We ate here tonight. First class restaurant and the menu was upperclass. Enjoyed our food and service was great. Will definitely go back.

I drove 45 minutes to try this out with a reservation, but they were closed due to a kitchen problem. I would have appreciated a phone call.

What a place!! Great food/ great staff. We started with Hawaiian street tacos , pork was super tender abs you could tell it was fresh and not canned pineapple, next we had their bruschetta with their own heirloom tomatoes, perfect amount of garlic. We split their chopped steak- they get their beef from a local company. Cuts of ribeye, filet, porterhouse that they grind and put together one of the tastiest dishes I've had in a long time. Yukon gold mashed potatoes. Comfort food in the summer! We will be coming back! read more

We went to oak and barrel after a brief glance at their menu. This place was great. We had the salmon and the filet mignon. Both were excellent with the filet being absolutely the best. The staff were great, timely, and helpful. We have eaten at a lot of local restaurants in Monticello, and this one takes the cake. Food, drink, desserts, all were excellent. We rode our Ultra Classic up from Noblesville because we had heard such good things. My wife and I shared a full slab of ribs - they were so moist and slid right off the bones, the mac & cheese was creamy and had a fantastic flavor and the steak fries had a nice garlic kick. We were stuffed enough we had to pass on the awesome deserts (but not next time!). This will be a regular ride destination from now on! Give it a try... you won't be disappointed. read more

We stopped at this restaurant a few days ago, we ordered Alaskan Halibut with coleslaw and fries, the dish looked interesting and could get a reward but only for the appearance, very small piece of fish, the salad had nothing to do with the coleslaw, I had a feeling that this day on duty there was an interior decorator instead of a cook. We had the Won Ton and egg roll appetizers and they were so delicious! The garnish under the won ton was a kale salad and the egg rolls were on top of a kind of cabbage slaw, they were both awesome. My wife had the salmon and I had the brisket. My brisket was so tender and it was set on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes ..... outstanding!!! You can't go wrong here. Our little waitress worked her tail off for us and we tipped her accordingly. read more

Horrible experience. Had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes before our food was served. Appetizers were brought out the same time food was. We had to ask the server multiple times for our first drinks. We also had reservations for the seats and high chairs, asked multiple times for high chairs. They were never brought. Absolute worst service. We will never go back to that establishment. read more

My husband and I have eaten here 3 times since the restaurant opened in February, 2021. Each time we had delicious meals. When they first opened it was crowded, and as a new restaurant they were still working out issues, but their staff was friendly and helpful in spite of their stressful situation. We will continue patronizing this restaurant- love their menu from the appetizers to their main entrees to their desserts! I love the beef stroganoff-- pasta is fresh-made too! read more

I know it is early but I believe I need to post, possibly to help the establishment. We got seated very quickly even though it was busy. We were give menus and the waitress left. 15 minutes later she came for our drink order, 10 minutes later notified us that the bar is very busy, 10 minutes later repeated the bar very busy message, 10 minutes later the drinks arrived. At that time we ordered as well. I ordered the Pork Belly app and a bowl of loaded baked potato soup, soup was ok, nothing to write home about, the pork belly was dominated by the sesame drizzle which is all I could taste. My wife ordered the prime rib sandwich medium rare, it showed up well done. Sliced so thin you couldn't pull off medium rare. Overall, not the experience we were looking for, especially at those prices. We will try again, once they get their feet underneath them. read more
