He did make a reservation earlier in the day for 8:15 so when we got there, we got seated right away. We ordered a few things. We got the City Pop Roll and it was yummy, very fresh. We got the pork belly skewers (salt and tare), we loved them!!! The BBQ eel was delicious too. We loved the harami skewers too. The one we didn't care for was the tofu one. Overall, very delicious and good service. They did not have a few options we wanted (shrimp and wagyu) as they had ran out, so just fyi if you go later in the day.

The yakitori was alright, not outstanding, but satisfying. They seemed understaffed, and it was hard getting their attention sometimes, but the wait wasn't too long. We enjoyed the salt best out of the three options, with tare being second. We would not order spicy again because we found it too vinegary. The best thing here is definitely the drinks. The yuzu sour and N/A nectar were both very good, and with the happy hour yakitori/sashimi deal very worth it if the sashimi wasn't so fishy :( We rated everything out of 16: Drinks were 14.25/16 Chicken Thigh Yakitori 12.75/16 Pork Belly 11/16 Shrimp Soy Butter 13.5/16 Bacon Rice Cake 11/16 Wagyu 12/16 Shiitake 11.2/16 Okonomiyaki 11.5/16 Sashimi 6/16

Friends ordered 2 other ramens. Flavor profiles were excellent but noodle doneness varied, taking off 1 star for potential inconsistency. There's paid parking nearby and good bars/dessert places in the area too. Highly recommend for both indoor and outdoor seating. Also saw families and groups here, so the menu is broad enough where there is something for everyone!

However, I am leaving this review to point out a significantly broken process in how the staff handles service mistakes, which management needs to address. During our last visit, we waited patiently for my 11 year old's ramen, giving the kitchen the benefit of the doubt that the soups were just delayed. However, 20 minutes after ordering, we noticed a table that was seated after us was already receiving their ramen. At that point, I checked in with our server about my daughter's 'kid's ramen'. This led to 3 different service failures. First, the server never acknowledged or apologized for the fact that she had completely forgotten the order. Second, once the mistake was caught, the order was not expedited. Instead of rushing it to the front of the line, we sat there and watched 6 more bowls of soup go out to other tables before hers finally arrived another 20 minutes later. It felt as though, because it was a kid's meal, it wasn't considered a priority. When a kitchen forgets a dish, leaving someone sitting without food while everyone else eats, that dish needs to be pushed through immediately. Third, when the check arrived, the restaurant made no attempt to make the situation right even though the server could tell we were not happy. They didn't even comp the $9 bowl of kids ramen(or offer a free dessert to my daughter for making her wait if they didn't want to comp the $9), which is the bare minimum standard for service recovery after delaying a meal due to their own error. I still appreciate the quality of the food here, but the front-of-house training and service recovery processes need serious attention.

Menu is broad but not in an overwhelming way. We're always pleasantly surprised when we get the check and it's much less than expected. Our favorites so far are the octopus skewer, bacon-wrapped quail egg skewer, tsukemono, negihama roll, and orange roll. But again, the menu has a nice variety of options for all different approaches and preferences, so we're excited for our next visits and to nail down our true favorites.

While they could've been speaking to menu technicality of simply having it on the menu, in a well-spirited reply they said they had it for us. And so we... * Took a $35 Lyft to zoom over and respect their time, which certainly contributed to the frustration but very much isn't where most of it derived from. We made it a few minutes before the time we said we'd be there. * The only reason this isn't one star is because we ordered skewers that were pretty decent. I do recommend those. * Make sure to have phone charge for the virtual menus The host was amazing!!! Incredible spirits for late night. The servers were pretty garbage! I say servers plural because dude and his lookalike double-teamed us and somehow both sucked. I say this as someone who's worked in the service industry for 3 years. The servers seemed actively dismayed & angry that we were at the restaurant (there were 2 bigger tables that ended up remaining before we left the place, mind you), which simply could've been easily mitigated by telling us at 8:50PM to come a different day if we wanted better service or something of the sort. After traveling far & wide for this freakin Okonamiyaki, with an offputting slight glare, the waiter told us that they didn't have it for the night. No reason provided: "we just don't have it"... mmmk buddy. At least lie to us and say that the kitchen doesn't have any more ingredients or something dude. Upon the 3 of us ordering what we got, each item was disappointing in its own right: * To be fair, my friend who ordered the Uni Udon was warned that it might be a little weird tasting, and it sure was. Don't recommend * The JFC Don pictured was about 90% rice according to my friend. Nothing more needed to say there. * Annd my Maguro Avocado Don... wow I was astonished at how much I disliked it. The rice was lukewarm. Nothing was mentioned about minced tuna on the menu so it looked like dog food in my bowl. I'm white... so what in the white people shit was in my bowl? Like...genuinely. I could make that 10x better at my house in half the time and I'm a fcking college student. Is seasoning no longer with us? Does anyone know what pepper or garlic are? Was astonished at how one can make a dish so terrible. I only ate it because I'm broke and can't afford other stuff. The dish looks as horrible as it tasted , and I made it look better than it was served to me I could go on. And lastly, the checks. Yknow, for guys that seemed so pissed for us being there, they were slow as hell with the checks. I'm kind af but a bitch when I'm fucked with (case in point here), so I really gave them my whole dentures, which was exponential in magnitude compared to what they gave us. Thank you Issian, for a terrible night. Citizens of the world, please don't waste your money here, I beg you.

You choose what you want, place your order, and wait for it to be made. There are a couple of bar seats, but not much seating overall. The restaurant is actually inside a small convenience-style Asian market with snacks, drinks, and other groceries. Everything was really clean, and there was no strong fishy smell, which I appreciated. The staff was also really friendly. I tried the salmon and unagi. The salmon was pretty good, but I probably wouldn't get the unagi again. It wasn't bad, but it tasted like something you could easily pick up at an Asian grocery store, so nothing particularly special. Portions were pretty generous, and we only waited around 10 minutes for our food, which wasn't bad at all. Parking is generally pretty easy to find somewhere nearby on the street too. Overall, I'd say it's worth trying if you're in the area and want something quick and casual. It's not somewhere I'd go specifically for the experience, but I'd definitely stop by again if I'm nearby.

The dispenser was wet, suggesting it had recently been used and run out. I flagged this to an employee who was handling food at the time. They acknowledged me but didn't address it. I waited and brought it up again and was met with visible annoyance. Another staff member eventually mentioned that employees use a sink in the kitchen. I asked if I could use it. Shortly after, soap appeared in the bathroom with no acknowledgment or apology. What concerns me most is this: if the customer-facing restroom had no soap during the dinner rush, and the response to being asked about it was irritation rather than urgency, what does that say about how handwashing is handled behind the scenes? I'm not looking for perfection. I'm looking for basic food safety protocol to be taken seriously. I didn't see that here.
