Wow just wow! This place is hands down the best place for gluten free food in the area. I had the calamari and it was amazing. I wish I took a photo of the coconut shrimp that my mom ordered because it was hands down the best coconut shrimp I have ever had. The server made sure to tell me everything that can be made gluten free which was about 90% of the menu. They were so knowledgeable and caring! The restaurant was very clean and has room for large groups. If you have a food allergy or just want some high quality food definitely stop in.

Popped into Oar & Iron Sunday here at Babcock Ranch for a bite to eat. We sat at bar to take it all (and to see what everyone was eating). Well, we kept seeing this skillet dish being served to people at the bar. It looked delicious! So I finally asked when the last one was served, and it happened to be the Head Chef Tanya Rapoza we spoke to. She said it was the cornbread skillet. She said it was quite popular here. Half joking I said 'you don't happen to give out samples do you?' Well, sure enough not soon after did Head Chef Tanya circle back to where my boyfriend and I were sitting at the bar with just that... of the most delicious mouthwatering skillet cornbread I've ever had! A must have, not to be missed menu item! And if you happen to see Head Chef Tanya, sure you say hello!

I was excited to try the Sunday smashburger special, but it was a major disappointment. The burger was extremely dry, and the beef had a gristly texture that almost snapped back when you bit into it. A good smashburger should be juicy and tender--this was neither. They also forgot the tomato, and the bun tasted stale rather than fresh. Looking at the burger, the bun-to-meat ratio was way off, which only made the dryness more noticeable. What really sealed the experience was the manager's response. She came out to apologize, but then said that if we wanted an "actual burger," we shouldn't have ordered the Sunday burger special. It came across as condescending and felt like a slap in the face rather than an attempt to make things right. Unfortunately, between the quality of the food and the response from management, I wouldn't order this burger again.

This is a new spot so we decided to try it for Sunday lunch, and they were great! The burgers were on point with a variety of options for proteins and cheeses, plus we got the cornbread appetizer. We were impressed with the food and the service, and we'll be back to try them for dinner too.

I rarely write a review, but I couldn't help myself on this one.. I gave this restaurant 2 tries and I will never go back! My first attempt I went during lunch, I ordered the grilled octopus and a cheesesteak sandwich. The octopus came out cold, sent it back and it was like they warmed it up in a microwave, but was still only lukewarm and just became basically tasteless chewy rubber. The cheesesteak was actually not bad. The waitress I had was pretty decent and definitely not her fault that the food was not great. There was four guys standing around the kitchen, just walking around aimlessly and it looked like the restaurant chef was too busy running around in his golf cart out in the parking lot. My second attempt I went for dinner. It was about two hours before closing and the restaurant was not even a 1/4 of the way full. There is nobody at the host stand so I believe it was the manager that came out and sent me. I sat there for 10 minutes before a waitress came to my table and asked me for my drink order. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back with an iced tea, granted there's nobody in the restaurant. This time I ordered the fillet cooked medium, and a loaded, baked potato. Almost 25 minutes later, in an empty restaurant my food finally came. I had to ask a manager that was walking by to refill my drink because my waitress seemed to be too busy preparing to close rather than take care of her only customer. Again the food came out cold, steak was way overcooked and definitely was not a fillet, was hard and had the appearance of glued steak when I pulled it apart. The baked potato was cold, hard and damn near not edible. $77 for absolute trash, food and trash service. I understand growing pains for a new restaurant, but they have multiple other locations. The manager should be walking around asking customers how they're experiences instead of hiding in the back. This time there was three guys in the kitchen also just standing around. I would hate when that restaurant is slammed because everybody's food would be garbage and take forever.

Had an amazing time and experience with Christian our waiter at the Bar. Wow this young gentleman is an amazing asset to the company wow I watched his every moment in taking care of everyone at bar! Courtesy and also maintaining the bar to its awesome ambiance and do clean every thing was constantly being cleaned and fresh glasses coming out of steam machine plus taking care of all his awesome customers. Thank you Christian for your awesome hospitality and us loving to come back to Oar and Iron in Babcock Ranch.

I drove around looking for something that wasn't a chain and found this place tucked in the corner of a plaza. I immediately got a great vibe walking to the door with the music on in the patio and the fun outside decor. I walked in and was greeted by Andrea (I walked in at 1045, they don't open till 11, oops). She was the sweetest and chatted with me for a little bit and told me about the restaurant. It's owned by her, her husband and his parents. And the other staff is family ad well. They have been open for 4yrs. Started as a food truck on Food Truck Fridays at Founders Square and emerged into this great looking space. Their hours are 11a-9p, but since today is first day of world cup they are going to be playing all the games while open and even stay open later to watch the 9pm games. I was told by Andrea and the waitress that the "Cheesy Birria Tacos" was the top seller so I gave it a try. And I got a passion fruit smoothie as my drink. The smoothie was delicious! (BRAIN FREEEEEZE! LOL) They serve chips and homemade salsa while you wait for your meal. The salsa had a great taste to it. It is a tad lil spicy, so know that if you don't like spice. Andrea let me sit while they were still opening up and once 11 hit the customers started rolling in. I really enjoyed the meal. The meat was so tender, so when I bit into it I bit right theough... I wasn't pulling all the meat out of the taco on the first bite. Perfect. The rice n beans were ehhh... I'm not a fan of R&B, and i knew that. I should have asked what other options there were . I did end up asking for future reference and she said they have plantains and fries. Ill have to remember that for next time! Since I just stopping for a quick bite and to check the place out. I packed half my meal up for later. When I'm in the area again I'll come back and try other items that were recommended. All said and done, I really enjoyed the place. Ill put it on my list to come back with some friends that I know havent been out this way so they can experience it too!

I looked at the outdoor bar but every single seat was taken. All the outdoor tables were booked. So I went inside and saw the inside bar was also full. A table for ten and a table for 6 had departed and needed to be bussed, but both were too much for just one person. So I checked in w the hostess and she asked - booth or table. I wanted table. I got a nice table by the river! Lovely views. Exactly what I wanted. Menus were dropped and soon, Sam was checking in on me. I was so hungry, I had looked at the menu and pics on my way there. I went for the crab cake appetizer and the Gold Wave cocktail. For my entree, I was torn between the Grouper Reuben and the Sea Dog (fried grouper on a long roll, topped with all sorts of goodness). Sam said grouper Reuben was his choice. He asked if I wanted grilled, blackened or fried. I told him to surprise me. For my side, I had the choice of (more) coleslaw (it has coleslaw instead of sauerkraut), fries, sweet potato fries, or a side house or Cesar salad for $4 more. I went w the house salad and their standard citrus vinaigrette. Salad and crab cake came out first. Salad was a huge portion- romaine (some pieces needed better washing), red onion galore, halved cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices. It was great, but needed croutons. The crab cake was the perfect size for one person. It had a whole grain mustard remoulade sauce. Yum! It had some filler but also had a lot of crab. I enjoyed it. The grouper Rueben came out hot!!!! Served with a side of coleslaw and a pickle. I added some needed salt. Boy that fish filet was huge. Sam had put it in grilled for me. Healthy. Nice. I ate half and then I was stuffed. I filled up on the salad and crabcake apparently. I enjoyed the views of boaters going by. It started to rain hard and the folks outside just stayed there. The overhang must've been protecting them well. My server, Sam, was around often to answer my questions. Apparently the grouper Reuben market price is only $21. And if you want redfish or mahi, the price is the same- $21! That's crazy. What a deal. The gold wave is made with Elijah Craig; Good ol Kentucky bourbon. And for dessert, they have cheesecake, peanut butter pie, mud pie, key lime pie, coconut sorbet and orange cake (which he says is a local favorite). I was too stuffed to buy but happy to hear the list. Overall I had a wonderful meal and service was really good. I would recommend adding croutons to the salad, and cleaning up the bathrooms regularly. This place ain't fancy. It's a dirt parking lot. The tables are naked. Folks come casual. However, the prices are great and the food does the talking. Come check them out.
