You can never go wrong with O'lydias, plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, open until 2am most night, and has a huge selection of food to choose from. I always favor the wings! Been a hot wing spot of mine throughout the years! Always seated quickly, wait staff is always friendly and working hard. O'lydias is usually prwtty busy on the weekends, popular spot to grab food and drinks, lot's of people socializing before sport events, O'lydias is also a shuttle stop that makes trips to Miller Park. Always a good time to sit out on the patio and drink the $5 Margs! Yum! I'll have 3 please. The wings never miss, the Ruebens are delicious, the whole menu is good. Classic milwaukee spot. My only feedback: - wings use to come out in separate boats by flavor and now they come out on plates. The display is nice. However, I ordered two different sauces, and they sort of fused together. And I couldn't tell, which one was which, until I tasted them. -wings have gone up $$$ over the years. Usually cashing out around a $25-30 meal per person including drinks. Looks like a fun bar! We had lunch and I probably would not return for the food. Clam Chowder on a Friday and they had fish fry. I took a chance and I shouldn't have.. All I tasted was wet flour. No taste. no veggies, no clams. I almost sent it back. The chicken pesto sandwich I had was ok.. the bacon could have been cooked longer. Like I said.. This is my new favorite place for pub/American food. Everything I have ever had at O'Lydia's is so tasty. Their Bloody Mary was topped with a pretzel, pickle, cheese, olive, sausage, and a pepper. I always appreciate a loaded Bloody Mary. Their cheese curds were served with a sweet & spicy sauce which was very unique but worked well. For the main dish, I loved the Ruben! This place was a classic bar with surprisingly good food. Even though it's semi- divey we were able to call ahead and get a table for 5 while we were on our way. This always makes me feel better when the staff have a heads up and can plan for a larger group. We were seated immediately and our drinks were brought quickly. Our group had previously done a tour at lakefront brewery and they give you a beer coupon to redeem at many bars across the city. This was one of them and the server took care of it easily. We ordered the buffalo chip dip to start and it was served in a crock. However, the crock itself was cold to the touch so they didn't bake the dip in it, they just put it in after for aesthetic and then ironically the dip was cold in the center when we ate it. Good flavor at least though. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and loved the heat of it. It was very spicy, crispy and cooked well. For Summerfest, there are a lot of bars with shuttles to choose from, but O'Lydias is our favorite because of the sweet patio, plus the food is really, really good. We also love the happy hour deals, $4 pints, you can't beat that. And fish fry Fridays, with a lot of choices. We had the bluegill (how often can you ever get bluegill??), and chose potato pancake for the potato (delicious!!). It came with coleslaw and rye toast points. Jenna was such a great server, she kept making sure we had what we needed, even after we switched out of her section to get some shade. I hope our new server shared his tip with her. They ran out of the beer I wanted to try, but she let me taste it with what was left of the keg, it was a rotating fruity tap that was delicious. We've come here for wings before and they're always a hit! Buffalo is my favorite, but we tried the fiery arbol this time as well - just beware those are very spicy! My husband loved them, but they were too hot for me. Note to future self - they have wing deals on Wednesday! The grilled chicken pesto sandwich was so good. It comes on toasted bread with two thick strips of bacon and lots of cheese. The margarita was a huge highlight for me. On Mondays they have the margarita for $5, so not only was it a great deal, but I asked for a salted rim and the bartender did not disappoint! Service was great! I didn't catch our servers name but she was super busy on the patio and still made time to stop by our table with a huge smile on her face (it was Monday 9/5 around 5pm and she had dark hair with bangs)!! Went to O'Lydia's with a group for the Packer game and had a good time! Old school pub but well kept and had a great atmosphere. A lot larger inside than I'd anticipated as well. Our server was sweet and very attentive. Always sure to refill everyone's ($3) tap beers! All their prices are a steal! We had tasty appetizer which was grilled eggplant topped with tomato, feta, and pesto. Not what I'd expect at a pub but I'm glad it was on the menu. Oh and of course, we had fries! I'm stayed in Milwaukee for a few days and wanted to go to a Brewers game. This place and many bars in the area offer a free shuttle to the game and back with only one drink purchase. This is a great way to go to a game. We were there on Monday night and they had a taco special. They had three kinds: ground beef, chicken and chorizo. They were all solid. My son had a blt and they had nice thick cut bacon. The food is ok but the service is great and the drinks are cold. This place also has a cool outdoor patio. I've come on 4 separate occasions to get rueben rolls. I first time, I dined in used apple pay, no questions asked. The 2nd time, I came in to grab them togo and presented my phone for apple pay and was told "we only accept that if you have no other form of payment" (which I didnt because it wasnt an issue the first time I dined in) she was a snot about that but took it. 3rd time, brought my card. 4th time now and I forgot my card but remembered what blonde girl said the 2nd time, I didnt have any other form. Usually I take the time to write a well thought out review, but I'm going to keep things very simple. We came on wing night (which means it's .95 cents per wing). It is not a buffet, it is not an all you can eat - you should get what you pay for, right? Wrong. Regardless of how many wings you pay for, you have to eat all of them there and cannot take the rest to go. I would understand if people were creating a deficit for the company, but they are literally throwing what you paid for away. To each their own - it's not my business, but my opinion is it's poor business practice. That being said, the food was okay, and the server was great. Linda and her son are an extremely sad excuse for hospitality "leaders". As a very frequent patron who has brought in countless new customers I never receive a hello, thank you it goodbye from either of them. Another major gripe of mine in the additional service charge that is automatically added to every bar and food bill. There is no signature the entrance stating this as is required by law and I have been repeatedly been charged. For using a debit, charge card and cash. Sounds like a scam to me. tl;dr Your friendly neighborhood bar, complete with a solid food menu (including a great wing special). You'll usually find me here on a Wednesday night, partaking in 50 cent wing night. 50 cent grilled then fried wings, with only a minimum five wings per flavor, and drenched in sauce. Besides the usual eight flavors on their menu, they usual have a handful of weekly flavors to choose from as well. I typically start with the garlic parmesan for my first five, and then explore each week with another new flavor. I've only been let down once with their sauces (I'm just not a fan of the sweet maple that was the primary flavor profile Tennessee whiskey sauce [not sure what the actual flavor name was]). It's not just wings that's worth the stop though, it's their brunch, their huge salads, their crazy unique daily specials (like all you can eat lasagne with a cup of soup and garlic bread for $8.95), their mac n' cheese (you gotta get the bacon and gouda mac), their Saturday steak night... You know what, this is a solid food menu, so order away. You'll find that the place is usually packed, but you can usually find a spot as there is the bar up front, the dining room, the back bar, and a huge patio. Oh, and parking? Besides a plethora of street parking, they have their own lot across the street. Drinks? Definitely more than what you expect from a normal bar. The menu here is very generous and won't disappoint a foodie. Two things I like about this place. First it being very convenient, on more than just one aspect. It's convenient to go to, convenient to park, convenient to order. The second is the wide and diverse menu. The menu is definitely inspired by Irish cuisine but also slightly untraditional at the same time. The place offers multiple seating options including outdoor patio. Whether you prefer dark ambience or light one, you will find an "okay" spot for you in here. The service is very good. Fast and attentive. No complaints here. I like their French Fries. Great bar food overall. I swung by here and was surprised how this place is - two full sized bars and tables. Also there's a nice looking patio that I've yet to check out in nicer weather. Tried a Reuben and the mozzarella stick/Reuben roll combo appetizer. These were very sizable rolls in wonton, but the mozzarella sticks weren't super flavorful/gooey,cheesy and the Reuben rolls lacked much corned beef. The secret to this spot is to arrive before a baseball game or summerfest, enjoy a beer before you hop on a free shuttle and then call in a to go order as you either walk the 15 minutes from Summerfest grounds or take the 15 min shuttle from the Brewers or Bucks games. I had THE PAISANO: Prosciutto, tomato, spinach and fontina cheese with two eggs over easy served on toasted sourdough with hash browns and fruit. I also had a side of hollandaise because I just really love hollandaise sauce. I dipped the sandwich in it and drizzled it over the hash browns. It was a deliciously messy breakfast sandwich! I literally used 6 napkins. The salty prosciutto with the creamy egg yolks and fontina cheese was amazing! The hollandaise sent it over the top.
