This restaurant has been one of our favorite lunch spots ever since it first opened, and over the years we've also enjoyed dinner here from time to time. Today I happened to be in the area and stopped in for their prix-fixe lunch in the early afternoon, dining by myself. It was, once again, a very pleasant experience. They begin the meal with complimentary warm pita bread served with two spreads, a simple but welcoming start. I ordered the grilled octopus and the branzino, and finished with Greek yogurt for dessert. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and nicely executed. What truly sets this restaurant apart, beyond the beautiful interior and relaxed ambiance, is the warmth of the staff. As soon as I walked in, Stephanie greeted me with a genuine smile and a warm welcome. She has a natural way of making guests feel comfortable right away. My server, Christian, was attentive, friendly, and professional, checking in regularly throughout the meal. In fact, the entire team is consistently courteous and attentive, which always makes dining here especially enjoyable. I really wanted to enjoy our visit to Limani Grille, but our experience last night fell short. We arrived at 7 PM to find the restaurant packed for Restaurant Week--something we hadn't expected. The first sign of trouble was the parking situation: we ended up nearly a five‑minute walk away in ten‑degree weather. This would have been the perfect night for valet service. On the positive side, our party of six was seated right away, and our server Josh was friendly and attentive. He let us know we could still order from the Restaurant Week prix fixe menu, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the timing of the meal derailed the evening. Appetizers took about an hour to arrive, and our entrées didn't come out until another hour after that. By the time we finished eating it was 9:30 PM and we were one of the only diners left. Josh apologized and explained that they typically serve around 250 guests on a normal night, but this evening they had more than 350 diners, which clearly overwhelmed the kitchen. The food itself was good--fresh, flavorful, and well‑portioned--and the prix fixe menu offered solid value. Still, the extended delays made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. Overall, I'm torn. I've been here a few times and finally decided to write a review. The décor is absolutely stunning and makes the whole experience feel special. Service is always on point our server Jennifer was super attentive and made us feel well taken care of. I had the sangria (always a favorite!) and tried the $29 prix fixe lunch. Totally worth it the salmon with lemon potatoes was delicious, and the warm, fresh pita bread was the perfect touch. This spot never disappoints, and I know I'll keep coming back. Great to visit for lunch! The vibe and decor of the restaurant is upscale and classy. I would recommend due to the pleasant and attentive service, tasty food, and appealing pre fixe deals they offer. I ordered the octopus (my favorite thing I tried), the branzino, and the karidopita. When I visited it was during restaurant week and the person I was with mentioned the portion sizes we received were smaller than their usual lunch deals which I felt I had to note. Tried Limani Grille based off a recommendation from @liactivityplanner on insta! What a delightful treat for a Saturday night dinner with my friend & her 2 granddaughters. The food was amazing as well as the drinks & the ambience in the restaurant was awesome with some intimate dining spots an upstairs & a very attentive staff. We started with drinks, the picante strawberry margarita & the red & white sangrias. Then we had the calamari & Mac & cheese. Reached Limani for an early dinner. The place was cozy and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The cocktail with the fig vodka and pomegranate juice was amazing. Their zucchini crisps were amazing, could not stop myself from completing the basket. I got the dinner special. I chose the chicken lemon soup, branzino and the cake. Limani Grille took over the Bonwit Inn, the once in a blue moon spot that you went to on special occasions. My wife was able to meet me early for dinner so I made a reservation so we can enjoy the price fixe dinner. Once seated and looking over the cocktail menu, I like how they put a Greek spin on classic cocktails. I ordered the Kyrios, made with Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack Straight Tennessee Whiskey, add a splash of blood Orange bitters and topped with an orange peel? Greek style all day baby, Opa! We ordered the 3 course meal and I chose Greek Salad, Branzino and Karidopita. Greek Salad I felt like a little kid being served a mammas burger at McDonalds. What part of Greece did this salad come from, the punishment islands? I never had a Greek Salad with big chunks of tomatoes along with big chunks of raw onions. It was a plate of sadness. Branzino When Jesus casted out his net? Most likely it was filled with Branzino. This is a mild flavored fish from the Mediterranean, a boney dish and I'd say 98% of the bones were removed. It's still my favorite fish dish and Limani Grille cooked it perfectly. Karidopita cake with a scoop of ice cream Heaven! Sooo good, the cake is a walnut sponge cake, and the warm spices like cinnamon, cloves and honey syrup makes this an unbelievable dessert. my best friend's daughter and her boyfriend were there last Friday and both got violently ill after eating the lamb chops vomiting over 20 times her daughter wound up in good Samaritan hospital with a fever and heart rate of 140 and severely dehydrated due to vomiting 20 times plus I have been in medicine for 39 years, have experienced food poisoning, and this was very very bad. Something very wrong happened there and if it was an elderly person There is a good trance they would've been put on life-support and possibly was their life. Seven days later today she still weak... Everything was fine, until I was about the eat the last bite of my hamburger (lunch special), then found a long black hair in the meat. Should of saved the hair but was disgusted and spit it out, and could not find it on the floor afterwards. Told the server and she just laughed it off. Does finding a hair in the food = equal a one star review, not sure. read more

Limani Grille in Commack has a lot of potential but my overall experience landed right in the middle. The restaurant itself is very nice with a clean and polished ambience that feels a bit upscale without trying too hard. The space is open, bright, and welcoming, and it definitely has the look of a place where you'd expect a great dining experience. The food was good in some areas and average in others. Some dishes had great flavor while others felt a little underwhelming for the price point. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out in a memorable way either. The service was just okay. The staff was polite enough but not very attentive. There were long stretches where no one checked in and it sometimes felt like the tables around us were getting more attention. Nothing went wrong but it didn't feel organized or engaged the way you'd hope at a restaurant with this atmosphere. Overall Limani Grille is fine for a casual night out if you're already in the area and want something decent in a nice setting, but based on my visit it didn't quite reach the level I expected. With a little more consistency and more attentive service it could easily be a stronger experience. read more

Service: Attentive but clumsy. The server I had came around to always check on me to see if I ever needed anything. The only downside was how clumsy they were. They broke a glass while trying to serve another drink; shards were on the table and haphazardly cleaned up. Food: Mussels - Must get. The mussels were clean and the broth was perfectly seasoned. The gems of garlic slivers were scattered within the broth which paired very nicely. Wagyu New York Strip - So-So. I do have to mention that getting fish could be the better option, so get the fish before the steaks. This NY Strip was not well marbled like other Wagyu I've previously had. I asked for the steak cooked medium rare but it came out more as medium well. Ribeye Steak - Pass. Cook was asked for medium, came medium rare but was cold when arriving to the table. Went to a dinner program here on a Thursday night. Service was excellent. I had an Old Fashioned which was exquisite. We had a mix of appetizers which were all delicious. (Only regret is that I didn't get to try the octopus as I've heard great things about it). The tomato salad was fresh and zesty. The Limani chips were crispy and delicious and the calamari were crisp and the sauces were perfect with it. I had branzino and was very happy. A selection of mixed desserts was brought to the table. Came here for a bridal shower. Was not expecting much due to the Yelp reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Appetizers of different dips with slices of pita bread, fried calamari, tomato cucumber salad...I think there were others but I was too busy eating and enjoying the shower to remember. My Mother lives very close to this place so after leaving her house I figured I would grab some food to take home. Second experience was not nearly as good as the first. 3.5 stars actually but rounding up because of the two lovely ladies that took my order and brought it out to our car when it was ready. I got the charcoal shrimp which had really off flavors to it. Did not enjoy it at all. The crab cake was better but again, not blown away by it. Maybe the food doesn't transport well. WOW!!!! One word describes this night. I and two other friend girls went here for uplifting and celebrating. I'm glad we did. This was my first time here. The other two weren't new here. Our waiter, Chris, was professional and not pushy. His colleagues came over took pics of us, chatted us up and ensured we were GOOD. Greetings Yelpers, I recently visited this venue my thoughts are as follows; What a positive far cry from the tired & old BonWit inn... this building was gutted inside & out and the front finished environment is airy, beautiful, upscale & very open. The bar/ dining area were again open & airy. Service was marvelous both Gabby & Jennifer were accommodating, professional & friendly. The food was from very good to mediocre. The starters were fabulous, a wine list that was +++ Entree was Branzino which I found to be very delicate yet very bland with not much flavor for my palate . We dined this past Sunday early evening and it was a great experience! First off, I used to work in The Bonwit Inn many years ago and I cannot believe this is the same space! We also had my bridal shower here and dinner after my son's baptism and we couldn't get over it. The way they recreated this-Absolutely beautiful! My husband did make a reservation and we were seated in by the fireplace. We couldn't stop looking around and then realized it was time to order! Pretty "Greek" places like this can be deceiving when it comes to Greek food. I was expecting an American version of Greek food but that wasn't the case. The tzatziki was real, lamb chops were real, Greek salad... real! I was so relieved. We are lacking great Greek spots in the area so we left happy. Madison was a great server. Food was so good as were the drinks and deserts! The only thing I would change is to add some Greek music. It's a Greek joint after all, no? The restaurant has two floors, with a main floor spacious bar and a dining room with tables comfortably positioned in the dining room. This is an impressive Mediterranean restaurant that has an Island feel with a white-on-white setting and a very roomy comfortable dining room. They offer high-quality seafood selections; the restaurant has a seafood-focused menu We ordered their Petalouda cocktail which was exceptionally good, and I highly recommend it. For appetizers we had the Zucchini Keftedes, and dinner we had the Chilean Seabass, and Halibut. I thought the Halibut was excellent. I have been to Limani on the north shore, and was thrilled when we got our own Limani! I have been many, many times for dinner since they opened. My husband and I go during the week, we live close by and would rather frequent when the restaurant is less busy. I would say usually on average, a 4 star experience. This past Wednesday 7/23/25 I had the worst meal in a looooong time at ANY restaurant. I'm a bit shocked. I don't know what happened, but we won't be going back, for sure, this summer. I'm thinking maybe new kitchen and wait staff to cover for vacations? 30 minutes for our one appetizer, which obviously the waiter forgot to put in the order. Our meals came VERY quickly after. I ordered the lobster and pasta , which was a hot mess of tail shell, a TON of pasta, and the head shell on a huge oval plate. So unappetizing! I never really gripe about prices, everything is very costly now, and going out to dinner is not a necessity. But OMG, $52 for a mound of gross pasta! I've had this dish before, and this was a new look. It's supposed to be 1 +1/4 lb. lobster. It was tiny bits of lobster, so I doubt it was that much. I real estate agent, who later became a real friend, has been asking me to get lunch with him for awhile now. It was finally time and he knew just the spot. "Limani Grille" was the spot of his choice. I figured with all this work I've spent getting the store opened, why not. We set the time for twelve noon, but traffic was not my friend. I pulled up to a small parking lot up front, but expanded towards the back. Once parked, I made my way through the large glass fitted doors. Inside, the atmosphere was elegant and modern. A giant bar with hundreds of drinks was set in the middle for all to see. The place was as remarkable as the food, which I'll get to in a minute . The hostess was extremely helpful. He reserved a table and he was there, waiting. I sat down and we started talking, at the same time they dropped a bread basket. The waiter, who was very knowledgeable, started going over the specials of the day. I was impressed with his ability to remember so much detail. We started with some appetizers for the table. About twenty minutes later they arrived fresh. Let me start by saying in my life I've eaten a lot of octopus. It's never been what I enjoyed. But after trying it today at this restaurant, I finally understood why it's so sought after. It was served over onions and had a smoky taste to it. It wasn't slippery like normal ways I've seen it prepared. This was in fact, the best I've ever had. Every appetizer was enhanced with pure flavor, a true enjoyable experience by its self. I might add, my glass was never empty. The waiters helper, was on top of her game as well. She was so nice and always asked how we enjoyed our course. It felt like we mattered while dining. Next was the main course. I got the lamp chops over potatoes. My meal was racked with flavor....see what I did there...continuing; at this point I was full, but my buddy made my try dessert. I'm glad he did. The cheesecake was incredible, it was light a had a blueberry sauce on top. It was truly delicious. At the end of the meal, I couldn't move, not because I was full, it was because I didn't want to leave. I was waiting for more delicious food to come out.
