I brought my favorite pair of leather boots to have new heels put on. He destroyed my right boot and then had the audacity to tell me that was how I brought them to him. I even showed him the pictures that I took of boots when I dropped them off and that they were in pristine condition. He offered no compensation and didn't even refund to me what I paid for the heal replacement after destroying my boots. absolutely the WORST place and I would never recommend anyone to go there if they'd like to get their item back in good condition. read more

Rojellio is an excellent craftsman. His family has owned this location for over 20 years and my family has been using their service just as long. I recently brought my loubitines to him because my dog ate the entire strap. (Hes got expensive tastes) Roy did a wonderful job creating a brand new strap for both shoes so they match. He also put on new heel caps, nonslip red bottom covers and fixed the imperfections in the leather without having to ask. He really went above and beyond and they came out beautifully. read more

This place is nestled in the basement of the Professional Building. I was in need of non skid pads for the outside of my shoes. These pads are difficult to find outside of a shoe repair and most repair shops are closed on Sundays. Not Oakbrook. They are open until 4p and the store carries a plethora of shoe items. I am happy I found it and would recommend you make your way there to should the need arise. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Took 2 months and finally he says I can puck up my coach briefcase. He only completed onerepair out of 2 on it, but spray painted the bag and said he waterproofed it. I told him we didn't ask for that. When I took it home my husband said that the guy ruined his briefcase. I back today to have him explain and f8x what I paid for, but he is closed when the sign says open. What a joke. Another woman showed up seeing he was closed and said he took her bag apart in February and it is April and it's still not put back together. What kind of business is he actually running here? I wish I had read the reviews for Oakbrook Shoe Repair before taking my Coach bags to Roy for repair. I did so because he was recommended by the Coach store in Oakbrook mall (I honestly can't figure out why they would send customers to him). First, Roy repaired the straps on an older coach bag, and although the repair wasn't horrible, the straps look like fake leather and really cheapen the look of the purse. It's my second bag repair that turned out to be a nightmare... Roy assured me (despite my trepidation) that he could repair a large scratch/tear on a beautiful bag of mine... it took him much longer than he promised, and when he had finally finished it, he informed me that he had painted over the scratch with nail polish. I had paid $120 (in advance, because that's how he works) for that repair alone. It looks horrible. I was kind to him despite my disappointment, but he could tell that I was not happy. His solution was to suggest that I go to a nail salon to find a different nail polish color if I was not happy with it (which is absurd). He also promised a discount on a future visit. I brought in a red shoe to get strap restitched & not only is there black glue all over the strap, he used the wrong color thread. Also, there is a big thumbprint from the glue on the shoe. I've been bringing my doc martens here for about 6 years. Everytime I get them back theyre clean, buffed, polished and look brand new. I wear them often, and when music fests were still a thing, I wore them for those events (about 4-7 fests/year) and he gets them so clean and fresh after each one. The heels have been wearing for a few years, and hes replaced them each time. However, my one sole completely cracked and he put new, sturdy soles on both boots. They feel comfy, and i have much more stabilized when walking in them. They have more grip than the OG doc soles, to be honest. My mom has also brought her purses in to get fixed up. Most recently, her Ralp Lauren purses needed to be re-stiched and he did great; the purse looks brand new. He's priced well, compared to other places and is super friendly and sweet. I agree with the other reviewers, Rojelio is excellent, but the problem is his niece that works there is not. I took a purse strap in for extra holes for extra length, and she added the holes but did not measure. So, the holes were not evenly spaced. It's not that big of a deal, but that's the difference between okay and excellent. read more

Honestly if i could give him 0 stars i would. i brought in my louis vuitton bag for a leather cleaning and to fix a small hole on the inside and had to come in 3 separate times because of the terrible conditions he was leaving my bag in. he absolutely DESTROYED it . he used acrylic paint on the leather, left glue and paint smudged all over the bag and you could even see the paint brush streaks after it was dry! and the paint was already chipping off after 30 minutes of me getting my bag back. it looks like a fake now! as i read previous reviews written about this place, he said the exact same things to me as a couple other women, along with my bag looking "very old" when it's fairy new. and on top of that he was extremely disrespectful to my daughter and i. i urge you to never ever come here. no clue how he's still in business. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Staff was distracted when I dropped off my shoes (women yelling at her son behind the counter), so much so that when I confirmed I could pick my two pairs of shoes today (1/2), she said "absolutely." So I should not have been surprised when I showed up today and they were closed. Also, all I wanted was to have my shoes re-soled. They make you either get the $60 full service, which includes winterizing and conditioning (which I didn't want) or the only replace PART of the sole. I've never heard of that before. I just want my shoes back and I'll NEVER bring my shoes there again.I read more

I brought in my UGG boots in because on one of them the zipper broke. I've had these boots for about 3 years now and they are still in a good condition so I wanted to fix the zipper. I was a little worried because I wasn't sure if they will do a good job but today I picked them up and they look as new! They also cleaned and sprayed them for me! Beware of Oakbrook Shoe Repair! The owner and his son seem like they care about their customers when you first meet them, but I will never again trust my shoes or purses to them. After "losing" my shoes for 3 weeks, 3 visits to the store to try to retrieve them, having to buy a new pair, pre-paying $150 for the repair of 2 pairs of shoes, the owner wouldn't even consider a partial credit when he finally found them. Went in for a scuffed heal repair. Charged me $25 in advance and said they would be done in a week. Never explained what needed to be done just assured me they would be fixed. Went back 9 days later & shoes were not done and I had to come back in 20 minutes. My heals looked worse then when I dropped them off. He said he would replace the heal for $40 more. I felt ripped off and felt they didn't spend anytime on repairing the shoes. It would have been nice to have known the options before I paid.Not a good experience at all! My coach shoe's bow had fallen off and I gave it to them for fixing it. They charged me $20 and guess what? It had fallen off from my shoes once again and I went back to them asking for a refund for the bad job that they had done. The day before my wedding I went to this shoe repair based on the recommendation of my future husband. This person said he worked on wedding shoes all the time and should be no problem adding a rubber sole to it. My shoes were ivory satin. I asked him at least 20 time, "you are not going to damage my shoes right?" Sure enough when I get back there he shows me the shoe he didn't screw up. The other shoe tucked away in my shoe bag was damaged and now ugly. It was a horrible job and I would not recommend you take your important shoes to him. He tried to cover up his mistakes.
