it's not everything you need. I've never seen a lack of available songs, both current and not-so-current, in every language you can think of. The books are sometimes confusing, as there are English/Chinese/Vietnamese/Japanese/Korean sections (obviously the Korean song selection is the most varied) in the front half, but if you browse through the back half, you will find that there are new pages inserted bi-monthly. These pages each feature new American song selections to choose from, usually in a separate section towards the end of the page. Flip from page to page, as they are more or less in chronological order, and you're bound to find some good songs to sing. Most people don't know it (especially if they're not Korean), but instead of flipping through the songbooks, you can actually use the remote to search for songs on screen. You can search by language, by title, and by singer. It's a cool option. For example, if you're in the mood for some Britney Spears but you can't quite decide which song, skip the songbook altogether. Just input "Britney" and you'll see a whole list pop up on screen! If all the bars are closed and you have nothing to do, check out OK 501. It's a good way to kill an hour or two. read more

After failed attempts to hang out in the 909, the cousins were asking for some karaoke fun in Anaheim and I typed it in yelp while on the freeway and voila! OK 501 shows up! I read reviews about a tambourine and disco lights in the room and was sold. It was already 11:30 so I called the place up and an old sounding guy answered and I asked what time they're open til and he said 4:30 a.m!!! The cousins had no idea where we were going and when we showed up at the place I said, "Ok, we're at a Korean karaoke place!" We showed up these two young dudes throw us in a room and say ok have fun and shut the door and we're looking at each other like, huh? Then we notice everything's in Korean from the t.v to the remote control. We asked for help, got drunk, and sang until about three or four a.m. 80 bucks total. FUN TIMES! The place has about 10-15 rooms inside ranging from small to large. We got one that sits about 12-15 people. Standard Korean karaoke place - it was smokey inside which I hated and there wasn't much air conditioning and by the end of the night it was pretty hot. There wasn't much of an English song selection that had newer stuff. Lastly, they didn't serve any alcohol, but you can bring it in. There's a gas station and liquor store that's nearby. This place makes me embarrassed of my Korean race. There was an older Korean male at the front this past Saturday night at 0830pm. Fairly certain he's the owner. He tried to force me into a 10+ persons room when I only had 6 persons and charge me $50/hr for it. The place was at least 75% empty, and there were 6 of us. That's why there was no reason for him to do that. I thought this was outrageous, because the night before when I called to ask about prices, they said it was $50 for a room for 13 (several people in party dropped out). I questioned him about that and he said it's because the size of the room, and I told him we only have 6 people and not paying $50 for a larger room that fits 13. He gave us the $35/hr room which can easily seat 8 people. I hate how he tried to sheist me into the 13+ people room and charge me more. He was extremely dishonest and because of that I would never return. The jerk who received the phone call at 10pm at night on Thursday was full of attitude too. I would never recommend such a place, especially if you're planning on staying on good vibes for an event like a birthday. read more

A place where kids can go in the day and adults at night. Inside the room is dark, lush couches to sit on, and a state of the art CD-oke system with working mics. After scouring the yelp reviews, my sisters and I settled on this place because it seemed like it catered an all ages crowd and it was closer to the 60 fwy than any of the other places. We had a group of 9 people. We reserved a room earlier in the day. I was nervous that they wouldn't be able to speak English and that communicating would be hard (like at some other Korean karaoke spots). But we got there at 9pm, and they had a room waiting for us. It was AWESOME. We had a medium sized room for $35 an hour (a bigger room was $45 an hour). They also had smaller rooms for $20 an hour. I believe it was a Saturday night we went. They had English songs but the selection was limited and listed only in alphabetical order of the song. They had some randomly newish pop songs as well. We had a blast - it was the first time my sisters had gone to a karaoke room rental place and they had so much fun. I'm totally going to go back. And the 3 hours for the price of one is only before 7pm on Saturdays or something like that....Also, there is no drink minimum like at some other places I've been to. Warning: I have only ever sung Karaoke in Japan before and had never been a customer in a K-Box before so my 5 star rating is not based on a comparison of this to other Karaoke boxes. The rating comes from the fact that we had such a fun time. Went with 6 peeps from school on Memorial Weekend. None of us could leave for the weekend because we had to study for the hellish Surgical class we are taking but decided to go out for a couple hours on Sunday night. From what I remember the box was $20 per hour. You can order light snacks and beer to be brought to the room. The room was nice and clean. We got 2 microphones and proceeded to sing away and laugh the rest of the night. 4 hours flew by. Super fun time. This could be my new favorite group activity (besides orgies and competitive eating contests). Will def come back again. read more

Not fair! I only got my iPhone about a year ago...I should be total check-in royalty at this place by now, but instead I look like a mere karaoke serf. I need to work harder on my drive-by check-ins, I guess. (Kidding). By the way, who *chooses* to do bar room karaoke anymore? Every time we convert yet another hardcore karaoke fanatic to private rooms, that poor soul is astounded these joints even exist. And they do! You just gotta know the neighborhoods more likely to have them. Think about where karaoke originated (Asia!) and look for malls that are--gasp!--Asian and, voila, you got yourself a private-room karaoke oasis. Of course, one downside to a lot of these places is the relative scarcity of English songs to Japanese, Korean, Filipino ones but OK 501 has a fantastic selection, in my opinion. Machines are easy to use here, prices are decent and the place is clean. Gather 'round your crew and head on over there. Compared to the other places around with private booths, I was satisfied at the reasonable price hourly per room. It was well maintained, and had a good system (that didn't lag, thus wasting your time and $$). The only complaint is that the song selection in English was lacking and terrible. If you want tons of Engrish songs, go to the Max Karaoke chain. Yeah, no booze and they are pretty run down, but you can sing songs from Abba to Zepplin. read more

Actually I generally enjoyed my experience here. Free water, song selection like any other KTV/Noraebang, it was suitable. We arrived with a large party and booked the largest rooma t 50 per hour on a Saturday night. Fair enough, its like 5$ a person. We went into the room at 9:40 and at 10:45 everything shut off. We assumed our hour was up. It was very odd. Turned out a breaker had been messed up and so this room no longer worked. It was EXACTLY 10:45. We FINALLY were placed in a smaller room (some of us had to leave because the room was so small) at 10:57pm. I kept checking the time thinking the first thing had been us running out of time. We sang another round until 11:55. I went to checkout and they attempted to charge me 105$, because "at 50 per hour you went over two hours". Maybe its because I'm white. But also because I'm latina inside I was like "OH HAWLLLLL no." A. We moved to a smaller room B. We didnt go over 2 hours, we spent 10-15 moving to the new room when your machines broke. C. Dont try to stiff me GD! Finally, they agreed to my price because I was about to go pregnancy batshit on them so they really SAVED THEIR OWN LIVES/HAPPINESS by doing so. Since they did, I left a generous tip. However, it was annoying that they even attempted that. They do however have free water in the lobby, a singers godsend. And I sing hard. Its really hard to explain, I used to be a singer as a job, but I just do it for fun now but when I do I give it my all. So I replaced a star for that. I'd go back if they hadn't tried to jip me. The closest place for my friends and I to got karaoke after eating dinner while roaming around Cerritos. Its got the classic Korean karaoke feel. It's pretty clean and casual. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all. Since we had a smaller group (4 people) I think we were able to get a room pretty quickly. Being a Korean run place, the vast majority of songs are Korean, but they do have a pretty solid selection of English songs. Though if you're looking for something recent (last 3 years or so) you'll have to go diving the non-alphabetized "recent song" additions in the back. It's rather inconvenient, but if you can't find a song that that you're dying to sing. Check the recent song additions in the back of the book, you'll probably find it there. read more

I still think Plush in Irvine and Elvis!? in Fountain Valley have the best song selection. They don't offer water and there is no alcohol available. Overall, as a karaoke establishment I would say it's pretty mediocre. However, it is very affordable for a group. If you're looking for anything besides singing, avoid. My friends and I come here quite often. Coming from Fullerton, It is a trusty ol' place without having to go down to Garden Grove. It has pretty much what I would expect for the size and well-maintained. The Korean song selections are quite good. American songs, while limited, has most songs I can sing. The price is about average, but not bad. There are some good eateries next door as well. There are plenty of rooms (given the size of the place) and it appears to stay open late, a good thing for those of us who love to come after dinner and hang out. The yellow sign should be quite noticeable while driving on Lincoln, but one might get confused on whether it''s a name of a PC Room or a Karaoke place. This place has been the most amazing experience. I can honestly say that OK 501 karaoke is my escape from the outside world. The gentleman that I see when I visit ok 501 has become a friend and everyone else who works there really makes me feel comfortable and glad I am a customer. The prices are super affordable so don't forget to tip because compared to everyone else they are much lower, and much better. The rooms are private and you can find basically any song and bring your own if you cant...I believe they offer usb for anything they don't have...they are helpful and accommodate to your needs and wants for the sound ect. They are open til 4am which is fantastic because I don't get off work til 7p-8p and I live an hour away now... I still make the drive so that should tell you something. I have brought so many people to share in my experience and every person I bring has the same opinion. This place is awesome! I will be a regular customer for as long as they are in business.
