We love this place. Staff are prompt, friendly and service is pretty quick. Daily specials are usually a variation of the regular menu which is diverse but mainstay bar offerings. Good local and regional beer selections with 4-5 rotating taps. Food is nothing fancy but fresh ingredients and reliably good. But it's the SLAW that is irresistible and addicting. I noticed previous comments, from 2015, mention the slaw. It is still great. Slightly Asian, crunchy, not vinegary or mayonaise-y, and always hits the spot. read more

I came here on a Friday night for dinner and the place was relatively busy. The waitress was great at accommodating and recommended a good beer to try. She was very friendly and talkative! I love me some OPG! I live in Oakley and this has become a frequent spot for lunch or dinner. Service is always great, there's onsite parking, and I love the food. My favorite thing to get here is their veggie wrap and this visit in I got it with the sweet potato fries. My boyfriend got the shrimp tacos for Taco Tuesday and we split the buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer which is one of their popular starters. It's a little runny, but never stops me from eating it. Pros: Great service, good atmosphere, great for larger groups (they have enclosed patio that is cozy as well as seating in the basement), solid selection of beers. Cons: the food wasn't great. We joined a large group on the enclosed patio. There were Plenty of servers who regularly checked in with everyone. Our service was fast. We started with chips and salsa/queso (they brought us more chips which was nice) and that came out promptly and was good. Chips were nice and warm. I ordered fish tacos. They were okay, but the fish was cold. My husband ordered the Soul Burger and wasn't impressed. The waffle fries and wings were good though. If the food was higher quality, I would have rated it higher overall. I think this place would be good to stop in for a drink and a quick appetizer. This restaurant came by recommendation, so we stopped in for the first time tonight. Our food was fantastic! Family of 5, lots of variety and everything was wonderful. The blackened fish sandwich, hawaiian pulled pork sandwich and the cabbage salad were our favorites! We enjoyed dining on the patio as well. The Oakley Pub & Grill is well known for their delicious burgers, and we're sure they are the bomb but we prefer our meat soaked in vodka. Thankfully, they also have an ass-kicking bloody mary! Made spicy, just the way we like them, and served with a pickle, and olive, cheese and SLIM JIM garnish! We coulda handled the entire Slim Jim, but I guess we needed to save room for that burger. They also serve their bloody with a beer chaser, as the good lord intended it. Everything I said about Oakley Pub a couple of years ago pretty much still stands. With one big caveat: Oakley Pub's kitchen seems to have forgotten how to cook a hamburger. The last several I've had here, over about an 18-month span, have been pretty badly overcooked and flavorless, and just kind of slapped together. Please note, Oakley Pub: When a customer asks for a burger medium rare in a restaurant that purportedly grills burgers "to your liking," as the menu here says, he or she is usually not talking just to hear the sound of his or her own voice. And please: grill or griddle the bun. Oakley Pub was ranked in the top ten burgers in that silly Top 40 Burgers list in Cincinnati Magazine a couple of years back, but since that time, it appears that the kitchen has decided to rest on these laurels and to send out a parade of well-done hockey pucks in lieu of their formerly delicious burgers. In short, this burger is officially overrated right now. Nonetheless, because everything else on the menu and about Oakley Pub seems to be holding up pretty well--e.g. the grouper sandwich is still good, the reuben is among the best in town, that Asian-style slaw is still ace, and this is still a very agreeable place to have some food and a couple of beers. Another plus: The service seems to have tightened up from what I described in my original review. I still endorse Oakley Pub. Just not their burgers. And if the original review was a like a 4.25, rounded down,consider this update a 3.75, rounded up. UPDATE (6/17): After a few years of not visiting Oakley Pub, for whatever reason, we've been back a handful of times recently, also for whatever reason. I'd say the rating is still hovering around where I last left it. Some things on the menu are quite good, like the reuben and the fish sandwich. The slaw as a side is still a big positive. New-ish waffle-cut fries are an upgrade. So is freshly-brewed iced tea. Some menu items are flat-out mediocre, though: We've had bad luck with fish tacos and the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches (terrible bread). read more

I tried OPG for the first time during Cincinnati Wing Week. I ordered my wings over the phone and went inside the establishment to pay and pick up my order. It seemed a little crowded for a small space considering the pandemic world we live in, but all the employees were wearing masks and there were shields put in place to provide barriers. The wings were pretty average. I was a little disappointed with the lack of sauce on my wings, but maybe I needed to ask for that so that's on me. Came for Tuesday nite Trivia with family. They have a taco special that night. Plenty of great beers to choose from. Our server Angie is the best. She works here tail off taking care of her patrons. The food is the usual pub fare and they have good veggie options too. I had the Greek wrap and it was quite tasty also the pretzel bites with beer cheese is a good appetizer option. Great little neighborhood corner bar. The patio is now open for outdoor dining and drinking. It's got a cool stone fireplace. Basement is open too. With nightly food and drink specials, this place is fairly busy pretty much 7 nights a week. The Soul Burger was voted #7 Best Burger by Cincinnati Magazine, rightfully so, because it is a damn good sandwich. I would suggest getting the Unique Slaw whenever possible. It isn't like a creamy coleslaw, it is cabbage, but it is sweet and Asian inspired with crispy ramen noodles crushed up in it. I could eat it by the bucket, it is soooo good. The menu consists basically of pub-grub, but it seems to be done to a slightly higher standard. There's wings and pizzas and burgers and quesadillas and fish tacos and Phillys, as well as salads. On top of their daily specials, on Saturdays and Sundays they have the Hangover Specials until 4PM. Breakfast/brunch types of food and I believe Bloody Mary specials. Know your target market, cater to your target market. (edited to add) -If you like/love the Soul Burger, I would suggest getting the Grilled Chicken Club. The good: big burgers cooked to order. The great: wings, buffalo chicken dip (!), the awesome square plates I ordered the Hawaiian burger for burger week, the beef is decent. But the flavors didn't meld. The pineapple was from a can, barely grilled. The chipotle mayo was incredibly underwhelming. The cheese wasn't melted. I wouldn't order it again but didn't spit it out either. We ordered a side of blue cheese for the buffalo chicken dip.... which the dip is great - is a solid mild buffalo heat that doesn't build on ya... but the blue cheese ended up separating and looked VERY gross. BUT it did taste awesome when it was united. This doesn't effect my review but just FYI there's a basement with seating. Who knew? read more

The Oakley Pub is keeping their doors open for take out food and drinks. The bar may be empty, but their hearts are full of passion for their business, and taking care of customers (like me) looking to still get something off the menu. I cannot put it into words how the staff went out of their way to make sure our carry out was top notch. We were all thrown this curve ball together, and are doing what we can to stay afloat. I'm so glad I was shown this restaurant when I first moved to Cincy. The outdoor space was so unique and allowed for social distancing, the picnic tables had QR touch less ordering, although you had to order food inside and the food would get brought out to your table. The cheese curds are to die for! They had a great beer selection as well. I went on a weeknight but I would love to experience this place on a weekend when there is an event or cornhole boards out. The patio looks like a perfect place to see some yard games and the food matches the aesthetic of an awesome place to hang out with friends! read more

First time visitor a few days ago. I've been twice to eat here, both visits were on a Monday and they're closed on Mondays (beware). Anyway, I have the burger and sweet potato fries. Now my favorite food item in the whole world are burgers. I just love a good burger. This burger was the best in Cincinnati. I've tried burgers all over my city and at one time O'Byron had the best (in my opinion) but something haven't (I think an ownership change). Back to the burger, cooked to perfection, bun was nice (not too hard, not too soft), the topping were fresh and it melted in my mouth. Go get one, promise you will not regret it. read more

Came here for Burger Week, and their burger was probably my favorite! They have a great outdoor patio area (dog friendly) and I love that they have fans out there, but they did not have them on the day I went. We needed them badly because it was hot and buggy. But anyways back to the food. The Memphis Burger was juicy and packed great flavor. I also had an order of the Oakley Nachos which were piled high with so many toppings!!! I should have asked fro not olives because they threw ALOT on there. But if you like black olives, then you are in luck! Our dinner guests also had the burger week $5 burger and they ordered 3 along with an order of traditional wings, which I think they did enjoy, but they also said they were nothing special. Fun spot we had lunch at. Beer of the month was Fifty West so enjoyed that. Burgers, salad, soup, and chicken was all super. Started with queso dip and chips along with the brews. Ha..well we were pleasantly surprised to realize that the Oakley Pub and Grill is exactly the same as the Anderson Pub and Grill. Same menu, same food, slightly cramped dining area compared to Anderson, but pretty identical overall. It's funny, when trying to pick where to eat in the back of my mind I was thinking "I could really go for some Buffalo Chicken Dip from Anderson Pub but I know my girlfriend's not going to want to go there again since we had just been there a week earlier". Ha..low and behold, my wishes were granted and we were able to get the absolutely amazing dip here at Oakley. We decided to try their pizza since we never did at Anderson, and we were overall pretty impressed with how it was. We ordered a basic pizza with bacon and pepperoni. The taste was solid, thin crispy crust, decent amount of cheese, and toppings. The sauce was a bit much..slightly acidic..but not bad. We just know for next time to order light sauce. We had to order some chicken tenders as well because they are seriously the best chicken tenders around Cincinnati. Service wasn't bad. Like I said earlier, this place is not really spacious, everyone is kind of just crammed in there. It seemed like each waiter/waitress has a lot of tables to deal with. Ours was decent enough, got the food out to us very promptly with all things considered. So yes I would definitely recommend this place. It's nice knowing that if/when I get a Buffalo Chicken Dip craving I can run out here and pick some up..because it's an awful lot closer to where I live than Anderson is. read more

I'm giving this a 3 only because 1. Parking was a nightmare 2. It's way too small and 3. The food was just ok. I went there with a huge group so we had a huge table in the basement. The staff was friendly and facility was nice enough. It took me 10 minutes to find parking and I had to park a block away. Which in the dark is not that safe. The food came to me a little bit cold and not cooked the way I wanted it. The fries were really good though. If I came here again or would just to get drinks, not food. read more

What a great place for trivia on Tuesday nights! Typically between 16-20 teams show up each week, which makes for a competitive trivia night and a good atmosphere, except for that one guy that constantly looks over our shoulders and asks what answer we put down on every third question. The same guy gloats when he wins and cries when he loses. Other than him, this place is fun. Gotta get there early for trivia if you want a seat. The basement is a good place to grab a seat at a table or a bar. If you want to watch the game, there's a television wherever you need it and I was surprised to find out that they can get just about any station you need. We were able to get sun coast sports last night to watch the Tampa Bay Lightning, that's pretty obscure. The bartenders are friendly and take care of you. They are very nice and go above and beyond to get what you need. Outside of Tuesday nights I don't come here much. The food is fine, but it's definitely bar food, which you can get at a number of places within walking distance. This is also not the biggest bar in the world, so sometimes you have to take advantage of the basement because there are no other options. If you're the only person in the basement it can be a bit awkward. The best thing about this place has to be THE WHEEL. SPIN THE WHEEL for three bucks and get a shot of roulette! A random shot according to the wheel! Woohoo! It's just one of those fun things they don't have at every bar...so I spin the wheel every time! read more

The menu is nothing spectacular, but the food is decent as are prices. The best thing about it is that they have a patio where I can dine with my dog (always a winner in my book) and a parking lot (if you're lucky enough to find a space). A friend and I went here specifically for the purpose of dining with our dogs. I liked that I could get a veggie burger and we were both pleased with the relaxing, folksy music from the band that was playing. It was a nice Sunday afternoon. I would definitely return here the next time I want to dine out with my dog. There are two patio areas, but you want the one that is adjacent to the parking lot (not the one in the front on the sidewalk). This was my second visit here and I much prefer the roomier outside patio to the cramped inside dining. There is an area both upstairs and downstairs inside, but they both are cramped and almost impossible to move if there is a crowd. Both times the food was decent, but service was a little lackadaisical. While it wouldn't be my first place to choose, it is a solid choice and the option to have my dog with me will always put it over the top. read more

I love OPG. It's a great spot to have dinner or watch a game. The bloodies are spicy and fantastic, possibly the best in the city. They come with a beer back since they are so hot. Big shock tops are also on special on Sunday's when you're having a long Sunday Funday or are watching the Bengal's game. The food is all pretty good. Not my favorite nachos ever but decent. The burgers and wraps are tasty, but GET THE SLAW!!! It's a crazy Asian creation that tastes like something out of a fancy Asian fusion place. In keeping with my promise to try new venues in and around Cincinnati for 2016, we found ourselves looking for a place to eat dinner on a Saturday night. And since we were in the neighborhood, we thought we'd give the Oakley Pub a try. Three key points about the Oakley Pub and Grill, first, it is small - five booths, five tables, and the bar (granted there is a lower level and outdoor seating when the weather is warmer). Second, the food is excellent - great burgers and great wraps. Third, it gets BUSY, however, the staff pulls off a miracle in such a small space. They offer a decent selection of beers including some local and seasonal on tap. In trying to avoid French fries for my own good, I decided to order the Asian Cole Slaw. Not only was it delicious, the portion was soup bowl size, not condiment size like so many others give you. I ordered the Black and Blue burger, and my wife, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, neither disappointed, were delicious, and served in short order. If you're in the neighborhood, it is definitely worth stopping in, and I guarantee you'll come back. But keep in mind, it gets busy fast, so go early. This is the second time I have noticed that the mask policy in the kitchen is non existent. The first time some were wearing them, some ase chin straps, some with no masks. Tonight. One had a mask and the other two, zero masks. So what is the use of all the barriers and front of the house wearing masks if the people preparing the food DOES NOT? It looks like it is just for show. I ordered the special which was a Nashville hot chicken sandwich and we had nachos for an appetizer. The nachos were very big and definitely big enough to share with a couple people.
