Loved! Loved this place. Had a Sunday lunch there "the Burger Deluxe" and let me tell you, it was absolutely delishhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! And very reasonable prices. The Cole slaw salad was home made fresh with home made dressing!! Now where can one find this anymore? All restaurants are using the big bucket ready made yucky dressings!!! The pickles are super delicious, and fries great!! Too bad I live so far away from Oasis! I just happened to be in the neighborhood for a Christmas concert back on 12/18/2016 and overheard some folks at the church say: "Let's go to Oasis" and I Yelped it and went there. I've really only had breakfast food here, so I'll give it a solid three stars until I can report further. The food comes quick and the service is attentive. It's clean from what I can tell and definitely more appealing than other diners that are nearby. The cashier and host are also pleasant, and remember regulars by face/name. I when to this diner with some friends from out of town. I was very disappointed with the reception that we received when he got there, I don't know if it is because we are African Americans that we were sent to the back dining hall past the kitchen. The hall have tables and chair that are old and chipped and looked like they were not clean. After we were seated, our server brought over a basket with muffins with no paper lining and just sort through the basket on the table and walked away. We decided to leave and as we were leaving we saw seats were available in the front where all of the white customers were seated and their muffins were in serving trays with cloth towels to keep them warm. The ppl of oasis are scam artist!!! Every Friday I call for an order for delivery for my son something simple as chicken tenders and French fries with a milk shake every week it's a different price never really reading into it I happen to ask the man who took my order over the phone how much it would be he told me 13.50 all together . When delivery man came he was telling me it's 19.50 I was furious and told delivery boy to call and get the right price he had called someone and started speaking Spanish I called the restaurant back and asked the man who took the order why is it that every week the prices change and why did he tell me it was 13.50 and the delivery boy has a blank paper with 18.50 on it he said pay the 13.50 and it was a mistake . I've been a customer for about 10 years now, and the food goes up and down. Here are the things I learned. 1) Their bacon is cheap and fatty (for years) - don't bother. Their challah french toast is decent and the omelets are pretty good. 2) Their grilled chicken sandwiches are really yummy, but don't get the French onion soup, which is reeaallly over-salted (always). 3) Burgers are good, fries are rarely. 4) Salads are uninspired, vegetables aren't fresh and are most likely squishy, but Romanian steak sandwiches are pretty decent. 5) They're the only diner in the area that delivers. 6) Desserts are pretty good. read more

We are a fan of Oasis. We order from here and go there to eat often. We really love the Chicken Souvlaki and their burgers. Their chicken is not dry and very tasty. With not many diner options left in our neighborhood we are guaranteed a good meal every time. read more

Meh, I've experienced better and it was from Oasis Diner. I don't know what happened to them. They use to be so great. I live not 2 blocks away from them and I'm shocked at how much they've fallen off in such a little time. Since the take over, I had nothing but praise. The best meatloafs, omelets, roasted chicken, hash brown, burgers...name it. Maybe they changed the cook or they got comfortable but they need to go back to "pre-'The Good Wife'" mode. That would be a good start. And the rudeness is beyond compare. My mother won't even let me order for her from Oasis anymore. I have been going here for a few years now and we have always had a good meal anytime of the day. The place is tight and on the older side , but some how they make it work with all the confusion going on. My only issue is that they need to stop nickeling and dimming the customer for small things. Such as curly fries for a $1.00 extra when the meal or sandwich comes with fries or mashed or charging for extra pickles or chick peas on an outgoing order. There prices are not cheap for what they offer so those little things bother me . All in all we go there often and for a local diner the service and food is better then most places Ive been to read more

The food and service is usually good, but today it was so horrible I would not go back. After a long day at work, I ordered a gyro platter, and 2 other orders for the kids. My order was for take out. No white sauce, dry and tasteless feta, the 7 layer cake tasted like mildew. Our take out bill was over $50 for 3 plates and 3 cake slices. So when I called to let them know about my issues with order, the elderly man sounded rough and telling me to bring it back and his cake is never spoiled. I'm tired, ate what I could and will NEVER spend/waste $50+ when there are so many other options. Horrible food, alright service for take out. Probably better as dine in option. read more

Everything about this place is phenomenal. The food, the service, and the bosses are all excellent! It's an open kitchen and they're hopping, yet you do not hear anything, they work so well together. I am writing based on my food to take out and not from sitting down to eat which I'm sure would've made a slight difference but in regards to my order it seemed great, simple and fine when I was reading about my roast beef sandwich. Cheese, onions on a hero with fries. Went for a pick up and everyone was friendly which I won't is an issue in my brief visit. To focus on my reason for writing I had the food to go. I was expecting something better based on reviews let alone from a co-worker telling me about this place. To me was just like any other diner. Nothing special, nothing that I can say I want to rush back, simple. Yes at times simplicity can be good for food but it would need other elements to make it better to enjoy. My bread seemed soggy. Which if food was hot and for take out then lift the lid or small cut to let steam out. The fries were all stuck together like a brick of fries like if they were frozen out of a pack. Not crispy at all. As if fried again from a previous batch. As for the roast beef it was bland.... I mean bland. Granted some feel spices can over power a meal but they are an enhancer. Very little can go a long way. Even if the roast beef had no spices I was surprised even the cooked onions which cooked right can and will add flavor or a mild sweetness but yet it didn't help the cause. I couldn't grasp why but in guessing the roast beef was so bland the lack of flavor Masked everything else even the cheese which did coagulate. I'm debating of sitting down to eat at this place and give it a try. I'm picky indeed but seems the concept of a diner has been long gone to packaged food, profit margins which is fine but why is it so difficult to find that nostalgia of going to a place to taste the care and love that a meal used to have or should have as if you were at home. Seems people lost the love to cook or the passion and just give you whatever is quick and easy like a school cafeteria. Even if pre made or packaged to save monies is understood these days but adding a little attention or addition to the dish can make a difference. I never made home cooked roast beef but if get it a local market I've simply poached it slightly with pepper in water, when almost seems to dry out I add bit more water place it a broiler for a minute or so with a dab of salted butter to give it flavor adding a slight rich crisp and yet not overcooked taste. Simply done in way to add salt and pepper yet adding taste. At times I wish I had resources to open my own place to prove anyone can do this as long as you put time and care for what you do. I am by no means a world renowned chef but spices are basic. People should seem proud like when you go to a fancy dinner. Food is an art, we eat with our eyes yet some places just hand you a plate and it disappoints. Little caring and or lots of love will make an epic difference. Why 2 stars if I found food basic. Holy crap! Am stunned that anyone gave Oasis a good review! We were looking for local place in Maprine Park- and, what a bust! I wouldnt know where to begin on how awful it was! People commented on the little muffins they put out- big deal! They are Entemanns, packaged little muffins. Am sure most people have in their own home. Hubby and me went for breakfast once or twice- was ok..cant really screw up an egg. We decided to have dinner a night. We both ordered something- that- again, hard to screw up. He ordered a cheese burger deluxe- I ordered open face turkey, with veggies. There wasn't a single item that was edible. At first, thought something was bad- and that the rest of the food took on the taste- not true. It was just that lousy! We left our entire plates there- never touched. When waitress came over- I felt bad, (dont know why- she didnt cook it)- but, I said we got a call, and had to leave in a hurry. Paid our bill- and left. Hubby was going to complain- however, our daughters friend works there- and, we didnt want to make it awkward. Left there- and went straight to Brennan and Carr......yummy!!!! read more
