Found this restaurant when I was looking for a new brunch place to have my yearly friends meetup. What a nice find! We got there at 9am on a Friday and only a handful of people, so no wait at all. It took us a minute to look at the huge variety of breakfast and lunch selections. We settled on a veg benny and the carb sampler. Despite not catching my eye from the exterior, once inside O2 Eatery it proved to be a pretty ideal breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Judging from the fact that almost every table was filled at 10:30 a.m. on a Thursday I may have been the last one to learn that. O2 Eatery is a spotless, nicely airy space with a breakfast/lunch menu that's served the entire time they're open. I liked knowing that I could get lunch food when it was still morning and vice versa. I also liked seeing that the menu sported two omelet offerings when some spots have opted to strike all omelets from their menu. So, of course I ordered an omelet as did the friend I was with. We both ordered the meat-free option which contained spinach, cheese, and tomatoes amongst other things but - SIGALERT - we were both served the omelet containing meat (bacon). Catastrophic isn't the word I'd use for my consumption of a piece of bacon before realizing I'd been improperly served, but for someone who is actually vegetarian or allergic, it certainly could be. A server was flagged down and the orders replaced, no hassle. But this brings me to one more observation: the servers here are very nice but they seem a little lackadaisical. One of us ordered coffee at the same time as the omelets and it still hadn't been served by the time the entrees first arrived (a second request was made). And when we alerted our server to the order mix-up she said "I thought they looked..." (the implication being: not correct). They do nothing to turn the tables here and we were welcome to stay as long as we wished and I did appreciate that, so it all balanced out. Tables were cleaned promptly and, as mentioned, the place is immaculate. So some spaciness on the servers part is pretty easy to overlook. I'd be happy to return here for a meal, even with all of the competition on this street. read more

In what used to be Delirama spot (I missed them), another family owned and operated restaurant has taken over, with the same mojo of delicious food and great customer service. We each had something different: steak and eggs, California omelette, Bacon Benny, and the croffle. Yum, Yum, Yum! What surprised us the most, the breakfast potatoes were just the right crisp on the outside, soft in the inside, and flavorful with a buttery garlic chimichurri topper. We are a fan! This spot opened up where Delirama was and the ambiance and decor are super cute and cozy. They are very baby friendly with plenty of space for stroller. The coffees came in cute glass mugs and a small measuring cup of cream. The stirring spoons are also very cute! We love that the menu is not overwhelming but has a good variety. Everything we've had here was delicious! We like getting the carb sampler with French toast, waffle and cruffle. Browsed reviews when around the area and decided to give this place a try for breakfast on a Friday morning. Got lucky for free parking at a nearby residential area. Looks very clean and neat when first walked in, and we were sat promptly. Menu was easy enough to navigate. Son went with steak and egg, and I opted for Smoke Salmon Benny. Coffee has special sugar, cute spoon and cream container. I could tell the owner and chef put a lot of personal touch into their food and atmosphere of the restaurant. A true Bay Area supporter. The owner made an exception and allowed me to dine in. It was just me on a solo act. I don't know what restaurant was here before because this is not a part of Berkeley that I travel to. I am from out of town - Alameda. I don't drive. Then it doesn't hurt to be a little adventurous on a nice day, and just enjoy the stroll and lunch. O2 Eatery opened about a month ago. It is a small family business. Not only were they accommodating, but also attentive, gracious and kind. They did not turn me away. My dining experience was wonderful. Excellent service. Specialties: breakfast, salad, sandwiches, burgers, Boba beverages, teas, milk teas. Items that were brought out by the employees for other restaurant patrons sure looked delicious and the portions were generous. Eats: ABC panini with French fries for an ABC lady. Avocado, bacon and chicken, swiss cheese and a pesto spread on a grilled panini bread for an American born Chinese lady. LOL. Cost (including tax) was $19.85. French fries were crispy and greaseless. Good value. Great lunch! Seating capacity for indoor dining: Guesstimate is about 50 people. Street parking is available. Public transportation (AC Transit) is within walking distance. Return visit: yes! I don't drive, but Lyft and public transportation are good options to get to O2 Eatery. I left out of there, grinning from ear to ear. read more

Went up to Berkeley to visit friends on a warm summer day and decided to come here for brunch. One thing I forgot about Berkeley is that most of the restaurants don't have A/C so when the weather gets warmer the whole place heats up. That on top of slow service really took away from the experience. By the time the food came I was starving so on the plus side that meant that the food was delicious. I had the salmon bento which was slightly underflavored in my opinion, the salad could have definitely used more dressing and the salmon more teriyaki sauce considering all the rice it came with but overall not bad. I get along with breakfast like nobody's business, it's my favorite food ever, period. So I'm going to be paying more than the usual attention when I have breakfast somewhere. We were more than ready when friends said let's go to O2 Eatery. Overall it was a very good decision. Parking can always be a challenge on Solano but we "lucked" out this time vs driving all around or a long walk. The ambience inside was spacious enough to not feel cramped and noise levels allowed for easy conversation. The meals came reasonably quickly enough considering they were pretty busy. And the food quality/taste made for smiles and thoughts of afternoon naps in all four of us. We'll be back to O2 when we feel up to a jaunt to Solano Ave again. read more

We were in the neighborhood dropping off donations and wanted to try something new. We found O2 Eatery on Yelp and decided to try it, and yes, we are so happy that we did! When we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly face that gave us the option to choose the table that worked best for us. Looking around, the decor is pretty cool. There is a wall with faux black crocodile skin that makes the screen pop against it. There is another wall with a biophillic backdrop and a neon sign that is really cool to look at. The entire restaurant is really clean, and the hanitizer is available at the front door when you walk in. We ordered the carb sampler, which had French toast, waffles, and a croffle. I ordered the chicken and waffles. I need to order the chicken and waffles again! The chicken was juicy even though it was white meat. The crispy coating on the chicken was light and not greasy. The only thing that would make it better would be to add Frank's Red Hot sauce. For the carb sampler, my partner was in LOVE with the croffle. He said that it was so buttery, and you could still detect the many layers of croissants that were artfully flaky. He also ordered the oat milk latte and said that he must order that again! The quality of the food and the presentation of it is above average. The ambiance is very mellow and designed well. Long term residents of the area but first time eating here. We had to wait (Monday holiday at 11am so very understandable). Staff was very busy but also very friendly. The place is very comfortable. We sat at the bar and so had a chance to chat with owner and family. The food was....... amazing. A cut above with a variety of things to choose from. While you don't expect much when there is "ramen" on a menu this varied, it totally passed the "ramen expert" adult kid test. I snuck a taste of the dashi and indeed it was yummy. I ordered the Chicken and waffles and , well, I have had none better. Got the 411 and sunday at 8am is the no wait time. Don't know if we will make it that early but we will be back for sure. The crispy chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside -really good. The waffles were crisp and light. I wasn't really impressed by the croffles, though. And they did t give us any utensils, even after bringing the food out. Ask for your bill early or expect to wait more for the check!
