Always come here when I'm back home visiting my parents. We drive from Puyallup and it's definitely worth the trip. We usually order A LOT of nigiri and a couple appetizers + a bottle of sake (or 2). Sushi quality is similar to high-end places I've had all across Japan. The size of each nigiri is massive (at least 1.5x the size your usual). My mom always comments on how they recognize her voice when she calls to make a reservation. That in itself is top tier customer service. 11/10, would HIGHLY recommend. They have parking in a lot about 50 steps away from the restaurant.

Nigiri omakase was delicious
Nami N.

I had the pleasure of dining in and also grabbing takeout from Shiki, and both experiences were solid. For lunch, I ordered the nigiri omakase--beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and clearly crafted with care. Each piece had clean, balanced flavors and thoughtful toppings that really highlighted the quality of the fish. The atmosphere inside was modern, clean, and relaxed--perfect for a quiet solo lunch or a casual meal with friends. The lighting and seating felt comfortable and inviting without being too formal. Service was good--friendly, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing. The staff made the dine-in experience comfortable and smooth. Later, I grabbed a takeout order of the House Special Roll and the Fantastic Roll to enjoy at the airport. Both rolls were flavorful, generously portioned, and traveled well. The shrimp tempura side was still crisp and a great addition. Great food, pleasant atmosphere, and good service. Just shy of perfect, but definitely a spot I'd return to!

Hit this place before a Kraken game at Climate Pledge. Just a short walk from the arena. The restaurant itself feels very Japanese authentic. The place was packed, but everyone was speaking very quietly and respectfully. You order by writing on a little piece of paper that the servers take. We ordered all out, thinking the pieces were gonna be small but boy were we surprised. Huge pieces of very fresh and tasty fish. Pork Katsu was very flavorful. Will go back again for sure.

The rolls were pretty good! They were also packaged nicely and ready when I arrived. The servers were very helpful and it was easy to order online and then pick it up quickly and efficiently. The little restaurant was also very cozy and I could definitely see myself coming back here for more sushi for dine in before a show in the future!

I love Shiki. Sushi is yum and fresh! I will recommend to order hotate, ika, fatty tuna. I hope they have Uni bowl soon.

Chirashi Bowl

Shiki is a hidden gem. I'm glad my friend recommended this place. They serve fresh ingredient with a great price. I got the chirashi sushi bowl which had a great variety of cuts to try. I ordered the ebi fry which I wish the breading is more crunchy as it has a crispy outer layer but too soft to the bite inside. I will come back again to try other dishes.

All they send to me

I placed an order for $177 and they only sent me half of the order, terrible service, horrible hygiene

After eating once, I couldn't help but go there twice more. The fish meat on the sushi was so thick that I couldn't even finish one bite the first time I ate it. Their fried pork cutlet rice is particularly delicious, and they also have very authentic Japanese oden. The store is very small, with a Japanese master chef making sushi and sashimi at the bar and one or two waiters. If you go to eat, you must call to make a reservation. If you walk in directly, you may have to wait in line for a long time.

My amazing and generous chirashi bowl!!

This is an off the beaten path unassuming little restaurant in Lower Queen Anne but don't let appearances fool you. The dining room is small, not fancy but cozy. We were promptly greeted by sushi master Ken Yamamoto & was shown to our seat by one of the ladies (his wife perhaps). We sought out Master Ken since he is one of the few in the country that is licensed to serve fugu but alas it was not in season. There are a number of beers and sake selections on the menu but we were here for the chirashi. We both ordered the chirashi along with some nigiri...uni & mirugai. The chirashi was without a doubt the star attraction. Each portion was a huge bowl filled with generous portions of sashimi. I honestly lost count of how many pieces of sashimi there were plus there was kani salad, tamago, ikura and daikon sprouts. Digging all what way under there was a very generous serving of sushi rice topped with furikake. The chirashi is a must have!!! The nigiri also was very fresh and a good size but the chirashi overshadowed that experience.

The way they worded this really rubbed me the wrong way. First, I've never been give a time limit at a restaurant that was not all-you-can-eat. Second, the amount of time I spend in your restaurant heavily depends on the speed of your service (spoiler alert: it was not fast). They then sat us at the most uncomfortable table I have ever had the displeasure of dining at. The table was low and the seats were so deep that I could not rest my back on them while eating. Definitely brought the mood down further. Food was a hit or a miss, no in between. Hit: Garlic short ribs (my partner said these were tender and a good portion for happy hour), Poke sushi roll (good fish quality and taste) Misses: First Ave Roll (sauce was just walloped on top, weak flavors), veggie and shrimp tempura (heavy and soggy batter), pink lychee cooler (artificially sweet with no strong lychee flavor), green tea tiramisu (photo speaks for itself). For all the rave reviews, I was pretty let down. Thankfully, we went during happy hour so we didn't pay full price. I would not visit here again.

Momiji was one of those and it was extremely close to the movie theater we were walking out of. Sushi sounded great so we strolled over to get some. The sushi didn't disappoint... not in the slightest! We got some specialty rolls off of that portion of the menu and they were so very good! Fresh and extremely flavorful! Moonraker was one of the rolls we got. I highly recommend it! In addition to that we got an order of the Spicy Tofu... again delicious and made an excellent side with our sushi! I got a hard alcohol I wasn't used to getting. It was fun and it was quite good! It was Shochu which is a distilled beverage and involves sweet potato. If memory serves I got the one with sweet potato and pear. Very different but very good. It had a nice dryness to it. To wrap it all up we got some deep fried mochi ice cream. It held up nicely to being a great finish to a very high quality meal. We are definitely coming back!

I am rating this as a 4 but likely would have given 3.5 if half stars were an option. We made our reservations a few weeks in advance being sat in the dining room. The three of us ordered the omakase and the food was delicious. Each piece was delectable and glorious. For food alone I'd given it a 5. Ambiance was nothing spectacular nor would set it apart from other sushi restaurants. It looked and felt like most sushi restaurants that offer omakase in the area. The service is where our dining experience, surprisingly, fell the most flat. Our waitress was a timid young woman who seemed very overwhelmed, speaking very quietly and quickly which caused us to ask her to repeat herself a few times. She had a script and if she stuck to the script she was fine but if we asked any question she wasn't prepared for, like asking about sake, she locked up. She also didn't appear to be receiving much support either. Questions regarding the sake were funneled through her to someone else who would relay the questions through her. The back and forth was enough I questioned why this person didn't come with our waitress to assist her. The explanations on the omakase dishes were given quietly or not given at all. It was just a bit atypical for omakase style restaurants in the area.

But clearly the deal was too good because they were all out! Compared to other hand roll bars, I like Sugo much more because they serve the rolls open faced, so you can clearly see the quality of everything you're eating, and it looks really nice. Further, these are full size handrolls compared where the ratio of fish dominated the seaweed and rice so that is the primary mouth feel. King Salmon - We topped up with ikura since caviar wasn't available, and the portion size was generous; the ikura adds a delicious salinity and texture profile to balance the naturally sweet salmon. Fresh wasabi gives this piece such a nice bright freshness. Ebi Nuoc Mam - Smaller shrimp seasoned with that classic Vietnamese palette of savory fish sauce that can give the shellfish flavor to hold its own. Tempura Shrimp - This roll gives a classic tempura shrimp roll with all the fix ins from spicy mayo to a sweeter saline glaze. The cucumber adds freshness and the piece eats very well with a balanced serving of rice. Spicy Tuna - Classic spicy tuna handroll with the added pairing of the sweet pickled radish, which gives a bright sweetness to contrast the bold spice coming from the tuna mixture. Kanpachi - Another piece that works brilliantly with ikura; we have that firm white fish powered by the lime, and the saline forward nature of the salmon roe really helps to add another dimension to the amberjack. Torched Eel - Very generous cut of eel that will be sure to satisfy for the final rolls I like the added toppings of cucumber and optional wasabi, which help alleviate some of the richness of that seasoned eel.
