Not only are they incredibly rude but they're also disorganized. We called to ask if when we bought our battery if it can be installed and they said yes. We went to the store, bought the battery but when it came time to install they told us there wasn't anyone here that could do it. They then proceeded to rent us tools for an additional $22 and the tool set was missing pieces necessary to do the install. It took an employee coming out and letting us use their personal toolbox to be able to do the job. A complete mess and drawn out process. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I went in needing help and not one person helped me. They all stood around talking. When someone finally came to help me they told me they didn't have the item in stock didn't even bother going to check and walked away to talk to the other person. Everyone has a piss poor attitude nobody ever wants to help. And the store is a mess. Trying to get something becomes at 10 mins or more process. read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could.....I went in with my 24DL battery and asked for assistance from a clerk. Since 24DL was not available, the clerk sold me a 24 core battery and assured me that it will fit. The + and - were reversed and I had to come back to return. No apology from the clerk at all and I will not be shopping at the Seaside Oreillys any time soon. read more

Staff are good, and it's good to have this place around for oil changes and the occasional tool rental, but a lot of the parts they sell are substandard. I recently bought some wheel speed sensors and one was defective right out of the box. I tested it with a multimeter to confirm. They took the return, but you're better off buying stuff at rock auto if you know what you need, the parts are better quality and they're usually a fraction of the cost. read more

Who is the BITCH answering the phone at O'Reilly Auto Parts on Freemont Street? I just called to get price and availability on a car battery. She went silent for so long that I didn't know if she was still on the line? When she spoke, it was so FAST and mumbled that I could not understand any information that she gave me. When I asked to to repeat, she replied, "SHIT, HOLD ON!" That is when I hung up the phone and gave my business to Carquest instead. This woman has no business working in retail sales with the public. My boyfriend and I went to visit Monterey Fisherman's Wharf last weekend and got into some car trouble--only one of our brake lights were working and eventually both lights stopped working yet all three taillights were working. We put in need bulbs and new fuses! Needless to say, the act of trying to fix the issue in the evening was frustrating (there weren't mechanic shops open by the evening). 20 minutes before closing, we tried out luck with O'Reilly's Autoshop. Assistant Manager Jose was SUPER AMAZING!!! He advised us and quickly discovered the issue with the brake switch's position. We're really really grateful that Jose helped us out. oh wow, the employees at this location are truly brain dead. went to get a car cover for my mom. trying to find out if they had one when she called on the phone was painful to listen to. it was like she was pulling teeth to get any useful information out of the person. we later went to the store to purchase the car cover. we told the employee what the model of her car was. he brought up the cover and we assumed it was the right size. imagine our surprise when we got home and it was the wrong size! how hard is it for the employee to pick the right one off the shelf and sell it to us? apparently very hard. and honestly, we shouldn't have to do their job to check the accuracy of the product. when we figured out the issue, we called the store to get them to deliver the correct one to us. they refused saying that there was a law prohibiting deliveries to residences. well let's just say that AMAZON doesn't have this problem and that's why everyone uses them to shop. people at this store either have no brains or no training or no common sense and they definitely don't know how to read. so not impressed. so never shopping at this location again. next stop, amazon.com! read more

Had an interesting experience here today. I had to get some car washing supplies and some windshield washing fluid. Bottom line is that I asked for a bag to put these things in since I couldn't carry it all out to my car without a bag. The guy helping me was really nice but when I asked for a bag he said "I can't give you one because we live by the ocean." He finally was able to give me a box to carry my stuff in but really. I can drive, vote, buy alcohol, etc. but I can't be trusted with a bag??? It's more funny than anything. He provided me with good service but the whole bag comment really perplexed me. read more

I went to buy oil and a filter and low and behold the only oil and filter they had was the most expensive. Even on their mis-advertised oil , filter specials you buy a certain amount of oil and their on "special"filter you save money ha! They had no oil except the most expensive synthetic oil they sale and to boot they didn't have the cheap special filter..... so I upgraded on the filter and then ended up walking away from the store spending double of what I was originally in for. I will stick with NAPA or the Dealership for now on. read more

Went to the O'Reilly Auto Parts in Seaside to get parts to do my brakes on a Chrysler 300 and the sales associate that helped me asked if my car was rear wheel drive or all wheel drive, I told him rear wheel every part that he gave was for all wheel drive so all parts were wrong . So I had to return a parts to get the right ones talked with another associate seemed like he was new so I asked for the Store Manager to help and he was clueless didn't know the difference in the rotors for my car so he gave me the wrong rotors and come to find out that the difference was either rear wheel or all wheel drive, he was saying it had to do with the thickness of the rotors wrong so make along story short took 9 trips to get all the correct brake pads rotors for my car . So I called customer service and told them what had happened and that I would like to talk with the District manager so they took my info and 4 hours later he called we talked for about 20 minutes he told me to text all my receipts for the transactions so I sent them to him and he said he would look into and get back to me so 2 weeks won't buy I texted him to see what he was going to do no response to either of my texts so that goes to show why the store manager and associates are horrible the staff is only as good as the leader that leads the he don't care so why shod they . I would go to Auto Zone or Napa if you want to get the correct parts for car and good customer service not the bullshit service I got from O'Reilly Auto Parts in Seaside ca and just want say thanks to the DM for all his help NOT! read more

Because the screws that hold the front license plate on my car are wider than the holes on the license plate, I had to buy a license plate holder that accommodated wider between-screw distances. I need very specific oil for my car (ESP formula Mobil1) I always order it at O'relly store at the different locations. I'm living very close to Monterey and trying to ordered this oil at this store... No success :( They can't place the order! But they promised to call me on the next day and say if they can/or can't find this oil for me. They never called! 2 stars - because they were friendly. But useful.... Still don't understand why it's so difficult to place the order and delivered the oil. I was ready to buy 2 boxes (24L). Is this to huge to order?)) read more

The guys that work here are friendly and courtious. They helped me to find the parts I needed and were wearing masks required for the current pandenic. Service was unbelievable! Alvaro is the man!! I have an 06 Altima and the headlights are very tough to change. After purchasing headlights for my car, Alvaro said he had an Altima too so he changed my headlights right there in the lot. That's what I call customer service. Solid service, went in to get a battery replacement. Employee working at the counter immediately greeted me, and came out, used a tool to analyze my battery, then promptly replaced the battery, he offered me the upgrade, but didn't push it when I didn't want it. Very friendly and nice, and they took my old battery - solid service, friendly employees, quick and attentive - doesn't get better than that. read more

I think O'Teilly is probably better in other parts of the country. This location is very "accessible" if you want to get fluid or a tire gauge without the garage-y smell. Can't really qualify it as the place to go. read more
