    Prosciutto wrapped scallops
    Madison E.

Seafood, pasta, fresh bread, Prosecco & a marg?! Sign us up. We opted for bread service and shrimp cocktail to start. The focaccia was outstanding - crunchy outside and fluffy inside with whipped butter - don't skip this. (5) Shrimp cocktail was good, would've loved cocktail sauce instead of the sauce they served. (I could've asked for it I'm sure, I just didn't.) (20) My prosciutto wrapped scallops atop roasted red pepper risotto was divine and as decadent as it sounds. The arugula on top added a fresh crunch and the beurre blanc sauce was light but creamy. I would absolutely get this again. (47) Julia got the salmon oscar featuring lump crab meat atop grilled salmon with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. She said it was delicious but could've used more asparagus and potatoes. (48) We both enjoyed every bite of our meal but thought the prices were on the higher side. We would absolutely return but maybe for a special occasion next time. Parking is no issue, our waitress was extremely kind and helpful. We had a reservation and it was pretty crowded for a weeknight so I don't think I'd brave it without one. We loved it here and will be back!

Came here for my birthday dinner. It's not very big so be sure to make a reservation. There's a bar where you can sit but it was pretty full. We were seated quickly and our drink orders were taken almost immediately lots of cocktails on the menu. We really liked our drinks. Our favorite was the Beach Chair. No specials the night we went but plenty on the menu. We got the bread service and the bread was delicious. For my main entree I got the red snapper which was on a bed of spinach and risotto. It was fantastic! Hubby ordered the filet Oscar which always makes me nervous because he's never happy with the cook on the steak at other restaurants. I'm happy to report that the cook was perfectly medium here. He was thrilled and it tasted delicious. He got the sweet potato medley as his side and the potatoes were so good. We did not stay for dessert because we were stuffed. We will be back for sure!

We came here with my mom for her birthday. This place was beautiful on the inside and it gives nice and cozy on the set up. The server was so amazing and my sis had her before. She gave great recommendations for the appetizers and drinks. I ordered the lavender lemon drop and it was so good. I also had the burger with truffles fried. Even though we were close to where the kitchen is, it wasn't loud either. This place is great if you want to meet with friends, date, or solo date.

Oak House is a restaurant we just found and throughly enjoyed it. The restaurant is not very big and is really centered around the large bar area. Tables work the exterior walls with some seating at the bar as well as outside. Service was amazing, the second we were sat our waitress arrived to go over the drink menu as pour us some water. Drinks were received fast and orders taken. The food was delicious between the lamb and the chicken. We were never felt like we had to look for our waitress. Well done Oak House

This place was all that and a piece of cake. The server was so nice and attentive and explained everything. The food was delicious; I plan for many trips back their way.

The Ambiance was 10s across the board. Our server was very nice. Drinks came quick and the Food was in a category of its own. I ordered the Oak House Pasta. It was so flavorful, well seasoned and the sauce was amazing!

On our before you die bucket list, well today we died. Growing up in Thunderbolt Ga. catching, cleaning and cooking fresh crab and ordering it from every restaurant from Baltimore to San Francisco the Gulf Coast and every place in between that offered it on the menu we would order it. Today we had the best of the best. Lump crab, sauce and topping that celebrated the crab. Thank you Chef Oliver and service from Tristan, a most enjoyable meal. Atmosphere upscale/local gathering place. Wine selection very good. Short Ribs cooked to perfection, fork tender and a wonderful horseradish sauce, served on Risotto with asparagus & carrots. Prosciutto wrapped Scallops on a delicious Red Pepper Risotto is a come back dish. This might be our new once a year special place, unless I get the cravings for crab.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and flavorful. I ordered the bronzed redfish and a lemon drop martini. Our waiter was attentive, answered our questions, and gave recommendations. We had reservations. The dining area and ambience are nice. I'll include pictures.

We had the best experience at Oak House last night! From the moment we sat down at a cozy table by the window, everything felt warm and inviting. The chairs were actually some of the most comfortable I've ever sat in at a restaurant, such a nice touch! We started with the bread service, which was outstanding. The focaccia bread was perfectly fresh, and the butter was rich and delicious. For starters, I had the Caesar salad.. hands down one of the best I've ever had. My husband ordered the wedge salad, and the dressing was next-level. It was some sort of vinaigrette that was so good we ended up dipping our bread in it once the salad was gone. For mains, I had the burger and fries, and I can honestly say it was the first burger I've ever had where the meat itself was so seasoned and flavorful it stood out beyond the toppings and sauce. The toppings and sauce were great, though! My husband ordered the ribeye with scalloped potatoes, and both were fantastic - perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We did try the mac & cheese as well. It wasn't our favorite.. it leaned a little watery compared to the rest of the dishes, but still had a nice taste overall. The drinks were also excellent. My husband had the "Marg-a-tini" which was refreshing and creative, and I had the Beach Chair (I think that was its name), a tropical, fruity cocktail that was super fun and delicious. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, and everything flowed smoothly all evening. Overall, Oak House is a 10/10 for us. Incredible food, excellent service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

We decided to come on a Friday night I did make reservations beforehand and I highly suggest making them especially on the weekend and you can make them online through their website. On this evening, they had Tyler Giddens playing his keyboard and singing along. He was very good and I was able to chat with his wife and she told me that he plays around town so I definitely look forward to hearing his music again. Fowler was our server and he was very attentive. We started off with the brussels sprouts and the pork belly nachos. They were both equally delicious. Last time I was here I got the chicken tacos and I was so impressed. I got them again. My son got the Mac burger, which he completely devoured. My brother got the short ribs which he enjoyed. He also got a to go Mac burger as well. This time instead of Mississippi mud pie I got the monkey bread which was very delicious and it had apples in it as well. I love how the staff gets to wear whatever they want, and they can express their style. I did visit the restrooms and they were very clean. The only negative is sometimes the parking lot is real busy and if it is, you kinda have to park across the street. It's not a far walk but a lot of the drivers at the Summit area. They tend to drive crazy. I will definitely be back. I haven't had a bad meal here since I've been coming. Not sure why, but it wouldn't let me post any more pictures.

Only took me two years but I finally had a chance to sample!…read more As much as I hated Macaroni Grill leaving, I was excited to hear that Culinary Dropout was going to be in Birmingham. Sharing a parking lot with PF Changs at the Summit, CD has ample parking and right at the corner of 280 and 459 so finding the place would not be a problem. It's actually in a great location at the Summit where you can have a nice meal, then head over to the AMC practically next door for a movie or go shopping at the shops at the Summit. Backed by James Beard-nominated restaurateur Sam Fox, CD now has 13 locations nationwide with this one opening back in March of 2024. Thus, the restaurant looks great with high vaulted ceilings, brick patterned walls and a clean contemporary look with booths and tables scattered throughout. There's a nice large bar that serves beer, wine and cocktails. Above the bar are large screen tvs and to the side is a small carved out area with a small stage for live entertainment. They can entertain group dining and with the tvs, bar and a stage, a nice gathering can be had for all. Outdoor covered seating is also available making a cool weather brunch outside a nice option. Their menu is diverse but comprehensive and include everything sandwiches and soups to pastas and burgers. Some of the stand-outs on their menu include Detroit Pizza, Fried Chicken, Rainbow Trout, Roasted Salmon, Beer Battered Fish & Chips, Korean Style Ribeye, Meatloaf and 36 Hour Slow Roasted Pork Ribs marinated in jalapeno BBQ sauce. One of my favorites was the Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue starter that I had heard so much about. The bowl of round pretzel balls coated with just the right amount of salt arrived soon after our drinks. A small little cast iron bowl filled with provolone cheese rested on a base with a tea light underneath to keep the cheese warm. Tearing open a pretzel ball, dipping in the cheese... Yom Yom Yom Yom! Our table ordered Fish & Chips, Prime Rib Dip sandwich and Fried Chicken. I tried some of Jeff's beer battered fish. Fried to a beautiful golden brown, the crispy batter hid a tender, flaky cod (I believe) that was delicious. Tammy got the prime rib dip sandwich. It arrived with a small cup of au jus, fries and a slice of pickle. Tammy enjoyed her sandwich but wished there was a little more fontina cheese and horseradish creme fraiche. I sampled the fried chicken plate. Be ready to get messy with your hands because it normally consists of a leg, thigh and half of a breast. The nicely fried seasoned breaded exterior had just the right crunch revealing steaming juicy chicken underneath. Yom Yom Yom Yom. My buttermilk biscuit had a nice golden coat with a soft fluffy center. The coleslaw was also delicious. But my mash potatoes with gravy was dry. If we had received our meal 10 mins earlier, it would've been perfect. I suspect that our four top was left under the warming lamp a little too long before it was served. Prices have a wide range from 12 to 42. CD's ability to make a reservation online is a big plus. We were able to make a reservation the day of on a busy holiday weekend. It also happened to be storming during our visit and the lights even flickered for a second resetting their Direct TV and FIFA Soccer feeds, but we were fortunate that the restaurant and kitchen didn't have to close due to a power failure. It can get loud especially if they have live entertainment. The high ceiling helps with the high decibels, but CD may not be your spot for a quiet romantic dinner unless you're in one of their private rooms. Our server Eva was very attentive and never let our drinks get too low. Even the floor manager Taylor stopped by our table to welcome us. CD is a great place for a good time. They host live music, local bands, games, private dining and group celebrations. I look forward to returning and trying the Salmon next time. Welcome to Birmingham, Culinary Dropout!

My dad ordered the "Magic City Manhattan" -- I'm not normally a dark liquor person, but I thought this was fantastic. I think it was the pecan liquor which made it so good. We split the muscles appetizer, which was great. The broth was so warm, garlicky, acidic, perfect. Love. And the bread that came with was great, too. If I'm being picky, the bread services' butter could've been more room-temp and easier to spread. But that's me being extremely picky. We ordered the lamb chop entree to split, too. Again, great. This is a fantastic spot if you're not looking to travel downtown for dinner. Easy menu, crowd pleasing. Definitely suited for an older crowd, which can be harder to find in the downtown spots.

My friends arrived about 15 minutes before I did and were seated on the patio. When I arrived, the hostess escorted me to join them. We reviewed the menu and waited for our server to greet us, offer water, or take our drink order. That never happened. After sitting there for more than 35 minutes, not a single employee acknowledged our table. No server stopped by, no one offered water, and no one checked to see if we had been helped. We were essentially invisible. I finally had to get up and speak with the hostess, who immediately moved us inside. The manager came over, apologized sincerely for the oversight, and offered us a complimentary appetizer, which I appreciated. While he handled the situation professionally once he became aware of it, it should never have reached that point in the first place. What was most disappointing wasn't the wait--it was feeling completely ignored. At a restaurant known for its exceptional service and premium dining experience, being overlooked for over half an hour without even a glass of water is unacceptable. I've always had excellent experiences at other Perry's locations, so this visit was especially surprising. Unfortunately, this experience has left a lasting impression, and I will not be returning to this location.

Bissell breakfast with pancakes, scrambled eggs, cheese grits, bacon and a biscuit. 2. Small sausage gravy side 3. Chicken tenders plate with creole mustard, green beans and French fries. Issue: I quickly glanced through the see through lid of the boxes and noticed toast instead of a biscuit and no container that would have had the cheese grits. Went inside to notify the team and expo of missing items (also brought the bag back in). The expo called for these missing items from the kitchen. The cook glanced and then asked if he had a ticket for that? I managed restaurants for years so I get it when the kitchen asks this, however, the ticket was the one you made incorrectly and the expo did not check for correctness. The expo also stated "it is for a DoorDash order that she said is wrong". I'm happy this was a personal order because I got to see firsthand how it appears DD order issues are dismissed since they seemed to assume I was a driver. At least that is how the short exchange presented. They weren't rude it was the tone and lack of apology for my missing items. Mistakes happen. How you respond to and handle them matters. Fast forward - I get home and realize they must have simply switched my order with someone else's. There were hash browns with cheese and diced tomatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese. Was not my order and could not eat this order. The pancakes were just okay. Tried the sausage gravy with the biscuit. Not something I would get again but this part isn't a reflection of Metro Diner. Ordered this just to try it since many rave about this southern combo. Let's just say there will be more for everyone else to enjoy.

The food was good once they got it correct…read more I was surprised on how long they allowed the tables to remain dirty and un bussed considering that there were plenty of employees just standing around at the time and the restaurant wasn't full by any means. I was disappointed in the attitude of the server that we had.
