After knowing the problem was one of my ignition coils not died, Victor was very patient showing me where the part located and also offering this suggestions - pay someone to change the part or I could do it myself, he ended up ordering the part and taught me how to change the part. I needed some help with a car battery that was going bad for our son. I planned to remove the battery myself but didn't have the extension tool needed to remove the battery housing clamp. The problem was made worse due to the rapid degradation of the battery and it not starting the vehicle at times. Time was running short. When I called today they said if I can get the vehicle to the parking lot they would install the new battery and remove the old one. I knew if they couldn't help me out I would have some issues with the car not starting again once I turned it off. They came out to the car and said, no problem, they can handle this with no issues. The good news continued with them having the exact AGM battery I wanted. I was in and out in about 10min or less. They also made sure to wipe down inside the engine compartment and cleaned up the terminals etc. They were also very friendly and happy to help out from the first phone call to when I was driving away with a new battery. I couldn't be happier with the experience. They are my default now for auto parts and tools. Full 5 stars. They deserved every bit of them. read more

So I usually go to the one in Escondido blvd but not any more. The last two times I have gone to the Felicitas location and they are so much more helpful with any question they are willing to go above an beyond. I went today for a battery swap because my red top optima was not holding a charge. Braulio ran every test to make sure. The last think he did is see where is was after all the test he ran and saw after all the tests it had gone down 10 percent which is not normal. So he took good car of me. I don't generally leave reviews for retail stores, however since moving to Escondido I have been to this AutoZone on Felicita a couple times and the service has been exceptional. I recommend going back if you have been there before and weren't super satisfied because they are under new management and I'm positive the experience will be a good one. The first time I went I wasn't sure what type of oil to use for my new used car. I had gotten a recommendation from the dealership, however what was explained to me at the store is that the recommendation was for a new car, while mine is pretty old with high mileage so it would run better with a different type. So far so good! The employee who helped me was so nice, he wasn't even on a shift but the store was busy so he went ahead and helped me anyway. How nice. The next time I went in I was having some serious trouble with my other used car - wouldn't start! I was across the street and Luis the store manager and Andrew one of the employees really went out of their way to help me figure out what the problem was and even helped me fix it! Luis took an exceptional amount of time helping me, had a great overall attitude and even made me laugh while I was stressed out. I'm super grateful because they saved me a ton of money that I didn't really even have to spend, not to mention the time it would have taken me if I had to get it towed and fixed elsewhere. I am so outraged at their service, that I had to add the business to yelp so that I could trash them. I go in, wait in "line," have two people cut me, then after 15 minutes I get a, "Do you need help?" I tell the woman that I need to purchase a new battery for my car. She then tells me to go outside and wait for her to come out and test the battery. I go outside and wait for another 15 minutes. She then strolls outside, does a 30 second test on my battery, and tells me that I need a new one: I came here because I knew that already, but okay. I go inside, and I choose which battery I want. She keeps trying to coerce me to upgrade but I stand my ground. I then ask her if I could purchase spark plugs as well: a sensible add-on to a car battery purchase. She adds it to my bill and I ask her if the man could install my spark plugs along with my battery. This is the conversation we have. Me: Could he also please install the spark plugs along with the battery? Cashier: Ummm, no hahaha. Do you know what spark plugs are? Me: Yes, but I do not know how to install them or even where they go. If you won't install it for me, then I don't want to purchase them. Cashier: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! A neighboring cashier asks her what's wrong and the woman helping me replies to the other in Spanish. Then they both proceed to laugh at me. The second woman then says, "They're reeeeeal easy to put in." Me: I understand that it's probably standard procedure, but I haven't the slightest clue about where they go so I am not messing up my car. Cashier: They're really easy to put in. Me: Do you know how to put them in? Cashier: No . . . well yeah I do but THAT I won't do for you. Me: I don't want them. Never did I expect to receive such condescending service. I'm not sure why this AutoZone has any 1 star reviews. I've always been pleased shopping here. The employees are helpful, knowledgable and are willing to talk you through your repairs. Just today I got assistance replacing the rear brake pads on my Toyota Sequoia. I was able to speak to two of their people and nail down the exact product I need for my application. Went in to purchase a fuel filter. Got what I needed, came home and opened the box to find a used fuel filter. There was no caps on the ends and road grime all over it. I took it back and went to get the only other one on the shelf that would fit my truck. I opened the box in the store and it was the same thing. This was the ONLY Autozone who could help me get the correct brake pads for my truck. I visited 2 other locations and they kept giving me the wrong ones, even when I explained I wanted the heavier duty version, which was an upgrade. The other stores "couldn't find what I was talking about" and treated me like I was just a woman who had no idea what she needed, and gave me a cheaper version ,even though I had the old brake pads with me to compare. The young man who helped me at this location was able to find the exact brake pads I was talking about, and informed me they were covered under the lifetime warranty. So, not only did I get what I needed, I didn't even have to pay for them! On top of that I was treated no differently than anyone else that came in. A mechanic worked on my car a few days ago and when driving my car after, noticed something was terribly wrong. I texted him, but he never responded. I wanted to get a diagnostic test to see what was the problem as my car now stutters when driven and going uphill slows down when shifting gears. Since it is Labor Day weekend, I couldn't find a shop that had anyone available. So I thought I would call AutoZone and they told me to bring the car in, gave me a free diagnostic test to identify the problem, and then "Art" had me lift the hood and saw right away what the problem was. The inner cooler hose was not connected, but just dangling loose. Turns out the mechanic never reconnected it! So thank you AutoZone and Art for relieving my stress, not charging me a dime for the test, and making my weekend better. My check engine light immediately went off, my car is running like a champ, all in the process of 10 minutes. Love you guys! Donuts coming in your near future! read more

I went to this Auto Zone location on my lunch break today to purchase a new battery for my Kia Soul. My customer service rep was Ryan. He checked my old battery and installed the new battery for me. My car still would not start. Matt came out to take a look they checked the starter relay, fuses they both went way above and beyond their duties. They did offer a diagnosis, turns out is is a manufacturer security issue that many Kia owners are experiencing. Matt and Ryan did eventually get my car started for me and I will now take it to Kia. I've never experienced such courteous service. They were so kind and concerned and did everything they could to get my car started. Great job guys!!! read more

Because of the one bad review this autozone got, i was hesitant to go, but this autozone was much closer to my house than the other one in town so i figured i'd at least check it out. I was pleasantly surprised I went in for new windshield blades. I have never gotten new blades or changed out old ones before so i didnt really know what i was doing, other than that wipper blades are supposed to be easy to change out. A lady at the counter helped me find the blades i needed for my car and another gentleman came out to my car to show me how to take the old one off and put the new ones on. I really appreciated this cuz, like i said, i had never done it before. The blades i had initially gotten ended up being the wrong size, so the gentleman that was helping me put them on went to find a slightly bigger blade. While he was doing that, i ended up fixing my old blades (I guess the rubber part had slipped out of a metal fitting and i just needed to squeeze it back into place). I let the guy know i figured it out on my own, and he gave me a refund for the blades no problem. I dont know what the other chick that left the one star was talking about. I didnt have any problems with this autozone. I told the people working there i really appreciated their help (even though they didnt even end up selling me any blades) and that i would make a special effort to rectify their one bad review. I have actually never left a yelp review before, but i felt it was my duty to let the world know these guys are alright. read more

Horrible customer service. Store manager a total jerk. I purchased chains here for my SUV (for snow) gave the employee my EXACT tire size, and he gave me the "correct" sized chains for $90. He guaranteed these would be the correct size. Fast forward to my trip to Yosemite and I am in the snow, putting chains on. Chains way too big (yet fit with enough work & zip ties). The extra slack completely chewed up my wheel well (now rusting), ripped off both mudflaps on each side. Several people (including AAA) said these chains were way too big. Asked store manager for refund, the dude was a total -------- about it. The manager below him was nice, but the store manager... dude should be fired. Rude as can be, denied that his incompetent employees would ever sell the incorrect chain size, took no blame for anything, and was extremely condescending towards me. Have spent a lot of money here in the past, will take my business elsewhere. I never write reviews on Yelp, but this specific instance was enough for me to create an account and write this dude a review. 1/10. read more

I usually go to this autozone for my car needs and is usually very pleasing to shop in. First time seeing this guy work there (young white guy with a full tattoo on his arm). I tell him about my battery possibly not being good and it being under warranty and asked if he could test it and he instantly looks like he doesn't want to do anything with me and wipes his face looking annoyed. Sees my car and says "good ole VQs unreliable as hell" and keeps bashing on it. Says nothing good about it and I tell him that I was thinking of getting a corolla s because of its fuel efficiency and reliability. Bashed on that too and says I'm becoming a dad like lol but the dude is just hella depressing and hates his job and makes the customers hella uncomfortable. They need to fire him and hire someone that actually likes to do his job and doesn't have any attitude. Guy needs to learn "customer service" because he has none. read more

I went in to autozone #5651 at 8:14pm pacific time on 9/22/2020, hoping to buy some headlights for my car. The store was empty with no customers inside, besides my wife and I. At the front register, there was an employee by the name of James K. He did not greet us and just stared at me like I was dumb and looked away. When I asked if he could help me, he shaked his head at me like "what do you want?" How am I supposed to know if hes ready for a customer or not when he doesn't even bother to look at us when we go into the store? He just looked away like we were not there. It was not until I decided to walk out when he asked how he can help me. By then it was too late and I decided there was no need for horrible customer service when there are other auto parts stores nearby. The worst part of this whole entire situation was that when I went back in to look at his name tag, he was the STORE MANAGER! What kind of customer service skills are the managers at Autozone being thought, if any at all. I will never go back and will instead go to O'Reillys. I will make sure to let all my friends and family know about this manager and store. I will also make sure that they no longer shop there! Came in to get an oil filter and some oil for my 89 honda accord. First a young lady with glasses helped me, real nice. There was no line. So i was attended quickly. She told me the oil i needed and which filter which i proceeded to find quickly. When i was ready to pay the manager rung me up and i asked about the oil change kit which includes oil, oil pan, filter, towels, oil, funnel, and hand cleaner for $29.95. She asked me if i wanted an air filter and said no that i changed it 1 year ago. Well we went outside and check my filter and it was black! So i bought a filter and installed it and then paid for everything, about $42 bucks. Excellent customer service! And right around the corner from my job. While i was being rung up all the other workers were helping alot of customers and they all looked satisfied with the service they were receiving. Very professional and knowledgeable staff.
