I was having a battery issue. Extreme corrosion. Aric was so helpful and attentive. He went above an beyond to clean the battery connections and and cables. I was very impressed with the level of service and am glad that I came here for battery help. I highly recommend.

Regarding Advance Auto Parts 5127 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 Buyer beware! I am basically a trusting person, wanting to believe the best of people. I purchased an Optima red top battery from this store last week. I contacted the store and asked if they had a "fresh" battery and was told they had a Jan. 21 battery in stock. Optima batteries have the coded date of manufacture on a long white sticker on the side as well as on a simplified smaller round sticker. I asked Miles for the January battery. He brought one with a 12/20 round sticker. I restated I wanted the January 2021 battery. He said "Oh, right" and brought a battery with a 1/21 round sticker on it. Foolishly, I did not double check the larger white sticker (until I was home). Obviously, he switched the small round sticker, which was removed from the installed battery (also noticed at home). The battery he installed was manufactured 3/19/2020 (see photo). God bless you Miles! "The first digit states the year. Digits 2,3, & 4 equal the day of the year. If the date code on the top of the battery is missing use the bar code sticker to qualify the date of the battery."

I think this is another one of those places where your mileage may vary based upon your DIY knowhow and who you get in store to help you, but I had a positive experience here today, one I thought worth sharing. I'm a relative neophyte when it comes to car repair and barely better than that when it comes to maintenance, and these folks have helped me out of a tight spot or two. My ride is working on three years old, and as an import, occasionally finding the right parts without heading some place special can be a bit of a pain. But the dude at Advance helped shore me up today, and I was glad for it. As no doubt will be the people who have to ride around me. Thanks, Advance dude.

Jude helped me pick out the right type and came out to my car to teach me how to change them for no charge.

I had purchased my tires from them when I was getting Big Blue serviced. Wifey had been to our local Firestone and was always treated well, so popped up. Walked in the door and immediately greeted by William at around 10am. I mentioned what the issue was and he immediately jumped into action and asked if he could look himself. Out we went and quickly he found a screw in my tire. Immediately put me at ease and told me that this was completely fixable. Back inside he put together the service ticket. It would be about an hour wait and perhaps 30 minute fix. My bad, I didn't bring my laptop, since they had complimentary wifi. Also, some complementary cold water, I did rue the fact I had left my Yeti with coffee siting in my office at the casa. I pulled up a seat and nestled in. Discovery on the TV had Oak Island Treasure show, what a lot of bollock that is. People watching as almost as good as being in the Social Security office. Entertained myself and then was called up to look at what all they had found. A very soft offer to add a new air cleaner, oil change and one other item, which I declined. I mean everyone does this, no matter it being a little irritating to be reviewed. Just stood my ground and politely declined. I was trading my car in the next month or so for the new 2027 QX65, so these items would be taken care of by the dealership. I noticed my car up in the bay and not to long after it scooted by to be parked and picked up. The only tiny little suggestion, it was another 15mins after the car was parked, that the ticket came up to William to check me out. He was also with another walk in at that point. Pro-tip, next time I will get there when they open, since I think this tire patch would have only been 30 mins. It overall was a pleasant experience, it does do a lot of walk up traffic, so plan accordingly. You could leave your car with them and they will call you when ready. I'll be back if needed! Out the door for $32, job done!

Review for Firestone Complete Auto Care - East Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX…read more I recently took my daughter's vehicle to this Firestone location for their advertised $19 A/C service check. The service manager claimed they could not perform the check because their machine "detected two types of refrigerant" in the system. This raised red flags, so I contacted several other Firestone locations and spoke with multiple managers and A/C technicians. Every single one told me they had never heard of a system that can detect refrigerant type in this way. When I called the general manager of the East Palm Valley location to address my concerns, he became argumentative rather than offering a clear explanation. The impression I was left with is that this store uses the $19 A/C check as a bait-and-switch tactic--claiming there's an issue, then telling you that you need more Freon before they can proceed, which conveniently raises the cost to over $400. My advice: be cautious. Ask questions, get a second opinion, and don't fall for upsell tactics that don't make sense.

They don't even pull the wheels off, but they pillage all the trunks so there's no lug wrenches floating around. Several of the cars with wheels still on are not even stabilized properly to make wheel removal safe. Every time I think it might be worth the time savings of stopping here instead of their competitors I'm proven wrong. It's barely a functional salvage yard and more often than not a complete waste of time. Just use car-part.com or wrench-a-part. You'll be glad you did.

Bring more tools than you think you'll need. There's often other people out there who may or may not help you if you forget a tool, I had someone loan me an electric ratchet when I forgot my regular ratchet set in the car, only had basic wrenches in my bag (and didn't want to pay the $3 again). They WILL look through your stuff on your way out. There's also Wrench A Part in Del Valle, but that's a lot further for me, and they rarely have my car model.
