I am reviewing this placed based off a realtor event I attended. The menu they served, I wasn't too impressed with. I think i should come back and actually have dinner and try some things from the restaurant menu. The only thing I liked really was the shrimp they served to put over grits (and I do not like grits in general) so i just grabbed the shrimp to try. That was very tasty. The pizza was ehh. Not something I would have ordered if I was eating out. I honestly didn't even finish the dessert cup. Wasn't too impressed, but again, id rather give it another try before i based my over all review on just going to an event. We really didnt have service servers since it was self serve, but there were a few servers pouring mimosas and water. All very nice. The chef came out to say hello. The restaurant is brand new so of course it was nice and clean. Ill come back and visit when I have time to enjoy myself and have things I preferred to order on the menu. read more

What a great addition to Babcock Ranch. I took my clients/friends for lunch there few days ago. Matt , our server, had a bubbly personality and was helpful explaining the menu items, sizzle lunch special, etc. We had a guest in the group who is GF, and Matt assured that the items he was interested in were completely GF. We had fried pickles, pulled pork tacos, calamari, bison burger, iron wings, lobster bisque and wedge salad. Everything was prepared perfectly, was very fresh and was very yummy. Wow just wow! This place is hands down the best place for gluten free food in the area. I had the calamari and it was amazing. I wish I took a photo of the coconut shrimp that my mom ordered because it was hands down the best coconut shrimp I have ever had. The server made sure to tell me everything that can be made gluten free which was about 90% of the menu. They were so knowledgeable and caring! The restaurant was very clean and has room for large groups. If you have a food allergy or just want some high quality food definitely stop in. read more

Popped into Oar & Iron Sunday here at Babcock Ranch for a bite to eat. We sat at bar to take it all (and to see what everyone was eating). Well, we kept seeing this skillet dish being served to people at the bar. It looked delicious! So I finally asked when the last one was served, and it happened to be the Head Chef Tanya Rapoza we spoke to. She said it was the cornbread skillet. She said it was quite popular here. Half joking I said 'you don't happen to give out samples do you?' Well, sure enough not soon after did Head Chef Tanya circle back to where my boyfriend and I were sitting at the bar with just that... of the most delicious mouthwatering skillet cornbread I've ever had! Nice place good service but very inconsistent food and quite frankly some food is absolutely disgusting. Get some consistency with the food prep and cooking and you'll really have something there. I was excited to try the Sunday smashburger special, but it was a major disappointment. The burger was extremely dry, and the beef had a gristly texture that almost snapped back when you bit into it. A good smashburger should be juicy and tender--this was neither. They also forgot the tomato, and the bun tasted stale rather than fresh. Looking at the burger, the bun-to-meat ratio was way off, which only made the dryness more noticeable. What really sealed the experience was the manager's response. She came out to apologize, but then said that if we wanted an "actual burger," we shouldn't have ordered the Sunday burger special. It came across as condescending and felt like a slap in the face rather than an attempt to make things right. Unfortunately, between the quality of the food and the response from management, I wouldn't order this burger again. read more

This is a new spot so we decided to try it for Sunday lunch, and they were great! The burgers were on point with a variety of options for proteins and cheeses, plus we got the cornbread appetizer. We've been 3 times now. First time, actual opening day! Fabulous food, no wait and service was amazing. 2nd time I ordered the same thing as the first time, short rib gnocchi. Fabulous, although service wasn't as good. Third time was a few weeks ago, we stopped in during a torrential downpour, late in the day; lunch clearly over but a little too early for dinner. NO ONE in the place but for a handful of tables. Asked if we could sit in a booth between the bar and kitchen. No, we save those for larger parties. Then proceeded to seat us in a booth equally as big. SMH. For no one being in the restaurant it took a long time for our order to be taken and longer to get our meals. Soup was cold and had to be sent back. Going to give that place a break for a bit. Food is good overall but everything else inconsistent. Needs some work. I know call me old fashioned but I don't think management should ever be in jeans. Ever! read more

I rarely write a review, but I couldn't help myself on this one.. I gave this restaurant 2 tries and I will never go back! My first attempt I went during lunch, I ordered the grilled octopus and a cheesesteak sandwich. The octopus came out cold, sent it back and it was like they warmed it up in a microwave, but was still only lukewarm and just became basically tasteless chewy rubber. The cheesesteak was actually not bad. The waitress I had was pretty decent and definitely not her fault that the food was not great. There was four guys standing around the kitchen, just walking around aimlessly and it looked like the restaurant chef was too busy running around in his golf cart out in the parking lot. My second attempt I went for dinner. It was about two hours before closing and the restaurant was not even a 1/4 of the way full. There is nobody at the host stand so I believe it was the manager that came out and sent me. I sat there for 10 minutes before a waitress came to my table and asked me for my drink order. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back with an iced tea, granted there's nobody in the restaurant. This time I ordered the fillet cooked medium, and a loaded, baked potato. Almost 25 minutes later, in an empty restaurant my food finally came. I had to ask a manager that was walking by to refill my drink because my waitress seemed to be too busy preparing to close rather than take care of her only customer. Again the food came out cold, steak was way overcooked and definitely was not a fillet, was hard and had the appearance of glued steak when I pulled it apart. The baked potato was cold, hard and damn near not edible. $77 for absolute trash, food and trash service. I understand growing pains for a new restaurant, but they have multiple other locations. The manager should be walking around asking customers how they're experiences instead of hiding in the back. This time there was three guys in the kitchen also just standing around. I would hate when that restaurant is slammed because everybody's food would be garbage and take forever. read more

Was there with another couple on Saturday night. We had 7pm reservations. My wife already knew ahead of time she wanted the prime rib they always advertised. Went we went to place our order they said they were out of it. How on a Saturday night at 7pm are you out of this. This is prime time for dining. But that's not all. Our friends each ordered a bottle of beer (different brands). When the beers came out they actually barely cold. Our friends mentioned it so the waitress brought out what was supposed to be a frosted glass that was also barely cold. REALLY!! I ordered the steak tips medium rare. And when I cut into them they were well done. And the mashed potatoes were colder than the beers. A glass of wine was $22 my steak was $38. All in all not a good experience. Had an amazing time and experience with Christian our waiter at the Bar. Wow this young gentleman is an amazing asset to the company wow I watched his every moment in taking care of everyone at bar! The service was good overall. They did initially mess up my order and forgot the chicken on my Chicken Caesar salad, but our server corrected the mistake right away and handled it professionally. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed with the food. The salad lacked flavor, and the appetizers were just okay. We met friends there for Happy Hour. We ordered 6 appetizers & drinks from the Happy Hour menu. The drinks were delish(we had 2 ea) and the appetizers were all so different and so good!! We shared them all and were plenty for a meal. Our server, Kole, was helpful and very attentive to make sure all came out perfect! The culinary mgr, Josh, came out to check that our food and experience met our expectations. That was very thoughtful and everything was excellent. Can't wait till the next visit for dinner steaks! We walked in at 3:20on a Thursday afternoon. We stood at the entrance for more than five minutes and no one even acknowledged our existence. The place was not busy at all so there's absolutely no reason why someone couldn't have come to seat us. Not to mention that I'm 6'6" tall and very hard to miss! We went yesterday during social hour. Our server Jack was excellent. He was very attentive. We sat in the bar area which is extremely loud. The food was good. My only complaint was the drink pricing. I ordered a Makers Manhattan with big rock. Was told they charged extra for the big ice cube, so I ordered it with regular ice. I asked how much the drink was and told that it was $17. When the bill came it was $18.50. When asked why it was an additional $1.50 was told that the regular ice doesn't take up as much space as the bid rock so there's more liquor in it. Very confusing. Our server did take it to the manager and she took off the additional $1.50. I've seen this practice in other restaurants and it's dishonest. Just set the price for the drink and don't add on additional cost. read more

My family had lunch at Oar & Iron in Babcock Ranch. We had a fantastic server, Kole Y. He was attentive & friendly. The restaurant feels welcoming. We started out with the Sundried Tomato Hummus. That was so good that I would definitely order again. The wedge salad wasn't anything special. That's a firm, not again. But the rest of our meal was delicious.
