Once I got home, I discovered I had been given the basic Sylvania bulb, which sells for about $31 online. I paid for a premium product but was handed a cheaper one instead. I'd definitely double check what you're getting at this store, It seems they may try to swap for the cheaper product if you're not knowledgeable. If a customers pay for a specific product, they should receive the exactly what they ordered. This experience has made me question the accuracy and quality control of Advance Auto Parts' online pickup process, and the integrity of the employees. I won't be using this location again.

Walking in, the store is large and open with a the right mix of tools, fluids, consumables and floor stock to get easier jobs done, no barrage of frou-frou garbage to shine your car tires, no tweety-bird floor mats, no bullet-hole decals. As you walk to the prominent service counter you notice a comforting odor of WD40 and engine oil, think of it as a sign. These guys get straight to the point, provide insight and help on questions you have, often everything you need in stock by a quality brand and at competitive pricing. What sends this place over the top is in the back though. There you'll find one of the most competent and speedy machine shops you'll ever have need of. Swap out some bushings? Ten minutes. New wheel bearings pressed in? Overnight. The machine shop alone is reason enough to frequent Hastings.

They looked over the tires first and told me I needed a new lug nut for my front passenger tire. I asked how much for a new lug nut would be and they said $90. I politely declined after checking the prices online and said there's nothing wrong with the lug nut but there's something wrong with trying to price gouge. They go for less than $20 at auto part stores. They then refused to rotate the tires because it puts their staff "in danger". I left and went over to the Discount Tire on 14 Mile in Troy. They had me in and out in 25 minutes and when I asked about the lug nut in question they said there's nothing wrong with any of them. Sadly I cannot recommend Discount Tire in Centerline because of their dishonest business practices.

On this last visit, June 1st, they told me my tires needed to be replaced and they couldn't rotate them. The tires are rated for 55,000 miles and I've put 40,000 on them so far. I said I plan to purchase new tires in the fall and I'm not replacing them today. I've always purchased my tires at Discount and haven't had any trouble in the past getting them rotated except the last year. It seems like they don't want to honor their free tire rotation without selling you something you don't need.

They didn't have my name on file even though I bought tires from them 4 years ago, but it didn't matter much because I'm never there any ways. It took 2 hours to rotate my tires? Is it supposed to take that long? Who knows, the guy said it would be slow because of the lack of people, but whatever I was tired, and I just wanted to take a nap. 2 naps later, they were done. They found metal in 2 tires and patched it up for me, and I was only my way for only 22 bucks after tax. Shit, I applaud the guy who fixed it, 22 dollars for 2 hours of work? Don't sign me up for that. HOWEVER, my tires had a huge leak the next day and I took it back 2 days later. Turns out the first guy who fixed it didn't patch the leak correctly when they removed the metal, so they patched it up in exchange for another hour of my life. Is 3 hours of my life worth 22 dollars? That's about $7.33 per hour, which is below minimum wage. Well, my tires also got rotated, so that's a plus. I'll be back...never!
