I visited O'Reilly Auto Parts this afternoon to purchase windshield wipers because they offer free installation. As a single mother, I usually don't have the time or expertise to handle car maintenance myself. After purchasing the wipers, I requested the free installation and was told someone would be out to help. Since it was a quiet afternoon, I assumed the process would be quick. However, after waiting for around 20 minutes, Tom finally came out. He briefly attempted to remove the old wipers but quickly said, "I can't get it off, so you'll have to take it to your dealer to get it done." When I asked what made them difficult to remove, he simply repeated himself. It was clear he had no interest in completing the installation offered. My 10-year-old watched a quick 2 minute YouTube tutorial, and removed them in less than a minute. I returned into the store, and this time Geremy, the manager, stepped in. He was extremely polite and helpful. Not only did Geremy install the wipers, but he also took the time to show my kiddos how easy it was to do. If it weren't for Geremy's kindness and assistance, this review would have been much different. The rest of the staff were not very helpful, the wait was unnecessarily long, and Tom was anything but friendly, helpful or competent. A big thank you to Geremy for turning things around! Hopfully Geremy will train Tom on how to install wipers, as he appears to be gracious enough to do. read more

Currently boycotting all Oreilly's stores for not obeying the Governor's order that vaccinated citizens no longer need to wear a mask. I have trouble breathing already with Asthma, and I've been waiting a year for this stupid mask rule to go away, but Oreilly's wants to hang onto it. Therefore, they will lose my business and I will shift purchases to Fred Meyer, a Kroger Store, that obeys the new Governor's order. I also have the option to buy it online from Amazon, so I will boycott any store that forces me to wear a mask when I am vaccinated. I got vaccinated because I want to put this COVID thing in the past, not hang onto it. Today I had a very unpleasant experience with an employee named Ben. Ordinarily I go to another location in shoreline, but I was in the area today and noticed my check engine light was on so I stopped in to have them check the computer on my vehicle with their OBD reader. I had recently changed my own oil so I asked the him if they could please reset the code on my car so it would stop telling me to "change oil soon". But Ben was having a power trip and told me that "they don't do that". So I ended up needing to drive all the way to shoreline to have them take care of me. THE LAST TIME I WILL GO TO THE GREENWOOD LOCATION. He was very rude and made me definitely never want to come back. read more

I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts with a simple request. My "check engine light" came on and tthey advertise free engines light testing. With only one customer in the store I figured it would be quick and simple. Unfortunately that was not the case. I spoke to the woman at the front desk who seems to be OK with doing the test when the guy in the back looking for parts for the other customer yelled out, "no we can't do that right now we don't have time." They only had one other customer in the store and an empty parking lot with 2 employees and they don't have time? I left and I will never go back! Ok now this takes the cake! As I sit in the parking lot writing this review the same guy comes out and tests a car that just pulled up! When I asked him why he told me he didn't have time for my vehicle he says time is linear and that he didn't have time 2 minutes ago so "deal with it!" Bizarre accusations, broken promises, rudeness, no accountability. I ordered a caliper from O'Reilly's Ketchikan, Alaska store. They forgot to put the destination on it and had to call me back later. After I received it one of the slider pins behaved like it was cross threaded. I called them for help and got a person who agreed with my assessment. He was also was argumentative, rude, and bizarrely accused me of putting it on the truck and breaking off bolts. He did say that they would cover return freight. I talked to the manager and sent the caliper back. Later the manager claimed that there was nothing wrong with it and wouldn't reimburse any of the freight. They had torqued the slider pin bolts and resold the caliper. The manager told me that if the bolt was cross-threaded then it wouldn't have torqued. From experience and everything I've read this is wrong. The bolt will appear to torque, but will not have proper holding power. I contacted O'Reilly's company service and they were dismissive. They offered to have the regional manager call me. He never called. read more

i was across the street from this location, when work truck wouldn't crank over. I called this place and spoke to a guy named William L. I told him my situation and was very helpful. I let him know I'll walk over in 5 minutes. Once I arrived the assistant manager wanted me to give my credit card or whatever as collateral. I was like hey man I am across the street.I just need a jump-start. His Assistant Manager was slightly hesitant which I understand. But had William accompanied me to used the battery booster. Which the work truck was about to start right up. That man is a beacon on what customers service. read more

Travis at the 104th and Aurora store really helped me with a headlight. I needed one replaced and my car makes it a pain to change it. The last one I had done was changed by a repair shop for $170, and this one was $20 for the bulb. Travis very helpfully put the bulb in for me and I'm grateful - he definitely went above and beyond. I cannot say enough good about OREILLY AUTO PARTs in Fairwood, in Rento,n Washington. The manager, Bob, and assistant Francis, were extremely kind and helpful finding the correct bulb I needed for the map light in my older Corolla. It was a challenge to find the correct bulb, but they stuck with it and tried 3 types. finally getting the one that worked. They both came out to my car and helped by providing a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the cover panel which was also a bit of a challenge. It was tricky removing the old bulb and getting the new one inserted but they succeeded. ***** 5/5 STARS for Great Customer Service and Thank YOU! read more

I purchased a headlight here recently, and it's kind of hard to install it, so I asked the cashier for help. He looked like he'd rather do anything (and I mean anything) besides helping me, but he reluctantly came out! Then he damaged something that he shouldn't have bent and complained and grumbled before telling me there was no way he could do it and that I should watch a YouTube video tutorial! I drove my car down the road, went to Auto Zone, and bought another light from them in the hopes that they would help me. A kind young man there came out and spent 10 minutes standing in the rain in a determined manner, trying to get it in. He successfully installed the light! I was so grateful! What great customer service! Bottom line: If you need help installing your headlight, drive an extra 3 minutes to Auto Zone. Don't go here. Sure, it's an extra perk/customer service thing that not everyone needs, but it mattered to me. read more

My engine oil light came on and I needed to go somewhere to pick up some oil in between my scheduled oil change (ok so I waited a little longer than I was supposed to). Anyway, O'Reilly, was the closest, so I stopped in. I googled what oil I needed prior to going in, just so that I could look like I knew what I was talking about. But the guy at the counter was able to tell me what I needed, too. So he takes me to where all he oils are and suggested the house brand since I'm gonna get my oil changed soon. But I asked for his honest opinion and he said Mobil 1 is the best choice, so I take it. He rings me up and opens the hood of my car, shows me where the engine dipstick is and shows me what I should be looking for. He fills it and shows me where the oil is in terms of the dipstick and puts a bit more in. Then he even looked to see if my other fluids were ok. Which was super nice. All in all, I would definitely come back. read more

Good selection, TERRIBLE SERVICE. Do yourself a favor and travel a few extra minutes north to the location at 14320 Aurora Ave N instead. For context: A little after 2PM today, I visited the 10409 Aurora Ave N O'Reilly, excited to surprise my husband with a really thorough interior/exterior car wash since he so rarely has time to get his car detailed. I arrived, empty canvas reusable shopping bag in hand (a common sight since WA stores now have to charge for bags), and headed right to the car wash supplies. They have a robust selection, I'm not sure what to get, and no member of staff has asked if I need assistance, so I start looking up reviews on my phone. I'm there for quite a while, during which time I select a couple of items and put them into my bag so I can keep my hands free and keep looking at reviews. I never leave the car wash aisle. Suddenly I hear a voice next to me. Is a member of staff finally coming over to ask if I need help, since I've been here so long, obviously overwhelmed by their selection? Sadly, no. Instead, I'm met by a tall, broad man with wispy facial hair who tells me to take the products out of my bag and leave. I ask what the problem is, and he makes it clear that he's decided I'm a shoplifter. He repeatedly tells me to take the products out of my bag, leave, and never come back. I try to explain myself and apologize for the misunderstanding. I offer to pay for the items in my bag immediately and use one of their baskets for the rest of my shopping instead of my bag. (I'd overlooked them on my way in, and honestly tend to avoid them these days since, with Covid around, touching public surfaces more than necessary feels unwise). He refuses, insists that I'm not allowed to pay for the items, and that I'm not allowed to come back. I've worked many years in retail -- I've caught my share of legitimate shoplifters and been in my share of misunderstandings. And this store associate's lack of consideration and compassion were truly disappointing. I WANTED to give his location my money. I was ready to do so right that minute, to prove my honest intentions. And if, when I'd entered the store or at any point while I'd been shopping, a staff member had told me, "please be sure to use one of our baskets instead of your shopping bag," I gladly would have done so. Instead, I left the store dismayed and drove a few minutes north, to the 14320 Aurora Ave N location. There, I had a completely wonderful experience. The store associates greeted me with a smile, had no problem with me using my bag, and were incredibly kind and helpful. I told them about my experience at 10409 Aurora Ave N. They were very sympathetic and told me that they'd had a number of customers come to them recently from that location, complaining of rude service. So I guess my experience there might be the norm rather than the exception. I spent $45 at 14320 Aurora Ave N today, and they'll be getting ALL of my and my family's business from now on. According to the guy who kicked me out of the 10409 Aurora Ave N location, I'm never allowed back. But given my experience there, why on earth would I want to return? I'm gladly taking my business elsewhere. read more

February 7th I visited the 10409 Aurora Ave N. store. I asked the gentleman at the counter if he could help me identify a heater part for my car. After some research he asked the manager (Alex) if he could identify my heater part. Alex said it was a stereo part. I asked how a stereo part would be connected to the heater and he walked away. Employee #1 said he was going to ask another associate and went to the back counter. As I was waiting, I asked Alex if he could help me with a hose I needed. He said; "No, I am busy". After waiting several more minutes I told him I was in a hurry (I needed to take my mother to the doctor) and was wondering if he could help while his associate was working on the other part. He said no; the other employee would take care of everything. A few minutes later a customer came in and he promptly asked if he could help her. Without saying a word I walked to the back to get my part. He started yelling at me and I got my part. I told employee #1 that I was in a hurry and he said ok. Alex positioned himself within a few inches of me and said "I have to ask you to leave". I told him that I was leaving and he said you need to leave now. He went back to the new customer and I told him that he is not a very pleasant person. He said "We tried to help you". I visit this store regularly and have never experienced anything like this. I have never seen this manager before. I recommend patronizing the Ballard store while this man is managing the Aurora store. read more

My car battery died, and I was able to bump start the car and get to O'Reilly on Aurora and Northgate Way. (Another great reason to own a manual transmission.) The staff was very helpful explaining the offerings that matched my car. I fully expected to just walk out with the battery, possibly convincing them to loan me the tools to replace it myself, but that's not what happened. Hey, how hard is it to replace a battery anyway, right? Alex, the manager, took the time to hook up an external charger (so the computer doesn't reset), take out the old battery, clean the terminals on the cables and new battery, apply anti-corrosion gel, and hook it up. He then ran a quick diagnostic to see if there were any unintended draws when the car was off, and if it was properly charging when on. All this for the cost of the battery and the gel. Superb service. I would not have done all the (highly advisable) "extra" steps that Alex took, and I certainly didn't expect it. read more

Had a headlight out and went in to purchase one. I had looked on youtube about how to replace it and wasn't particularly looking forward to doing (or trying to) it. I also got a rear window wiper. I wish I remember his name but the guy who rung me up volunteered to go out and "show" me how to do it..In reality I watched him, happy and friendly 5 minutes he has it changed, by the time I unlocked the car to turn on the headlights to check, he had replaced the rear window wiper. This place is awesome and I'm sorry others haven't had the service I got, but I'll be back for any more car needs. read more

Called ahead to insure that they had the correct bulbs for my headlights. They looked up and held what I thought would be the correct bulbs, however it took me 5 mins to realize that they were wrong even though they have a screen in front of them literally telling them what bulb to get. read more

The staff here say hello when I first hit the door, ask questions about my projects, make helpful, welcome suggestions, offer to call around for parts they don't have--even at closing time, tell me where to find my part if they don't have what I'm looking for, and are well worth the effort it takes for me to drive out of my way to get to there. And I do drive out of my way because the O'Reilly's closest to my house is at 143th & Aurora, but they are so unhelpful and rude that I started going out of my way to avoid them--and thank heavens, because if they'd been nice, I wouldn't have found my favorite auto parts store in Seattle--O'Reilly's Auto Parts at 10342 Aurora Ave N! To start, i've spent thousands of dollars at Schucks in my life fixing up many award winning show cars and loving the convenience of their many locations. Now i don't want to write a novel so I'll give an outline of the events. - Took in my bosse's work truck battery to get it tested and charged, they say "pick it up tomorrow" - Came in next day, "are you here to pick up the little honda battery?" I reply "no, i dropped off a big marine deep cycle battery." - he precedes to look around the store and cant find it, asks other people, they cant find it, he talks to the manager in the office who said "it tested bad, you need a new battery" - I let them know that I cannot leave without my battery, im not telling my new boss his battery mysteriously disappeared but to trust me that it was bad. - They say they can give me a different bad battery so i dont go empty handed. I let them know that this is not the point, i have no proof my battery was bad at all. - They make some calls and say it got accidently put with the core batteries to be recycled but they will call the truck its on and have it for me the next day....ok.... - The next day i come in to a totally different staff who hands me a different but similiar looking battery that is also dead, i inform them that this is not my battery but the manager wasnt there so I took it and would come back tomorrow. - Just to see, i brought this battery back to the work truck and the screwpost terminals were different sizes anyways and it wouldn't even fit on the truck. - I come back in and talk to the manager who was the guy who "charged" my battery in the first place and then I inform him that, "this is not the battery i brought in". He starts to argue and tell me "It is the battery you brought in. You filled out this sticker with your name on it and then we took it back there, your name is Paul." I reply "no, my name is Jeremy and this battery doesnt even fit, it's 4 years newer and much cleaner, doesn't have the stripe my company paints on our batteries, and doesnt have the right terminals so it doesnt even fit in the truck." His response is "No, this is your battery". - We go onto argue about my name and this battery that magically changes age, size, posts and terminals when i handed it to them and he finally says "Ok take a battery and get out of my store". It was hands down the WORST shopping experience i have EVER had in my entire life. I'm contacting corperate about this, the manager of all people should NOT act like that. His name starts with a J and is in his 50s with grey hair and facial hair. Beware of this store. read more

Wow. If your looking for an argument against the $15 an hour minimum wage, look no further. I've never been surrounded by so many stupid people. Went to buy a starter for my car, the guy who helped me didn't know his elbow from his a hole. He was either a recovering meth addict or still on it, so tweeked out of his mind that after he finally found the part that I needed he couldn't keep himself together to figure out how to ring me up so he had to pass it off to another stupid employee. I had a prepaid $100 visa debit card from Direct TV and was putting the balance on my credit card. Stupid #2 couldn't figure out how to run both the cards, then tried to explain it to me and show me his computer screen like I was going to see that it couldn't be done. I manage a small business and run multiple credit cards all the time so I told him I didn't need to see his computer screen as he was the employee and should know how to use it. Finally a girl employee ran the cards and I was finally able to pay and get out of there. 25 minutes of my life standing in front of stupid people when it would have taken a competent person 5 minutes to complete my transaction. Morons. Then since I didn't have the starter core I had to go back there a week later to turn in the core and get refunded the $25 core charge. Guess who was there, stupid #2 who told me he couldn't refund me because my credit card that I put the balance on wasn't the right card. I wanted to scream at his stupidity but I told him that I used a prepaid card and my credit card and then a second later it magically went through. Awful. This was after I literally stood in line for 10 minutes because the employee couldn't find a guys wiper fluid he put on hold. So disorganized. Anyways, if you can get car parts somewhere else, do it. If not then welcome to the 103rd street Oreilly Auto Parts where they hire the mentally deficient. read more

Car battery died. Was able to check and get a quote from them on the phone. They carry Motocraft batteries which is the official Ford selection. Price was high end at $184 w/taxes. 3 year warranty and prorated up to 100 months?! Will have to cash in on that later! Also was able to borrow their tools to exchange out my battery. Didn't quite have the right fittings but was able to get a wrench to get the job done. Folks friendly and stayed a few minutes after hours for me to finish. Stars for quicks phone service, some tools to work with, carrying manufactures batteries and employees who stayed longer. read more
