Although, it is disappointing though when they do not have a menu, and you have to eyeball what you want(minus 1 star). The place has a southern menu. My wife ordered the grits, and I had the chili and jambalaya. All of it was very good. The servings are a good size so we had leftovers. Fortunately for us we discovered the Oak at The Glen while browsing Yelp for New Years Eve dinner ideas. What a gem! Turns out they opened about 2 years ago so right before Covid shut everything down. They survived and now I know why. Great food, drink and atmosphere. I had the hangover burger with the over-easy egg on it and it was fantastic. My wife had the Friday Fish fry and said it was one of the best she's ever had. Best burger I have ever had. Amazing - the Oak signature burger - mix of USDA beef, brisket and short ribs - plus bacon cheese and a tangy sauce. Dinner ordered for take out on Friday night. Staff is very friendly and efficient. I enjoyed it but perhaps the one big criticism I have is the high salt content. It really reduces the enjoyment of the flavors - I ordered the jambalaya & shrimp and grits. Both were overly salted. Needed to make my some plain rice to "dilute" out the salt content. My second time at The Oak - thinking the clientele was favorable so that I could bring along my 2 young grandsons. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant and all of a sudden, a belligerent couple were fighting and yelling in a very aggressive manner. The staff tried to contain them and escort them out the rear door. We were seated right by the action. I was scared thinking an innocent by-stander / staff would be harmed. I was also frightened for the safety of my grandsons. The waitress/server seemed very un-phased by the incident - since she explained that the guy delivers flowers to them regularly. Not withstanding the fact that two very young innocents were witnessing this. In the midst of all this, my dinner was not prepared as requested. I told that same waitress that I could not eat this as prepared and told her to remove the item from our bill - the events soured my appetite. Both my young grandsons were frightened again as they had to listen to her go off and yell at the cooks (which they heard clearly where they were seated) about preparing my dinner correctly. She came back to our table and my poor grandsons couldn't finish their meal - they were anxious and frightened. Seriously - after the events that occurred with the two patrons earlier, a manager should have come by to check on us and ensure we were OK (along with the other patrons near-by). I am not one for wanting anything complimentary but even without my meal added in, our bill (and yes, my husband tipped that waitress) came close to $90.00. For what? A frightened experience for all of us and not a favorable one for the precious time I spend with my grandsons. read more

Fist time out for dinner in a while. Service was great and ended up with a complimentary desert!! Dinner was great and I liked the menu - typical bar food for the most part. Had totchos for a starter and my wife and I loved it. We had the Louisville turkey sandwich and Nashville hot chicken sandwich for dinner- both were great. In a word, AMAZING! Absolutely everything about Oak at The Glen was on point. Rich Bono (owner) has an eye for unassuming style, with top-shelf spirits. His Old Fashion actually tastes like an Old Fashion should, which is rare these days. As for the food, the menu is robust with a number of excellent choices although I'll admit I was skeptical of the 'southern staple' offerings on the menu such as Hot Brown and Nashville Hot Chicken. Growing up in the south, I've enjoyed plenty of authentic southern dishes including the ones named above. Everyone in our group devoured the meal and celebrated with libations from the bar. I came here on a weekday in the afternoon after looking up good places to eat in The Glen. The Oak Branded Burger was good, meat was juicy, it had a bit of sweetness to it, i think there was a honey glaze to the bun. The aged cheddar was strong but not overpowering. We had dinner outside with friends. It's a lively place! The fried pickle sticks are a must! (Who invented this delicious confection? Did a pickle accidently drop into the fryer? Genius!) Finally!!!! A place in the Glen you want to keep coming back too! We've been here 3 times since it's opened and each time we've had amazing food. My favorites right now are the Nashville Hot Crispy Sandwich, which honestly doesn't even need to be between two buns - the fried chicken is that damn good.... but of course you have to eat it the way it was intended.... :) and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The second and third favorites are the 3- Alarm Burger and the Oak Cheeseburger. I'm a huge burger fan and both of these burgers were quit literally one of the best burgers I've had in a while. (Psst- order it medium and your guaranteed a juicy burger.) I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have Oak right down the street. Went here on a Saturday night at 6pm during the pandemic, they had several outside tables, service was good, had a few different waitresses, if you love southern food,such as shrimp and grits that you rarely see around here you must go here! Just went there for the first time the other day for lunch and sat outside. I had the blackened salmon salad which was delicious and very large. We decided to try the Oak for my husband's birthday. We arrived about 7 pm on a Monday night and most tables were full outside (some were close to finishing) where we preferred to eat. It was not busy inside the restaurant. The hostess seemed either overwhelmed or not friendly and she told us it would be a 10 minute wait. we were fine with this but then she told us it would be at least a 20 minute wait because they were understaffed and had to catch up on their tables. We understand that times are difficult, but we wonder how this restaurant would cope on a truly busy night. read more

Came here for burgers, and was very underwhelmed. The burgers were simply not good, and resembled a dense, dry hockey puck. The crinkle cut fries tasted like they came straight out of a freezer bag. Service was quick- no wait time on a Saturday night for 2. The 3 sliders and chicken wings were pretty good.
