This nail salon is by far my favorite in the city and surrounding areas. I have tried quite a few other salons but I always end up right by back here. Sam and Joanne do an awesome job. They were closed on a whim for an emergency about a month ago and I was forced to do my nails else where (we had a wedding that weekend) and I absolutely hated them. Tuesday was my first visit back here and I'm so glad I got to have my fall nails done. Sam did them this time around. He always does them so meticulously but he makes it look effortless. I tell him what I want and he does it exactly. No crooked nails. No pain. And my gel acrylics don't look or feel gigantic either! Sam is an amazing nail sculptor! Love love love my tri color fall nails. Everyone here does a great job, but make sure you go with Sam or Joanne for your nails. I've never been disappointed when leaving here! If I could give negative stars for this place I would. I made an appt to get a fill and a pedicure and I showed up early. As usual they never get to you exactly when your appt starts you always have to wait. I'm waiting patiently for almost an hour and the man that owns the salon that is doing my nails comes over to me finally and asks me if I picked out a color. I said yes then he walks over to the pedicure chair and turns on the water so naturally I assume that chair is for me. I go over sit in the chair and put my feet and legs in the water. He starts yelling saying the chair isn't for me and proceeds to make me get out of the chair! I could not believe how rude this guy was in front of everyone in the salon. So I tell him that was very rude and he proceeds to make comments under his breath! I explain to him that I had an appt almost an hour ago which included a pedicure. He starts raising his voice saying that I've only been there a half hour. So this guy is not only yelling at me but now he's calling me a liar in front of everyone in the salon. Then because I'm stating the facts he proceeds to tell me he's not doing my nails today and asks me to leave! Wow.... I am still in shock as I write this. This guy is the biggest asshole I've ever met. How do you treat a customer this way!? I can't believe it. Do yourself a favor and find another salon unless you want to wait an hour and then be yelled at and told to leave. This place is a joke. First off, always make an appointment... SAM IS AN ARTIST!!! He's quick but SO GENTLE and precise. I'm such a pain in the butt perfectionist when it comes to my shape and the evenness of the nail and he straight up killed it! I will religiously be coming here from now on. Every other nail salon I've been to in Whittier/La Mirada can't compare to this one. I ALSO SAW A REVIEW THAT SAID SOMEONE GOT CUT HERE- THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME HERE EVER. Customer service is lacking. I walked in for mani/pedis for me and my mini. Only 2 techs available and was told that it would be 5-10 minutes for service. The man who is at the front said he doesn't work on kids so we would have to wait for the woman to work on my daughter. Fair, I guess. I looked for colors on the wall display and was very dryly told the colors available were on the cart. I asked if it also applied to regular polish since my daughter would be getting a regular manicure. I was told yes and when we picked a sparkly pink, I was told that I shouldn't pick from that particular palette because that wasn't gel. I told him that I had asked before for that reason and he rudely asked me if I had a problem. I should have said that I had a problem with his customer service skills but decided not to. After moving me to a chair to do my nails, he proceeded to tell me that it would be 2 hours before my daughter got serviced. I told him that it would just be my nails and to forget about the pedicure. He did my nails which came out good, however attitude means more to me than quality. I will not be going back. read more

I used to come to this nail salon a few years ago when it was owned by someone else. The place I normally go to is closed on Monday's and I was in need of a fill and pedicure. I'm not going to lie, I felt pretty guilty going somewhere else. I must say I was very pleased with how my nails came out. The place I go to doesn't have too many options for nail designs and I've been wanting to try out the ombré style. Found this place on yelp after my usual nail salon had a ridiculous wait time. I had high hopes since it had five stars....came in at noon on a Sunday and the salon was completely dead except for the man and two ladies that worked there. (This review is based solely on his behavior, the women were exceptionally nice and patient) I explained to him exactly how I wanted my nails and when I realized he wasn't doing just that, I let him know. He started muttering under his breath and arguing with me. He was ridiculously rude and was so upset that the woman had to take over. She fixed my nails, which is why they get 3 stars. But the atmosphere was so awkward and uncomfortable after his little fit. Been to this location 2x now and have been extremely happy with everything. Pricing is very reasonable, I call in every time to see if they are available and what the wait time is if they have one. Each time they were available and took me as soon as I walked in. The gel pedicure still looks fresh and it's been a month. I paid $26. I called a place in uptown and they wanted $45. My full set was done exactly like I asked and Sam took the time to shape and re sculpt my nail from the previous person who messed them up. My acrylic with gel came out very natural and not super thick. They have a good quality gel selection, not cheap stuff. He mentioned some brand names he's looking into bringing in the shop for the option of doing just gel instead of acrylics with gel polish. It may be a few dollars more but will look and be a great quality. I'm definitely looking forward to that! It will cut down the time spent to get your full set. When I went in there was about 5 people working. If you don't like waits then definitely call ahead! Update : Quality work, I'm super busy and it's hard for me to fit in anything. This is 4 weeks growth and there is absolutely no lifting on my nails. Sam spoke to me in such a disrespectful manner when I asked him if he could file my nails down a little bit because he makes them a little too thick for my preference. This is my go-to place to do my eyebrows. Joanne does them for me and does either wax or thread depending on what I want when I visit. I love how they always come out and I would recommend this place to friends. Along with getting my eyebrows done, I've taken my girlfriend here a couple times. She loves the work that they do for her nails. I don't really know much about nails but she's always saying how much she adores the manicure and nail designs after she gets them from here. On a different note, although the workers there may seem indifferent on the outside, once you get to know them, they aren't that bad. You have to keep in mind that English is not their first language and it can be difficult for them to communicate with you. Don't be butt hurt after one bad experience with this amazing shop, that would be just irrational. Be considerate of the workers, I'm pretty sure they are trying their best to provide quality service. I know they always do for me. I had been a loyal customer for almost five years and I got yelled at by the owner (Sam) for saying i didn't like how short my nails were. When he cut them, I approved of the length and said I wanted them square. Then, he filed them down to the nub and made them round. Afterwards he said that he filed them all the way down in a manner to shape them, but he did the wrong shape anyway. I asked him POLITELY if he had done round and he got very defensive and proceeded to snap at me in front of store customers. Very disrespectful. Very rude. The male owner is a complete jerk with anger issues. I used to come here about two years ago and every time I came there was an issue with him and he would yell at his coworkers. Every single time I went there was an uncomfortable situation. This place is my grandmas favorite and has been going for years so I decided I'd give it another chance. This time around my grandma, cousin and I ALL had an issue. He is very unprofessional in his responses and how he handles situations. Issue 1: The uv light they use for gel was burning my grandmas fingers and the lady responded "something is wrong with her body if it burns". Being someone who has gotten gel acrylics for about 5 years I know why the light burns and I said why it was burning her. The male responds "what do you know about nails? Do you know more than me?" After this he told my grandma to go with another lady to finish her nails. Honestly a situation I wish I would've recorded. Issue 2: he cut my cousins nails shorter than she asked and when she told him he said it was her fault in an agitated loud voice. Issue 3: Joann did my nails and I wasn't very fond of the design I asked for (just a personal preference). Once she was finished I saw my nails were bubbling and I asked to just remove the gel completely. The male looked at my nails and said there was nothing there and again questions me what I know about nails. We went back and forth and he said some very unprofessional things. It's not a good feeling knowing that the technicians are talking shit about you to their coworkers. I've been getting my nails done for years now and I know exactly what I want. I was recommended this place and had such a bad experience. The guy who did my fill was doing my nails really fast and I had to point out more than a few spots of unevenness (like one nail was clearly longer than the rest of my other nails or how my middle finger was lopsided due to too much powder on one side that didn't get sanded down - he still didn't see it after I told him to even it out). Then he shooed me away to get my design done, where the lady evened it out for the most part. Then she went on to say how it's uneven because my nail beds on one side is skinner than the other. Umm, what??!! What does that have anything to do with my they're uneven! They're uneven cuz he didn't care to check! I'm sorry, but if you're looking for design work you're way better off going to 3D Bella Nails down the street (the lady verbally told me to just go to the original place I got my work done cuz she doesn't know how to do gel design and never heard of people doing that). This review is more so for the manager at Oasis - Sam: So my experience here has gotten worse the last couple of times I have made appointments. Now I no longer work up the street from Oasis Nails, so I drive every few weeks all the way from Long Beach for my appointment. At first it was worth the drive because I knew I would get an awesome set of gel nails in about an hour. The last two appointments have been frustrating, however. Both times, I have been in the middle of my manicure when my manicurist leaves and goes to the back. One time I sat there for 15 minutes without seeing her, only to find out she was in the back doing a wax service on some random customer. I let it go and made another appointment. But, the same thing happened again only I sat unattended for 30 minutes! With half my manicure done, I was ready to walk out the door. AGAIN she was in the back doing a wax service. She kept apologizing and saying that the lady had an appointment, but I too had an appointment and was there for an extra half hour because she double booked me. Then she proceeded with my manicure, rushing so badly that now my nails are chipping after four days. If you are booked, you need to tell customers the correct time to come in. I think that the people who work here are just eager to help everyone so they tell every customer that they can be helped now. They don't realize that there is just three of them working when they tell ten customers that they can have a seat. I would rather be told a later appointment time, then to sit there unattended for so long. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to you guys. Scheduling an appointment is pointless and driving 40 minutes one way for this type of service isn't worth it. read more

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to try this place out because the little plaza its in looks run down and ghetto but my mom told me to give it a try because she had a pedi done there and loved it and the price was cheap. So on my first visit I got a fill and the guy who did my nails was fast, efficient, and perfection. Today I went in with my mom and god daughter and we all got our nails done and love them.
