I'd hear "O-O-O O'Reilly's! Auto Parts! Woooaw!" Jingle on the radio and sometimes on TV commercials all the time, but never had been to one until recently. Back east, AutoZone and Advanced Auto reign supreme with Napa in a distant 3rd so I'm not quite sure why it'd be advertised so much. Well, this recent and first time visit to my local O'Reilly's was really good. The store is stocked and kept well so my search for a new air filter was fast, and they have a appropriate displayed QR codes so you can match up your vehicle without too much trouble. Ah no longer do I have to thumb through a book or even ask a staff member. Even if I did, I think they'd be helpful. When I stepped up to the counter, the attendant was friendly, asked if I found everything ok and all that which is always nice. Definitely will return to this conveniently located O'Reilly's when I need more parts.

super helpful, never condescending (which seems to come with the territory for the automotively vulnerable).

She explained the services we needed in detail and was very on top of making sure that we knew what to expect! They did not over-charge or try to sell us any services that we didn't need. There were a few hiccups along the way, but it's clear that this location is VERY busy and they are training several new employees. Even so, they were able to squeeze our car in for a diagnostic and repair when their garage was definitely full. Aforementioned hiccups did cause the repair to take twice as long as we thought, but I would definitely bring my mustang back here again because it's clear that they're just going through some growing pains with new staff and know what they're talking about for the most part. The pricing was reasonable, and they even recommended me a trustworthy shop to go to for a repair that they weren't able to complete. Overall, I genuinely think that Downtown Automotive cares about their customers and are working their behinds off to get all of their clients taken care of!

RE: No Charge If…read moreyou're looking for a reliable car repair shop, this isn't the place for you. We had our car in for an oil change before 9 am, expecting it to be done by 3 pm the next day. However, it wasn't done until 2 pm the following day. While they didn't charge us for the oil change, which was a nice gesture, we needed our car back on time. Additionally, this shop is difficult to find, and traffic is a constant issue. Considering these factors, we won't be returning to this place.

Because I worked here for a few years, and can offer…read morean honest, no-axe-to-grind insight as to prices AND what seems to be a fixation of reviewers here, the personalities you'll encounter there.*** N.E.A.R. is the best of the best if you need parts for your Euro-Heap to keep it running. Fair prices, and the best selection in the region. Now... As far as the stories about the lunatic who owns the place... They are ALL TRUE. He should probably be institutionalized for his own safety, considering the number of people he's infuriated over the years. That said, IF you can keep a sense of humor, and don't take yourself, or him, too seriously, you can get out of there with the exact parts you need, and at a reasonable price. If you are: Thin-skinned, humorless, need to be treated courteously, or with even a shred of dignity, or in a hurry, then this is NOT NOT NOT the place to go. Instead, visit Ravenna Motors, and buy your part new, pay 10 times (that's not a typo, or an exaggeration) what it would have run you at N.E.A.R. & leave with your nerves and sanity intact, and your wallet considerably lighter. This is what the British refer to as a "False Economy" which is a polite way of saying "You cheap-ass SOB, you've now spent two days docking around with this car and it STILL doesn't run the way it should (or at all) and you're no closer to fixing it. Swallow your pride, spend the money, and take your ass to the dealership, post-haste." Also, it's worth mentioning that sometimes a new part really IS necessary, and buying one off a junked car is unwise. This is because while they DO offer a "Lifetime Guarantee" on most parts sold, more often than not that represents a guarantee that you will spend a lifetime working on your car because you have mis-diagnosed the problem, OR because the used part is faulty. And, as stated, they'll happily swap it out for another, with the same caveat in place. And you will then be officially on the merry-go-round of "Guess What's Wrong With My Car", which is something I wouldn't wish on most people. A better option is to take your car (ESPECIALLY if it's pre-1992) to an independent mechanic who specializes in Volvos and get a correct diagnosis. THEN, and only then should you proceed to decide whether to buy new or used. Of course money is a factor in any decision, but chances are if you're trolling junkyards for a part, you are trying to save a buck, or are just morally offended by the idea of a $300 tail light. If money is NOT a concern, then don't fuck about. Go to the dealership closest to you, and get the part and job done correctly.
