Picked up a piece of cherry and a piece of strawberry rhubarb for after dinner tonight. It was perfect! The crust was buttery and flaky and the filling was sweet and tart. I warmed mine and put ice cream on top. We both ate all of it before taking a picture so we'll just have to go back for another dessert. They have so many to choose from! Been on a search for the best pie crust around. So far this ranks very high. Light, buttery & smooth. Only complaint was the top edge of the crust was way too thick. Really detracted from the pie. Cust service was great, very patient & helpful. Coconut Meringue was excellent. Lots of coconut throughout. Strawberry Rhubarb was a bit too sweet. Key Lime was enough tartness to rival those down in Florida. Apple was good, not overly sweet. Hopefully the thick edge crust was a one day error. We will be back. read more

Bought a whole apple pie and a slice of key lime pie. Key Lime: was ok. Crust had a slight bitter/burnt taste that caused the whole thing to be off kilter. Filling was allright. Apple: This was a huge disappointment. 30 dollar pie. looked good, picked it up, and it felt heavy....took it home, and the filling was apples and a bunch of water. Crust was a bit hard and overcooked, it sealed all the water in. Very very running water fill. To make it worse, one of of the apples pieces still had a stem in it. ....did I mention this pie was 30 dollars? I could have bought 5 grocery store pies for this price and it would have been substantially better than this disaster of a pie. I won't be going back. Product was not worth the price. Next time you go to Roanoke to eat at one of the many great restaurant choices, you might just consider saving some room for dessert and heading on over to Oak St. Pies. It's a small little shop with lots of flavor. I only saw 2 tables inside with a few more outside. The thing that strikes you right off the bat is the large selection of pies and fudge. I was impressed and they told me that they usually have even more. Everyone there was extremely friendly. I had the banana cream pie. It was very tasty. Nice flavor, very smooth and a nice firm crust. My wife had the feature pie which was the Mexican hot chocolate cream pie. Flavor was through the roof. Just like Mexican hot chocolate, the flavor starts out smooth and sweet and ends with a little chili spice hit to the back of the throat for the finish. My wife and I loved it. I went here for a before dinner snack after visiting the local wine bar. I ordered the key lime pie. It was so delicious with the perfect ratio of crust, key lime, and cream. I wish the pie shop was open a little later then it is. Their coconut cream pie must be amazing since it was sold out when I got there. I am looking forward to going back and trying some new flavors. UPDATE - the pies are still delicious here but they no longer hand-form their crust. They just became too popular and are now stamping their crust. I stopped in here with a girlfriend while we were stomping around the small towns north of DFW this past Tuesday. The first thing your hit with is the smell- it's heavenly. I don't know how you could walk in here and leave without tasting something (or everything). We ordered a slice of coconut pie and it was incredible- rich, creamy, a nice toasted coconut top that added great texture. We split it on there cute patio. The service was great too, very kind and new her stuff! We were able to sample the fudge, which to neither of our surprises, was also wildly delicious. read more
