Went to Oak at the Glen on a nice Friday night and we were seated right away on their outside patio. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the Hot Brown. Most restaurants serve cod with their fish and chips but Oak uses haddock. I find the haddock a sweeter, milder fish and Oak's version was one of the best I have tried. The food wasn't great but the service was really bad. The wait staff stood around talking to each other and seemed to want to hurry guests out. It was not enjoyable at all. The water glass had lipstick on it. No replacement water was delivered. Condiments were brought to table after we were almost finished with our meal. I do not like to give one star, however one thing I really dislike about a business is if you contact them multiple times and receive no response. It's like why have a phone number and contact form for events if you do not plan to respond? I called three times and left very detailed messages and also sent in two of those contact us forms inquiring about a half or full buy out for a corporate event. The least they could have done is give me a call back and say hey we aren't available these days. It's unprofessional and honestly unacceptable. I don't understand all the rave reviews. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Service was great but the food was so mediocre I should have stayed home and cooked. I had the risotto and beef. The most expensive item on their menu. The meat was so tough I thought it was reheated pot roast, the risotto had too much liquid in it and my bread pudding had absolutely no taste except the ice cream. We came here to eat dinner this evening, because we had been shopping at nearby Abt, and it was time to fill our pieholes. Fantastic choice! We will be back, regardless of shopping at Abt (which we do a lot and love, btw!). Food was delish! I'm hooked on braised shortribs and Hubs ordered the Bourbon BBQ Burger. Both were perfect! I had one outdoor meal here over the summer and I did not write a review because I don't usually write reviews from one visit. We ordered in from the Oak recently so I feel I can now give a review. We had the blackened salmon salad, a turkey burger, and a fried chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious, although the salmon was slightly overcooked. We felt that the salad was a bit skimpy for the price but it was still delicious. The turkey burger was outstanding, juicy and flavorful, well seasoned. Turkey burgers can be tricky to do, they are sometimes super dry and flavorless. Not the case with this one. Very tasty, everyone enjoyed it. Chicken sandwich was also delicious, not one bite left at the end. My husband's only gripe was he didn't like the amount of cheese they put on it but he doesn't really like cheese on his chicken. He said next time he'll just order it without cheese. The fries that came with both the sandwiches were tasty. We kind of wish that we had been able to substitute more than just a side salad as a lot of their sides looked really interesting. We would've been happy to pay a little extra to be able to substitute one of the other sides. All in all, delicious and tasty and we will be ordering from them again. read more

Wonderful Burgers, cute barrel motif to the revolving doors. And a manager that knows what they are doing, how to handle an issue in a friendly and balanced manner. We had an issue with our bill and how the server explained an additional charge vs an upcharge. Wasn't explained well when ordering so bill did not match expectations. I failed the first time to do a review for Oak at the Glen, but that could be because my husband and I only had drinks on our first visit last month. This time, we came for dinner and we were not disappointed. The food and service here are top notch. Our server Arianna, was the best, she was so friendly and helpful with answering our questions. We ordered the wedge salad and shared a Nashville hot chicken sandwich with the tater tots for a side. Arianna offered to have it cut in half for us. The food was really good and nicely prepared. We had just one little item for feedback about the chicken sandwich. It just wasn't spicy as expected for Nashville Hot although it was fresh and very crispy. Believe me, my husband and I ate it all but we did call Arianna over to give feedback, we also talked to the manager who was so kind and gracious. We understand that dishes have to be adjusted for the clientele but the manager told us next time we come in, to just ask for the sandwich spicy. That's fair enough. She also comped my husband's beer and put in an order for the bread pudding which I think is made in-house. Our goal was not to get anything comped, we just wanted to give feedback, but she was so kind and ordered the bread pudding without our knowledge. So we were waiting for the bill when Arianna told us the bread pudding was coming out and I'm so glad it did. I think it's made in-house and it was so delicious and buttery, not too sweet, with the right amount of sauce. Overall, everything was really good and like I said, the service was the best.
