Had a door electrical issue to be fixed. Earliest service appointment was over 3 weeks out- other Hyundai dealers had appointments mire than 3 months out. So i booked it. Arrived early for appointment and was told to sit in my car until the appointment time. I get signed it and was told my car may or may not be looked at that day and it may be several days??! Asked them what was the point of scheduling an appointment when my car would sit there and they go into this spiel about "well other places take longer". Told them I don't care about the"others". Then they say they will give me $10 credit to use Lyft- big deal but that only covers a fraction of the cost to get home not to mention getting back once the car is fixed and the time off I had to take. This will definitely factor into consideration when it's time for a new car- right now Hyundai is blacklisted read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Hyundai Oakland's service department was frustrating from start to finish. The sales team was friendly and helpful when we purchased our Hyundai Ioniq 5. Unfortunately, everything after the sale was a completely different story. The portable EV charger included with our vehicle was defective from the beginning. Instead of making the replacement process straightforward, the dealership was incredibly difficult to work with. I ultimately had to escalate the issue to Hyundai Corporate just to get a replacement charger shipped within a week. Even after Corporate approved the replacement, the dealership insisted I bring the entire vehicle in so they could take photos--even though the problem was clearly with the charger, not the car. It felt like unnecessary bureaucracy that wasted my time. Scheduling that appointment was another ordeal. Louise at the front desk was consistently unhelpful and difficult to work with throughout the process. Communication was poor, scheduling was frustrating, and the overall customer experience was far below what I'd expect from a dealership representing Hyundai. When I finally came in, we still had to wait an excessive amount of time, and we were even skipped over before eventually receiving the replacement charger. What should have been a simple warranty replacement turned into weeks of unnecessary hassle, multiple phone calls, an escalation to Corporate, and a wasted trip to the dealership. The contrast between the helpful sales staff and the disappointing service department couldn't have been greater. This was easily one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in recent memory, and it has seriously affected my confidence in returning to Hyundai Oakland for future service. read more

I went in for tire pressure light. I waited 5 hrs on busy day. I was told they checked, found no problem and they added air. One week later I had psi in 20's again. They said: "Here is a nail. We won't patch due to tread 1/32 inch at 23K miles of use. Buy these Hankook Ventus tires ,(same as car now has)." I told them I would shop for tires. They said sign this release of liability form. I bought Costco tires. Saved $152.00 and Costco fixes road hazard damage free of charge which Hyundai did not do when I had a nail last year. Great car! Ioniq 6 2024. 1 star. Would not recommend. Bought a used car here and the whole experience felt rushed and disappointing. They used the typical "other people are coming to look at it" pressure tactic to get us to move fast. We were told the car would be detailed and charged before pickup, but neither was really done. They also didn't volunteer the exterior damage on the car until I asked about it directly, which didn't feel transparent. The worst part was finding a stain on the floor mat that had been covered up with a paper mat. When we brought it up, they said we could come back for a detail, but we live an hour away, so that felt like an empty offer. The car also only came with one key, which wasn't clearly disclosed before purchase. A replacement was quoted around $600 by other local dealerships. Overall, it felt like they only cared about getting the sale, not taking care of us after. Would not buy from them again. read more

Been excited about getting an Ioniq 5, and finally in a place in my life to buy a NEW car, not just new to me. Made an appointment on Monday for a Wednesday test drive. Showed up a few minutes early, and greeted by Chen, who took me out to the lot for a test drive. As soon as we got to an Ioniq in the color I was interested in, Chen went back to the office to get the keys. Okay, why didn't he get them first? I was just standing out there in a hot parking lot. After a while Chen came back out with keys to a different Ioniq... that was blocked in by the first car. He went back to get keys a second time. A while later Chen came back... without keys. He started looking at the VINs of the other surrounding Ioniqs, with hopes he could go back in and find the keys for one of them (color doesn't matter for a test drive, so okay I guess). After Chen went back the third time for keys, I waited... and waited... and then finally left. It had been 7 minutes since I had last seen him, 20 minutes I'd been standing in the parking lot in 80+ weather. The lot was a little bit away from the customer parking, so it took me three more minutes to get there. Not once did Chen make it back outside before I left. Chen was polite, and blamed the key problem on them just moving from San Leandro, which is fair-ish. The problem being, if they can't find the keys to the cars, why let me schedule a test drive? This wasted over an hour of my time, counting the time it took to drive there and back. I'd say pass on the new Oakland location until they get their act together and find all the keys. read more

This is a review of the service center, owned by the same company. I waited 4 1/2 weeks for a repair that should have taken a few hours. During a warranty-covered repair over the summer, technicians discovered another issue with a leak on the axle. I didn't mind that the part was backordered and I had to wait 4 weeks. When the part was in, I brought by car for what should have been a couple of hours for the repair. I received a call telling me that they ordered the wrong part, and it would be 2 weeks for the correct part, and since they had already disassembled the axle, I couldn't take my car and would have to use a rental. I waiting three weeks without hearing anything, and when I called (on a Friday) I was told the part was in and the car would be ready Monday. On Monday afternoon I received a call that, once again, they ordered the wrong part. How do they order the wrong part twice in a row? I would have to wait another week. I asked the service associate to have the manager call me with updates. I never heard from him. Not once. As a result, I couldn't use my cart for income, and I had to delay a planned move out of the region. In the end, not once did anyone apologize for any incovenience. I leased an Ioniq 5 at this location and I highly recommend it. I was in touch with a lot of different Hyundai locations around the Bay Area and they gave me the best price. I was looking for a rare color, and they were one of the few that had it in stock - I think they have a bigger selection than many dealerships. They were transparent in their pricing, responsive, and easy to communicate with. What was especially great is that they had me sign the forms online the day before, so it was super fast and easy to pick up the car in the dealership. The dealership advertised a used 2021 Polestar 2 last week on their own website as well as on Cargurus for what they described as Simple Pricing ( price on veh $18,997 + $85 Document fee). I then made an inquiry and the salesman told me that the correct price is now $23,497. An increase of $4,500. He had the ad on the F/B Marketplace. I asked him why the discrepancy and he told me that they had lot of inquiries on this vehicle. I had his name but he told me that it was the management decisions and asked me to retract my review because he was trying to make a living at which I did. It should be note that it's against the law per California Vehicle Code, Section 11713.1 to change the advertised price. I hope the owner of this dealership realize what their management is doing/or they know about their practice. What a dishonest,despicable business. I also hope that the Hyundai sanction this sleazy dealership. read more

Absolutely crap service. Here on a Sunday -- sales guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. An hour into it, and there's no time left for a test drive. So go home and do our homework, and SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT to test drive a specific model (Santa Fe Calligraphy) that they CONFIRMED. Had to clear my own work schedule and drive OVER AN HOUR through traffic from SF to San Leandro, only to get jacked around. First "salesman" says that the Santa Fe had been "recalled," and "manager" then (inconsistently) says it was "sold" earlier that day, so don't we want to look at another model instead .... BULLSH*T!! Why do car dealerships have to be so freaking painful to deal with?? I hope nobody spends a dollar at this location. I should've done my homework and seen the horrible reviews before mine. Lesson learned. Heading to the Concord Hyundai to see if they are any better. Otherwise, Hyundai will have just lost an otherwise long-time customer (we have been driving Hyundai the last 13 years, but this is seriously enough to put an END to such loyalty, and I hope the owners/brand are paying attention). Leased an Ioniq 5 from them in July and the experience was far from good. 1. Salesman provided incorrect information on how to charge with the provided adaptor. The result was my spending 2 days scouring the Internet to come up with the correct information. 2. Salesman snuck in $1,200 of upgrades (a door edge guard and unneeded insurance) and never mentioned them. 3. For 4 weeks, I couldn't register at the Hyundai Motors Financing site to pay the lease. Multiple sales staff at the dealership assured me that corporate was the problem. After a month, it turns out that the dealership had messed up the paperwork and we had to redo everything. It took a full 6 weeks from the time I picked up the vehicle to getting the paperwork done. Two of their sales staff said that any evaluation I provided less than 10/10 was going to cause them problems. Well, they have problems. read more

Charged me $570 for a replacement key fob, ($300 for the fob & $250 to program it), and then wanted another $120 for a little cap and key that goes into the fob, or $60 for the plastic cap without the key with a ring that you need to attach to the fob to put in on a key chain. I now find out that All of these items are available on line for a fraction of the cost. (except the programming). Will never go back to a company that has such exploitive charges. read more
