I hate to deduct a star but based on our most recent visit, the quality of the sashimi we received was not the quality that we had previously enjoyed. We went early in the week and there were very few patrons, thus no pressure on the chef, which is no excuse in any case. The fish was simply of a lower quality. We will try again to see if this was a bad night or a sign of a problem. read more

O Sushi? O NO! My wife and I have been on a mission to try new sushi places that we haven't been before. The reviews for this place seemed promising. We were deceived. We ordered 6 different rolls, and all but one had no flavor. The caterpillar roll had flavor, but it wasn't the good kind. The jalapeño poppers caught my attention when we were searching earlier, and it was a huge disappointment. Jalapeño poppers at a sushi place, go figure. I'll take the "L" for that. I'm in the parking lot right now writing this review to caution those who may be searching just like us. I'm thinking about forcing myself to throw up and head to Azian. My wife says I should stick to what I know but says that I don't listen to her, or something like that. read more

I've now been to 3 sushi restaurants in town and O Sushi is the best one hands down. Their rolls are a good size, they have more roll options, and their happy hour is a pretty good deal! I went with a friend and we got 4 specialty rolls, soup and steamed edamame (both come with the meal) and hot tea for $20/person. I recommend their dragon roll and ya ya roll. So good! read more

All of their prices online are wrong. Everything was at least $2-$4 more expensive. When we called in an order, they never gave us a price total or an estimate. We anticipated our food costing around $45 according to the online menu (on their website and on Facebook), and it came out to around $65. I know that COVID has disrupted the supply chain. But, for heavens sake, update the prices on your website/yelp so that you are not unintentionally falsely advertising the wrong prices. When we tried to explain the issue to the employee on the phone, she never allowed us to explain the problem and kept talking over us. We finally hung up because it was futile. She wasn't listening. If you order takeout, be sure you ask exactly how much it will cost. read more

Found this place on a whim and it just happened to be close by. First of all, they have happy hour on the weekends, which includes great specials on some of the specialty rolls as well as drinks. I got 2 rolls that came with 10 pieces each (yes, really!) for about $12. It was plenty more food than I was expecting and they were fresh. I went in to pick up the order as take out when they reopened at 4:30pm and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and gave me enough time to sift through the extensive menu. I will definitely be going back to dine in and try some more of their rolls. See my picture of the crazy boy and spicy salmon roll. I would have given 5 stars but I wasn't a huge fan of the salmon in the spicy salmon rolls being in kind of large chunks. I personally like when it is finely minced, but that's just me! I'm giving 1 star because the sushi was mediocre and the service was beyond dreadful. Not only were they not busy, they completely forgot part of my order. Not only did they forget part of my order--the order I was actually excited for-- they still tried to charge me for it. They took forever to bring the sushi, and when it arrived they didn't give me any chopsticks and I had to wait another 2-3 mins for them. I'll never eat here again. read more

I have been here a few times now. It seems like I always swing in here when I am in a hurry (e.g. on my way to the movie). This time I set at the sushi bar. I ordered a couple of the tuna hand rolls (these are my favorite) and one more traditional Philadelphia roll. The rolls are very well done. They don't load up the hand rolls up with lots of rice (obviously there is some). They even asked if I wanted vegetables in my rolls. It never seems to busy and they staff seems to keep on top. I need to go back when I am not as big of a hurry. In the past I have ordered off of the menu too. The chicken was nicely done and not overcooked or dry. read more

Stopped in here for lunch when we were in town for the day. I had the sushi and chicken teriyaki lunch, and my daughter had the chirashi, which is one of her favorite dishes.My nigiri was fresh and the chicken teriyaki was flavored with the right amount of soy sauce, sugar, and the other miscellaneous ingredients that go into making a good teriyaki sauce. I didn't get a chance to try her chirashi, but she said it was really good. You'd be amazed at the sports memorabilia on the walls. Owner must be a real sports fan. When we go to Tucson again, we'd like to return and even try out their dinner menu. read more

I am rating them on the fish. This restaurant sells its sashimi differently from the others: there is no combo; you simply mark what sashimi you want, and you get 4 pieces of that fish for the price (about $6.95). It works out to about the same price. Pieces are good sized. I don't normally order rolls, but they had some that sounded very tempting. I got the Ya Ya Roll. It tasted good, and some would find it spicy, but I would prefer a lot more heat. The chef said that next time I am able to order extra jalapeno and cilantro on the side. @Nora H: I know what you're talking about regarding the red tint additive. I did not notice any today, but will keep an eye out for that. read more

Great happy hour prices! I'm surprised it wasn't busier! We had the combination dinners with tempura and sashimi and another with chicken teriyaki and sushi. Both were great! Also had the agedashi tofu appetizer, which was simple but good. My boyfriend had the happy hour sake bomb and I had the plum wine (a little stronger than expected hah). Can't wait to go back! read more

I was looking forward to this place based on reviews, but my experience was very average. First, the restaurant was pretty empty (Thursday at 7:45p). The decor was confusing because it was all baseball - jerseys, posters, photos everywhere. The waitress was nonchalant, so I didn't really feel warmly welcomed. The sashimi were quite large. I got 9 pieces for $13.50. The knife work could have been better overall on both the sashimi and rolls. The rolls are creative, not the most traditional though. I'd be willing to give this place another shot, but I felt it wasn't as authentic as other places like my favorite, Sushi on Oracle. read more

I really liked this place! Service was phenomenal and I got complimentary miso soup, edamame and pickled cucumber salad. I ordered rock and roll maki, which was a shrimp tempura roll with tuna inside, Ikura (salmon eggs), and an orange roll which was a California roll topped wth massago. I really enjoyed the orange roll because the mayo wasn't overwhelming like it can be in some California rolls. Also, while I was waiting for my food, the sushi chef came over and gave me three complimentary slices of a roll to try. I will definitely be coming back. read more

To be honest I am a bit surprised by the reviews on this page because my experience was not as amazing as most seem to say. The place itself is very cute and the employees all very kind. They were attentive to our needs. However, the food itself was sub-par. The fish did not seem like the best quality to me and the cuts were unsatisfactory. The sashimi was cut into really thick slices which, unfortunately, is a turn off when it comes to this delicate food. The rolls were also cut into large segments which, again, is a turn off. I couldn't get over this and the slight fishy taste to it all. I was disappointed by O Sushi, which is very unfortunate. I saw the great ratings here on Yelp and expected more than what I got. I highly doubt I will return but if I do, I hope my experience is just as great as others seem to claim. read more

My personal favorite Sushi spot in Tucson. The KINDEST people, who always provided excellent service and DELICIOUS sushi everytime me and my wife visited. Service is fast, and friendly. Always with a smile on their face and kind words. The sushi is affordable, and in generous portions. Facility is clean, as well as the restrooms. A GEM of a place. This used to be Bushi Sushi, which was a great under-recognized gem in town. Fairly central location and a nice Japanese menu with a few nice Korean dishes as well. We frequented it often. Now it's under new ownership, and despite how some of those transitions go, they did very well! The menu kept most of the favored dishes, and they maintain the tradition of generous sushi for reasonable prices, and I'm especially happy they kept my favorite dish; Hoi du Bap! which is a korean sashimi on a bowl of salad type dish, with this great spicy fruity red sauce. Love this low-carb wonder. SOOOO tasty! Better than anywhere else in town. And they did a nice job remodeling the place too. It's a definite favorite of ours, and will be one of yours as well! read more

The sushi is fresh- always. The food is consistently great. The service is personable and attentive. My family has gone 3-4 times a month for over 7 years. We celebrate milestones here and introduce the restaurant to all our friends. It is also the place for non-sushi eaters as everything on the menu is exceptional. My daughter loves everything salmon. I love the gyoza, tempura, sizzling platters, and all the noodle variations. If you go ask for the Eva Mae roll- it will not disappoint!! read more

I went here for lunch today with my dad. I am a sushi fan and he is a sashimi fan so we got to try both! The service was fast, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable for what you get. The atmosphere was fun and has a lot to look at, a lot of sports memorabilia which was interesting and different. It's also close to my job so that is a huge bonus. I will be back next time I am craving a sushi roll. read more

The baked scallop was amazing, especially because I had it in Baltimore and have not found another place that makes it until now!! Stopped in today after golf and even though the owner Jun didn't serve me for the 1st time, I had 3 delicious dishes that hit the spot; Spicy scallops, Unagi and Spicy Yellowtail - YUM! With the additional setup, miso soup and edamame which are all free, it's the perfect lunch without leaving totally bloated and very reasonable. Been coming here through 3 ownerships and it's still my go to sushi within a reasonable drive. Gotta remember to "check-in" more often as my phone doesn't remind me on all the platforms today. Pardon my high rating, but I only go to the places I know I'll love, but occasionally try out a new recommendation when they come to me. read more

The service at this restaurant is absolutely terrific: the seating was immediate, the servers are very friendly, the food is finished very quickly after being ordered, and the restaurant is very clean and very cute. In terms of sushi, however, the fish is just OK. The quality of the rolls was a little bit less than the price of the roll, but overall it still satisfied my sushi craving. If I came here again, I wouldn't be upset, but I would definitely explore my options before settling here. I stopped by O Sushi recently, and while a few things hit the mark, others missed it. The tempura vegetables were a bit disappointing -- somehow undercooked inside but over-fried on the outside, which made them tough to enjoy. This was disappointing because the vegetable tempura bento box was their special of the night. On the bright side, the miso soup and rice were spot on -- warm, flavorful, and comforting. We came near opening time on a Sunday as one of their first guests. We seated ourselves and ordered. Food: (3/5 overall) The food wasn't bad or expired or anything, it was just pretty mediocre. Especially with the disproportionate rice amount to fish, none of use were impressed. Best dishes: (1) quail eggs aka udama (4.5/5) Despite the limited quantity these still tasted the best with raw quail egg yolk with siracha, soy sauce, and vinegar. They were missing the garnish, but that's not a big deal. The flavor is just like nothing else. (2) Salmon nigiri: (4/5) Also despite the 8 limit, they were fresh and pretty good. Worst dishes: (1) flying fish roe: (1/5) These were loaded to the brim with rice with a little bit of fish eggs. The fish eggs weren't that good either. They were also sloppily made and fell apart easily. Most other dishes were pretty average, they just had a ton of rice compared to other ayce sushi restaurants I've been to. Service: (2/5) on our very first order, they claimed that they had "ran out" of quail eggs (Udama). We usually order a good amount of these (36 this time) because they are one of the best dishes and I haven't seen any other ayce sushi restaurants offer this. I wouldn't be surprised if they ran out later in the day, but I was shocked since we were some of their first customers. I thought this was just an odd excuse to avoid making food. Additionally, when we tried ordering the Ikura, they said it needed to be defrosted for 45 minutes first. I was surprised that they didn't have all of their food ready before opening, and that the Ikura needed to be defrosted first for that long. When they finally came out, the portions were pretty bad and loaded with rice. Also thought this was a bad excuse. Wait time for food was also pretty long. Ambiance: (3/5) Just an older restaurant with old pictures on the wall and a movie playing in the background. You can see the sushi chefs making sushi at the bar too. Overall a noticeable decline in service, quality, and overall experience. Maybe the team just had a bad day.

The female wait staff is handing out egg drop soup samples to everyone, ever those eating pizza and gyros. Looking around, these rolls are huge. We chose the Sonoran roll with shrimp tempora, spicy tuna, spicy crab topped with seared salmon and yuzu sauce. This roll was flavorful and spicy. Another roll was the Samurai with shrimp tempora, cream cheese, avacado wrapped in soy paper deep fried and covered with spicy crab / shrimp mix baked in a spicy aioli and eel sauce. This was our favorite roll with a pop in the tempora shrimp and an uncious taste coupled with a bite. Our third and final roll was the heart attack. Another spicy roll with shrimp tempora, avacado, cream cheese topped with jalepeno, spicy crab and chef sauce. Again, another good roll and a ton of food. This food mall is in an unassuming neighborhood with a smiling server who is hustling like crazy. The sushi was good, unique and tasty. It was a huge amount of food.
