Il Supremo stands as tall as the rest and maybe the best although we have not finished our survey. This location has a lot of fond memories for me. When I first moved to Old Metairie in the 1980s, I often dined at Delerno's which served amazing food at this location for over 40 years. It was an old style neighborhood Creole Italian and Seafood restaurant, examples of which can still be found throughout the metro area although the numbers are declining. The owner reportedly was one of the first New Orleans restaurant owners to include crawfish on his menu including a Festival of Crawfish featuring what we would essentially call a crawfish platter, crawfish prepared different ways. You have to love a guy like that. I was so sad when it closed. Anyway, back to the pizza. Il Supremo makes pizza as delicious as any pizza I've had in New York or San Francisco. The crust is thin and crunchy with what appears to be a cornmeal dusting. The crust is baked to perfection, brown and crispy with a few, but not too many, burned areas- just the way I like it. The cheese is excellent as is the sauce which has a bit of a kick but not too much to be overpowering. And the amount of sauce is perfect, not too much for those who like it stingy, and enough for the red gravy lovers of the New Orleans. We ordered the Wooster which was pepperoni, roasted garlic, shallots, and basil. It was outstanding. The garlic and shallots were a perfect complement to the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. The basil frankly looked great but was not very evident, if at all, in the overall flavor profile. Perhaps it would be were it added after baking. The space itself is decent with only a few tables but crowded and noisy even at 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. It shares space with Super Witch ice cream, so if you want dessert, you don't have to go far. I will definitely be back for more pizza from Il Supremo. NB The website is a little heavy handed and full of rules and caveats including that pickup orders have to be ordered 24 hours in advance. I ordered the morning of my pickup and had no problem. I have no idea why you would have to order 24 hours in advance. Regardless, that is the rule. I guess you could call and ask if you're too late to order but, of course, they have no phone. Such is life in the new millenium. If you called Delerno's, Mrs. Delerno would answer.

We had a large party and were sat in the back room which happened to be infested with flies topped off with flouresent lighting and no music. The flies were so bad that the container of red peper flakes had about 50 flies swarming inside to point where my 2yr old pointed it out and said "Ewwww bugs!!" We told the waiter of the problem and he said they knew about it and spray once a week but essentially it is what it is. No visit from the manager or anything to make the situation right. I was probably one of the only people who truly enjoyed my meal. Everyone else mentioned the food quality or taste not being the same... or they had flies in their food. The new bathrooms only have 1 stall which is quite a downgrade from the last location. Our server was very nice overall though. Wont be back.

The cashier that attended us, Carla, was fine at first. After we had paid I asked for a number for our table and she said she forgot and gave it to the other person and would just bring us out our food, that is totally fine mistakes happen I'm ok. Once the food comes I notice that it was incorrect. It should have been just a plain cheeseburger with bacon. It came out with ketchup, pickles, boom sauce, and onions. I went up to the line to ask them to remake it and Carla saw me standing there and whispered something to someone I now know is the manager, Alexa. She then had me get in the back of the line before I was able to speak to her. Once there I explained the issue and just asked for a remake and thought it was the end of the issue. Again mistakes happen I get it. The remake came out to us in less than 3 minutes so I was very shocked, so I open the burger to see how they did it so fast just to see the ketchup and residue from everything that was on there before had just simply been smeared off. So not only did they make it wrong the first time but after they decided to just bring me back the same burger no remakes or anything just colder and smeared. At this point I was upset and went back to the counter and asked to speak with the manager, Alexa. I explained the issue and what my annoyance is and she said "so you want a refund." There was no apology, no excuse for what happened. We will not be returning and will not be recommending this restaurant again which sucks because we really love the Baton Rouge location.
