I stopped by O' Reilly yesterday when it was raining pickup up some wiper blades for my wife's car for an entire set of 3 blades. Carlos offered to install them for me. He stood in the rain and got the job done, quickly and efficiently. I can't brag enough of how, genuinely, he displayed what REAL customer service looks like in how he presented himself and treated me like I was a king. Great Job Carlos...O' Reilly needs many more men like you, as you shine for your company while other companies light is pretty dim. If I could rate 0 stars I would. My 65 year old mother and 19 year old daughter's battery died while near this location. They drove there ready to purchase a new battery. The website says that if you purchase the battery, they'll help you install it. 3 grown men with no other customers didn't even give them the time of day or even sell them a battery to self install. Instead gave them some BS excuse as of to why they could not install it and told them to take it to the dealer or Walmart FOR A BATTERY CHANGE!!! They then had to walk next door to auto zone in which they were more than happy to help them purchase and install a new battery with no issues. Referring them to competitors because of laziness is bad for business. I hope you employ people in the future who are willing to help a stranded grandmother and granddaughter. read more

This place is terrible. Last time I I came here they were friendly so I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. But I asked JT for help with a new key fob battery and windshield wipers. He told me to pry open the key fob and the screw isn't the way it is opened. Well now it's cracked and broken. Congratulations Jt. Your are incompetent in the basics of you job. Wow. Unbelievable. Upgraded to the Better wipers prior with an awesome staff. Then returned bc my wipers are still not cleaning the windshield... JT who was super short, blamed it on the pollen... the debris was removed & the windshield wipers are dont the same thing! The point of wipers is for a Clear windshield. I asked him to o check it after it was cleared & JT just walked away!!! I use to chose this business over Auto zone and the alternative bc of the warm service & the staff always being friendly & amazing. (Which it was a few days ago with the younger guys that were there. What a disappointment JT was & I told him how poor his service was & how he walked away. His excuse is that he had another customer. I was his customer until I was finished! The manager needs to speak with him about his demeanor, as he has lost a Customer, and I'll be sure to tell everyone about my Rude, abrupt experience. I had to buy a headlight bulb yesterday evening when mine burned out. At the advice of my boyfriend, I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts. "Ask them to install it for you. They do that sort of thing all the time," he said. Now, my neighborhood O'Reilly is located right next door to an AutoZone. I don't know who thought of that crazy setup, but whatever. Autozone's lot was pretty full, while O'Reilly's lot had 2 cars in it. I'm a busy single mom of three with no idea about cars or which auto parts store I should choose over another, so I based my decision on the emptiness of the lot and the probability that I would get help quickly and go home to continue on with my mom duties. Finding the bulb was easy enough. The guy behind the counter looked it up on his computer and led me to it, didn't try to sell me the most expensive one. That was pretty cool. I asked him if there was someone who could install the bulb for me, and he replied by saying that there were only two employees in the store - himself and another guy. So he wasn't able to help me with it tonight, but if I came back in the morning, they could do it. Fair enough. It seemed far fetched that this guy was THAT concerned with the security of the store, or with leaving his buddy to man the register alone, but I let it go. Next morning, I returned to the store to see if I could get the bulb installed. The same guy was there from the previous evening, talking on the phone. I stood and waited for several minutes, until his coworker came out of the back room and asked me if I needed any help. I told him what I was there for, and he proceeded to answer a phone call while I stood at the counter and waited some more. Finally, the first guy got off the phone and very unenthusiastically approached, saying "Let's go look at it..." We went outside, I lifted the hood. He looked at it for a second and then said "It looks like the battery has to come out in order to get to this, and we're not equipped to do that here in the parking lot. You're probably gonna have to take it to a shop." OK, I know I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars, but REALLY? Take it to a shop TO CHANGE A LIGHTBULB? Are you kidding me? Even I know better than that. And don't they have to take out the battery to test it, which is a service that all auto parts stores offer? This guy just flat out could not be bothered with me, and lied to my face in order to get rid of me. He even offered to refund me for the bulb. I should have taken him up on it and driven 50 feet to AutoZone, where I'm sure they would have been happy to help me. I will not be back to this store, no matter how empty their parking lot is. read more

My friend and I were dealing with a dead battery and her air conditioning not working so we decided to go to This O'Reilly auto parts store to get a new battery. John David approached us immediately and was so genuinely sweet to us because he too had daughters of his own and he understood how it felt not to have our dads here to help us. He looked up the battery first for a warranty and it still had one, so he replaced the whole battery and this also solved the air conditioning problem. He also checked the alternator for the air conditioning to make sure it was working as well and it was. Everyone is the store we're also so friendly and helpful and gave great recommendations for help in other areas of our cars. If you ever need anything for your car or help with it, I suggest this location first. read more

My husband changed the battery in my car on Sunday afternoon. While he was putting it back in he lost one of the bolts that holds the battery in place. I went back to O'Reilly the next day and they went above and beyond to find a bolt that fit. They went a step further and made sure that everything looked good and fit nice and tug around my battery. I visited this location today because my drivers side light bulb went out. I bought the bulb and went home to put it in thinking it wouldn't be a problem. After trying to figure out why I couldn't get the current bulb off and why it didn't look like the one I bought I called O'Reilly. The man I spoke to over the phone welcomed me back and let me know they would try to put the bulb in. Well when I arrived it was a totally different story. The same guy that checked me out the first time asked how he could help me, I let him know I had just called and was told someone could help me replace my light bulb. His response was "as long as we don't have to take anything off" his tone already let me know I would be asking for a refund. This guy walks outside with me, I already have my hood up, he took one look at my car and said it's a halogen bulb you don't want to put this in right now. I'm thinking it's not raining and there was a female who works there that was outside attempting to change a bulb the first visit and was still out there on my return visit so what was the issue with replacing my bulb? I leave my home for work at 5:30am so no I can't wait to replace the bulb. I just asked for a refund because it was obvious he didn't want to help this customer. Went right next door to Autozone. One man checked me out while the other installed my light..Thank you Autozone!!! I will never return to O'Reilly. read more

I go here because there is never anyone here. this is because their service sucks. my must recent visit was frustrating though. I went on Friday and spoke to Daniel. I asked about a tool I wanted to rent/borrow. I asked about the return process and he let me know I could use credit or debit. i had bad experience with the time frame in the past using credit(took a month for refund) so i went with debit. The tool was in great condition and i went back the following day with my daughter. Daniel was there and said he could not refund me because of amount. I was like "we went over all this yesterday... are you not going to honor what you stated?" I guess he felt bad and called his assistant manager Aaron to approve the refund. arron then comes out and starts venting to me about their policies. I got my oil changed at the Shell Rapid Lube on Slaughter Ln. These guys are always fast. They changed my oil then told me I needed a new air filter. He told me that they did not have any in stock but told me to go to O' Reilly's or Auto Zone which was right around the corner and buy one. He told me to bring it back and he would put it on for me... Which I thought was pretty awesome. I thanked him and went straight to O' Reilly Auto Parts because they have always been so good to me. As soon as I walked in the door an employee greeted me at the door and asked me if he could help me. I told him I needed an air filter for my truck and asked if it was easy to put on. He told me he would get it and put it on for me! How wonderful is that!!!!! He was so very polite! I love that store and will always buy from them. Today started out terrible, we found a leak in our house and my car wouldn't start. After having trouble with several auto shops in Austin, I did not know where to go. Based purely on the distance I thought my car could make it I ended up at O'Reilley -- and I couldn't be happier. John David was extremely kind and genuine and helped me to find the issue with my car in minutes. He went out of his way to offer solutions. I walked in fairly sure I knew what my problem was. I was able to talk about it with two of the people that worked there and we all agreed. They told me I could try the part and then return it if it wasn't right. They had a bin of tools up front and I was able to replace the part in the parking lot. Now I have working brake lights, haha. He sold me my battery and installed it for free even though they close at 9 p.m. and normally do not do installations after 8 p.m. This trip was super easy, pleasant, courteous and quick. At the 9505 Manchaca location , I encountered Richard Gonzales this morning and I had a really great experience. I needed to replace the license plate lightbulbs but they were a bit tricky to access. I knew they had a program where I could borrow a tool but Richard helped me figure out how to access it by actually removing the panel on the inside of the trunk for me. He used a door panel remover tool and popped out the plastic buttons that holds the felt panel in place and then popped out the 2 covers in order to remove the dead bulbs. Not knowing anything about how to do this, I would have been very frustrated and probably taken twice as long to figure out. I purchased the double light bulbs and Richard considerately popped the new bulbs into the sockets , then placed those sockets into the electrical wires that are the permanent part of the car. It was a specialty tool that made removing the plastic buttons very easy but it wasn't on their tool borrowing cart. He took it from the shelf, new and unopened, used it for my purpose, because he was going to buy it for himself. Then , we replaced the felt panel on the inside of the trunk , and Richard went behind the call of duty. I have an old Lexus 2000 , so possibly that could be the reason why access to these license plate bulbs is tricky and somewhat difficult . Richard really made my day, with his kindness, and courteous help. I also needed help with 2 codes that indicated I had an emissions problem and Richard offered to investigate further what these codes meant with their diagnostic tool. I stopped in here after leaving Discount Electronics when someone in the parking lot told me my blinker was out in my work truck. An employee John-David was very helpful. He helped me get the right bulb and then installed it for me as we tested it (much easier with 2 people). I was so impressed by the customer service I told him I would make a point of posting a positive Yelp review. This employee and store definitely deserves it.
