We were recommended Oasis by Hoopes by Stanly Ranch, and were really happy with the choice. We pre-ordered a pecking plate, which was a good size with olives, 3 kinds of cheeses and crackers. We had minors who cost $20 per kid, inclusive of a snack box with juice, goldfish and bubbles. And the adults had a tasting of a variety of wines. We didn't realize there was a choice of tastings and they just started serving us the regular one with sauv blanc, rose, and a few reds...but they also have an all red selection. We liked several of the wines, notably the sauv blanc which was very tasty, the rose and the Merlot (a cab lovers merlot was how they described it). Our kids loved seeing all the animals - from sheep to pigs and chickens, a pony, donkey and more. It was a pretty setting, cozy and the server was friendly. read more

Went here to check this place out and what a gem this place was. As we entered a nice young man name Emanuel took care of us. He was very kind, hospitable and had a great sense of humor. This place is nothing like your average wine. They are kid friendly and have animals that you can hang out with. They have lots of seating and a beautiful plants all around the property. The service was great. They were attentive with the kids. There's no food, they have food, but you have to request it in advance. The ambience is beautiful and the animals look happy/ taken care of. It's pricier than I thought it would be. There's a fee for everything. Non drinkers are $25, if you bring food there's a picnic fee. Kids are a fee. We picked the $40 wine tasting to share between my husband and I and we somehow ended up spending $100. We were there for 30-45 minutes. It's also kid friendly and they bring the kids a cute lil snack tray, but it's not toddler friendly if you have an energetic child. It's very pretty nonetheless, but not somewhere I'd go back to unless there's more changes. None of the wines are sweet. They have a strong flavor that my palate didn't enjoy. The most family friendly winery I've visited! We have a large family with 4 kids ranging from 14 years to 6 months old and were looking for a Napa Valley winery to stop at on our way from the Bay Area to Hidden Valley and came across this hidden gem via Google search. We were greeted with a glass of their Sauv Blanc and were given various seating options to choose from with lots of shade. The farm and animal sanctuary surround you; it is well maintained and doesn't have any "farm" odor! The animals intermingle and look very happy and well taken care of. The kids really enjoyed our time at this winery, which is a hard sell since wine tasting is an adult activity. Children over age 2 are a $20 fee and it includes a snack/activity box for them to enjoy. We received a complimentary tasting of 5 wines with our purchase of 2 bottles per adult. It was a bit pricey for a single tasting, but we walked away with happy kids and 4 bottles of wine to enjoy on our vacation. Highly recommend their Rose! Also enjoyed the Chardonnay and Shiraz. Forgot to mention that you have the option to purchase some delicious Smitten ice cream at the end of your tasting and we also had the cutest puppy come visit our table! read more

This is the spot is perfect for families and animal lovers. This place hosts a quaint animal sanctuary and incredible views of the vineyard. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Special shout-out to Livia who let us talk her ear off and educated my husband and I on the local wines, also shout-out to Denise who educated us in the animals in the property. We loved the wine but came back primarily for the adorable animals and 5 star service. Tastings are on the house when you buy 2 bottles (per person) however, we had no problem doing that as the Rosé was perfectly refreshing on the 80 degree weather day we arrived, and the Cab Sauv is crowd pleaser. This place is aptly named- an oasis! It's a unique and tranquil environment in Napa. Not only can you taste some yummy wine, but you are surrounded by beautiful vineyards, gardens and animals as part of the property's sanctuary. A highlight was meeting two baby pigs they recently took in - chicharron and piggy smalls! About the tasting- There is a fee ($50/person/hr) that can be used towards wine to go or wine to drink there. They do not do traditional tasting flights at the moment. You have the option to purchase mini bottles of wine (3 of your choice for $95) or full bottles (ranging from $35-125). We chose the mini bottle option so we could try a variety- We enjoyed what we had and that they had a few cabs to choose from. read more

We had a wonderful experience here on a Friday afternoon. It was my husband and myself along with our 2 girls (7 and 5 years old). We were greeted with gift bags for our kids that included snacks, juice, coloring pages with crayons, and bubbles as well as a taste of Rose for the adults. The girls were so excited to explore all of the animals and the staff was so welcoming and showed them around and told them all the names of the animals. The wine was excellent as well. It's true that their "tasting" is not traditional and you purchase mini bottles, but we enjoyed this and ended up buying a few bottles. I would highly recommend this place if you want something chill where you can relax and let your kids run around or enjoy a farm atmosphere. We loved it and will absolutely be back. read more

What a delightful winery and mini farm. We had been turned away by Darioush who said reservations only. Not even an offer to pour a small splash for us and visiting niece. They did allow us to walk through their expensive gift shop. Then we went to Hoopes. Greeted with a smile and welcome. I would rate 6 stars if I could! This place has a really cool environment, with almost every farm animal! Who knew a pony could become best friends with my daughter? Be very careful coming to this winery! They try to dupe you by charging by the hour that you stay there. They have a minimum of $50/person, but only for the first hour. Then it's another $50/person if you go over the hour. This policy was not abundantly clear to us and caught us by surprise! Not cool HOOPES!!! P.S. The wine was terrible tasting. My sister arranged a private tasting here for us since her friend Mark just starting working here as a Director and all i can say is WOW! Mark absolutely hit it out of the park and I can honestly say this has been one of the best tastings I have ever been to in either Napa or Sonoma. First off the property is absolutely stunning. The dining/tasting room overlooks the vineyard and there is a beautiful house and pool on property available to rent. Hoopes is building a tasting room in Napa so really the only way to have a tasting on property is by getting hooked up. Mark walked us through the vineyards and showed us their famous Oakville cab vines. He gave us a lot of impressive information regarding the harvesting and wine making processes at Hoopes. The tasting itself was amazing. We had a custom program for our party that featured some of the new releases such as the '16 Sauvignon Blanc, '14 Chardonnay and '15 Rose in addition to the heavy hitters the '13 and '14 Cabernets . Mark expertly explained each selection and was very generous with the pours. In fact, we pretty much finished every bottle that came out in addition to some other special selections he broke out afterward. We met Lindsay Hoopes (and her adorable son) who runs the place now and she was incredibly gracious and hospitable. This is a family run vineyard that produces grapes of incredible quality. Really a much better experience than the big massive vineyards in my opinion. Overall, if you are lucky enough to be invited to this property then you really need to go. Mark and Lindsay are amazing and the wines here are some of the best we have tasted in Napa. Everyone at our tasting promptly joined the wine club as these are truly great wines at very good prices. read more

While the hospitality is great (very friendly staff), the wine was really sub-par. We tasted their sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, rosé, merlot, syrah and cabernet and didn't like any of them. Given the very pricey tasting fee, we were very disappointed. One saving grace though, you can donate the tasting fee to their affiliated animal sanctuary for a tax-deductible donation. read more

We visited Oasis by Hoopes on Saturday, February 24, 2024. This was our second day wine tasting in the Napa Valley. When we arrived, we didn't know what to expect. We were greeted by Brian, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Brian made sure he told us the story of the winery, about the owner, names and details about the animals that they had rescued, and all about the wine. We sipped our wine while sitting outside, where it was beautiful. This was incredibly relaxing. The wine was delicious, and the overall experience was like nothing else that we experienced. Our family visit Hoops last weekend and came out feeling upset and exploited. The place is fine, with a decent view but nothing exceptional to call out. They have a small area with rescue animals which is cool and is a nice attraction for kids. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 kids under 7 years old. They used a minimum rate of $80/hour for the adults and $20 for the kids. My wife and I were there for two hours and the rest for one hour - the bill was more than ~$750!!! The food options are extremely limited and way overpriced. The wine was good. The main reason for this review (and for not going there ever again) is their business model. The check for our drinks and food came up to $350 and they made us buy their product for an additional $400 just ridiculous. I was first introduced to Hoopes Vineyard through the Napa Wine Company (now Ghost Block), whose focus was to introduce cult, classic, and small vineyards to larger markets. Subjectively they have one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in California. I don't say that lightly, as Cabernet is my second favorite grape varietal in this world behind Rhône wines, and for California, I have enjoyed wines from Silver Oak, Caymus, Opus One, Dunn, Kamen, or Groth, and Hoopes outdoes​ them all, equal only to Stag's Leap Cask 23, Screaming Eagle, Jonata and a few select others. Myself and a group of 5 friends visited Hoopes last Sunday on our way back home. Upon arriving, we were so thrilled to see such a lovely setting, rescue animals, and vegan food, as I'm a vegan myself. We were a little bit early so we took a seat, and chatted over a tasting of complimentary rose. But time stood still. We didn't get asked for our order for quite some time, probably around 30+ minutes later. We ordered some food, and bottles of wine, and couldn't wait because we were so hungry! Eventually some came out, but then we were notified that they ran out of ALL of their vegan cheeses for the cheese board. How do you run out of everything or not prepare for that?! The regular cheese board was sub par to say the least. Everything is still in its original plastic packaging, there are no fresh fruits, or vegetables, just plastic wrapped cheese and dried tomatoes and olives. It was very disappointing considering the cost. Service still remained extremely slow, and took us another 30+ minutes to ask for the check as our server was tied up with another party. She finally came with the check, but because you are charged by the hour, and per person, and we had gone over the one hour slightly, she charged us for 2 hours. Our bill was outrageous, and as we tried to discuss it with her, she was rather rude. How can you charge a group of our size $800+ when your service was why it took so long? We were all very disappointed and underwhelmed and likely will never be coming back. They have a terrible business model - not worth it! read more
