Jeff was having a bad day and took it out on me....... I went in to get a lilium battery charger. Asked Jeff for help when I purchased it, he recommended the most expensive one. I asked him if it was returnable he said yes. I got back into return it as it is not a lithium charger and he treated me like garbage. Suggested that I changed my battery and then wanted to return it. No I did not even use it. Proceed to batter me as if I was retruning a used item and made accusations towards me. Just completely rude. So rude the sales person apologized for his co workers behavior. I wished Jeff a better day and hope he learns not to be such a DICK in his day to day life. - Although this shop is conveniently located I will be purchasing at Walmart or Lowes up the street. No customer should ever be treated like this. Spend your money elsewhere...sadly this was the last local shop. read more

Today is Monday, February 27th, 2023 at about 1:45PM. I walk in to this place with two car batteries that I needed tested to make sure that these batteries were the problem. The sickly looking "Manager" came up to us and offered to test the battery. Guy says that he can test our battery no problem but there's no need to charge the battery just to make sure, as we requested. They placed their "tester" on our battery and said that BOTH batteries were, as they put it, "Door Stoppers" at best. We would need two new batteries at a minimum of around $200 a piece. OK, we left and got a second opinion. One of the batteries that they said was bad was a AAA Battery I bought a year and a half ago. A 3 year warranty sticker was on it still. So we decided to call AAA and have them replace the battery for free, and the second battery was decided to take to a second opinion. The AAA guy came, charged us for a service call of course, and tested the battery. The AAA guy said the battery was good, and he can't replace it. The other battery was tested by the individuals that we wanted a second opinion from, and they ALSO said that the battery was good! After an hour and a half of wasted time, we figured out why the engine wasn't cranking and the truck wasn't getting power. It was corrosion around the sensitive areas in the truck. The battery connectors were cleaned and the truck works beautifully now. The batteries were absolutely fine, and both AAA testing and the second opinion testing on two separate batteries immediately came up fine. This means that there are blatant liars here, and do not ever trust this location. They will just rip you off at any chance they can get. These retail employees don't even get real extra profits themselves for ripping people off. They are just scumbags that must do it just to make people suffer. My day today proved it, and I spent a bunch of extra money because of their dishonesty. I'm born and raised in San Clemente, and these people need to go away forever. If any corporate person is checking these, they should be able to figure out who to get rid of based on my timeline. read more

Manager Harold really went above & beyond for me. I appreciate his recommendations on to slow down a leak with my power steering fluid... he even helped me fill up the fluids & checked my oil 5 s!! knowing I was leaving there to go get a smog, he also recommended a fuel cleaner and a great star certified smog only spot called 'San Clemente Test Only Smog Center' over by rainbow sandals factory! Im here now waiting for my smog and was given a ten minute wait time & a smile! Mechanical anything gives me anxiety & Harold totally made sure I was taken care of, Thank You once again! I was having trouble starting my hybrid , battery issues, and first called autozone but was offered zero assistance and help on where I could find a replacement battery and if they could do a battery test. Apparently asking for help is super inconvenient for auto-zone. I called OReilly and Kyle was very helpful, informative and gave me my options, prices and potential issues and even did the battery test for me when I arrived at the store. I could not recommend this store more. This was my first time going to O'Reilly Auto Parts. Previously I had just gone to Walmart to get basic auto parts but came here after a friend recommended it since they can check your car code for free. My car had its check engine light on so I wanted to see what's wrong. The first reader wasn't working, but instead of just turning me away, Timothy, one of the workers, tried different readers until they were able to get one to work. Once we figured out what the code was I was about to drive away but my car kept shutting off. Timothy helped me pop the hood and diagnose what was going on. He got me the tools and showed me how to replace all the spark plugs and filter in the vehicle. We also replaced the steering fluid and coolant. After that. I turned the car back on and the check engine went off and car worked perfectly. I saved hundreds of dollars going here and getting the right parts and assistance from the helpful staff than I would've if I went to a mechanic. Thank you Timothy, the other great workers there, and San Clemente O'Reilly for making a great establishment. I had made a trip to San Clemente from Long Beach, I found that my tire was flat and I was freaking out, all the tire shops nearby were closed and I didn't know what to do; I came to O' Reilly as I saw it was open and the man who saved the day was named Dylan who worked there on Sunday, March 26th around 9 AM, he was so understanding and kind and knowledgeable as I was anxious and frantic as I never had a flat before. He helped me find where the tire was punctured, sealed it and even filled up the tire pressure. Today and trouble was saved thanks to Dylan, and I'm so grateful for him and O' Reilly's! read more

The manager Harold has always been very rude but when I entered the building without a mask he took it to a new level. He doesn't understand the laws and privacy and doesn't seem to care. I told him I will not wear a mask because of my health and he said he needed to see a doctors note- which he is not supposed to ask and you don't have to tell them. I was in this store less than an hour ago, and two young males walked in without a mask on and the Manager (Harold) says "hey Marines, I need you to go outside and read the sign on my door". The Manager then proceeded to verbally bash the young service members to another customer and said "young Marines and can't even read a sign on the door". I laid my items down and walked out of the store, I was disgusted. Masks are not required on the military base and the young Marines are probably used to that, they made a simple mistake, and this store manager took advantage of the situation and berated them behind their back to another customer. Big Selection for a small place (Rating 3.5) So I went to another parts store before here with no luck. Coming here, I asked about an unusual headlight bracket piece I needed and they pointed me to where they thought it would be. There were 2 guys there, one at the counter and the other watching and talking. So I spent quite a bit of time looking for it and finally the kid that was talking came over and asked me if I needed some help. He pointed me to an alternative solution which I was grateful for. Let me inform you of the horrible customer service experience I had this morning that was clearly racism at its best. I walked in to the Manager Harold (Caucasian man) who was speaking to another customer about firearms,ammunition and war. Once he saw me standing there he continued to speak about shooting/violence with another customer and completely ignored me. Once the client left, I asked him a question on where I could find a part. My car battery died unexpectedly last night. Triple A was almost unable to recharge it. It was barely still under warranty and I did not have the purchase receipt from O'Reilly's though I did purchase it there in 2013. I was so grateful that Harold , the store manager stopped what he was doing , tested my battery to make sure it was really dead and then immediately replaced it with another one and sent me on my way! No cost! No questions! He did take time though to explain what drain's the battery's charge (starting the car too quickly and starting it with other items going like the car air conditioner plus the stop and go traffic of only just traveling locally on a daily basis.)
