Lamb kabobs

This restaurant definitely surpassed all of our expectations! It was amazing! All the food was so fresh and flavorful and the owner/chef and his wife who sat us and served our meals were so sweet and welcoming. She took the time to explain the different dishes and asked what our preferences were - whether we liked sweet or savory, spicy or mild and depending on our answers gave us suggestions on what to order. Definitely recommend the Oasis sampler appetizer which was delicious. One of our favorite things was the lentil soup that was SO flavorful and wonderful! My husband got the whole fish which was the local rock fish and said it was amazing! A couple of us had the lamb kabobs that were so tender and flavorful. We were so full we couldn't eat dessert BUT we took some home-made baklava and their home- made ice cream to go and ate it later! Those were absolutely fantastic!! You really need to eat here. You won't be disappointed!

2/18/23 I don't know if it was an off night for them, but it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. A couple that had ordered before us got tired of waiting and were halfway out the door when their food met them as they were leaving. We were told our food was being made next, which made me question their time management in the kitchen. I did over hear our server tell the table next to us that this is the first busy weekend in a long time and that last Saturday, they had only 4 tables. Tonight, it's a full house. The food was delicious. Both the lamb and chicken were tender without being dry. I didn't care for the bread. It was hard, dense, and cold. Don't come here if you're in a hurry and bring your patience.

What a beautiful family owned restaurant! We sat at a window side table to watch the gorgeous sunset while we dined-- very romantic! (The patio was closed) The staff shared their family stories and connection to the food, a nice authentic touch. But the food topped all of that! Just incredible! The Fallafel was a generous amount for two-- I could taste the seasoned mashed chickpeas, and enjoyed the exterior crunch-- definitely a superb house-made recipe! I struggled choosing my vegetarian entree (so many options), but went with Couscous Royale-- a dish for the senses, served in a plate that kept it steaming hot until I moved the leftovers to a takeaway box-- impressive! This was such a memorable dinner to end our trip to Pismo!

Excellent Lamb Kebab and beef shanks. We are glad to take chef's recommendations to try the Moroccan tea, it was slightly minty and sweet, so delightful. The bread was God-sent, not the usual flatbreads, much more substantial and doughy.

Moroccan mint tea

Delicious & generous portions Loved my spicy salmon with honey sauce & lots of veggies. Great flavors and nice ambiance, the Moroccan tea was great!

First timer review, really liked the location. The view from the main dining room is beautiful. The decor authentic. The outdoor patio is very nice and there is plenty of seating space. I ordered the Honey chicken platter. This dish was delicious! The bread was yummy. The meals are prepared to order so there is a bit of a wait. I also ordered the cucumber salad. Fresh greens with red cabbage and cucumbers with a nice Vinaigrette dressing. I enjoyed my first visit. Next time I'll bring a bottle of wine with me. They have a liquor license but currently not offering this service. It's nice to have a variety of restaurants on Price Street. I recommend the Oasis for your next meal.

Kabobs

From the very beginning the first thing they brought us was a lentil soup. It was absolutely amazing. I loved the Lamb au Garlic. As if that wasn't good enough we had chocolate covered baklava and some of their signature ice cream. It was amazing. Come here, you will not regret it.

Moroccan Lentil Soup, Bastilla, and Mint Tea

This is one of those places that are an experience not just a meal. Go when you have the time to enjoy the company you are with, watch the sunset and savor every mouthful of food. It is NOT an order, eat and out in 30 minutes kind of place. We ordered as an appetizer Bastilla; made with almonds and phyllo dough. It's so good we were tempted to eat all five pieces, but we knew there were more delights to come. Next was the Morrocan Lentil Soup. Delicately spiced soup with lentils and chickpeas. Again, we wanted more but knew the entrees were still to come. Beef Potato Tagine, and Lamb Mkela were our entree choices. Both meats were melt in your mouth flavorful. Accompanied by rice and bread that was just made for sopping up the gravy from the meat. Easily overlooked in the wealth of seafood and clam chowder places Pismo Beach is known for, it's a destination worth exploring. You won't be disappointed.

Never had Moroccan food before. Highly recommend the Moroccan mint tea. I'm vegan and got the Tagine D'atlas. A word of advice if you hate cilantro like me. They make to order so request that they leave it out. I could tell it would have been really delicious without it. Also request that they leave the added cilantro out of the lentil soup. It was excellent even with a little cooked into it but had my spouse eat the top layer which had additional cilantro added. She had the honey chicken and couldn't stop raving about how good it was. The service was also great.

Moroccan tea. Nutty flavor, delicious we ordered two

Ask the Community - Oasis Restaurant & Catering

Hey, is the meat (lamb and chicken) still halal?

Chicken is definitely not halal, they use machine cut chicken if I recall correctly. We tried the Moroccan Fish and some other Fish. That turned out much better than if we had consumed halal chicken (hand slaughtered).…

Dog friendly patio?

Yes

Is the meat halal?

Lamb and chicken breast.

Does the staff wear masks?

I took food to go, but while I was there, all of the employees I saw had masks on properly, and they were following safety protocols

Is there a full bar?

Bring you own beer or wine at no corkage fees.

Is breakfast menu served all day?

Unfortunately, the whole restaurant was booked out for a private event the only evening we had available. Thankfully, they were still taking takeout orders. They were a bit busy with the private event, and so they had forgotten to give us one of our bags of food (which we didn't realize was missing until we got back to our hotel), but the staff made up for it by delivering the remainder of our food to us! The food was very tasty and the service was top notch. I would love to return if I'm ever back in Santa Barbara.

The greenery, courtyard setting, and relaxed atmosphere make it an enjoyable place to settle in and enjoy a meal. I ordered the Mashawi Combo, which included lamb, beef, and chicken. All three meats were cooked nicely, with each offering its own distinct flavor and texture. My favorite was the beef because it had a satisfying char. It's a great option if you're having trouble deciding between proteins and want to sample a little bit of everything. What really elevated the meal were the accompanying spreads and sides. The baba ghannouj was smoky and creamy, while the garlic sauce added a rich punch of flavor to the grilled meats. The hummus was smooth, and the tabbouli provided bright, herbaceous contrast that balanced the heavier elements of the meal. One of the highlights for me was the pistachio spread. It was refreshingly different from the usual mezze offerings and paired wonderfully with the warm bread. The addition of pomegranate seeds also brought a burst of sweetness and acidity that made each bit refreshing. The only minor drawback was some confusion regarding my reservation because they couldn't find it even though I called, which created a bit of uncertainty at the start of the evening. Fortunately, the staff handled the situation professionally and remained attentive throughout the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with a chill ambiance.

The chicken shwarma sandwich was the perfect afternoon bite; very filling but in a healthy way. It's connected to a coffee shop/bakery and the whole place smells amazing. The food is on the pricier side but the portions are generous. Nothing was bad, but most of the food isn't spiced as much as I'd like for mediterranean food. What I liked: The bread fluffy and delicious. The babaghanoush The pickled veggies The croutons on the fattoush (big, crunchy, yummy) What was ok: The chicken plate was ok. Cabbage was bland and the chicken/rice was missing flavor as well. Also comes with a generous side of hummus which I think needed more lemon and garlic. Fattoush... i liked the croutons and the freshness of the veggies but the dressing could be stronger. The dip trio ... the babaghanoush was good, but the lebneh wasn't sour enough. The whipped feta was sweet which wasn't bad but didnt go with the other flavors. Overall there was nothing wrong with this place. Food is plentiful and fresh, but I think I have a higher standard for mediterranean food, so this didn't hit it for me. Stay Cheerful

We also brought our own wine, and the $20 per bottle corkage fee was very reasonable. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was an unusual odor. We couldn't tell if it was because of the older building near the ocean or something from the kitchen. It seemed to disappear once we were seated, but we noticed it again when walking toward the restrooms. It didn't ruin our evening, but it was something that stood out. Service was a little mixed. My husband has a dairy allergy, so he began by asking what came with the Kurobuta pork chop and which of the sides contained dairy. The server seemed hesitant and mentioned that the chef doesn't like to change his menu, even though my husband hadn't asked for any substitutions. After some back-and-forth, the server suggested placing the pork chop on a separate plate from the sides, which was what my husband had been trying to ask for all along. Most restaurants are quick to suggest simple ways to accommodate food allergies, so the interaction felt more complicated than it needed to be. That said, the food itself was very good. The Beef Tataki was one of my favorite dishes of the evening--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Everything we ordered was well executed, but dessert ended up stealing the show. The Loft Brownie was absolutely delicious, and my niece and I loved every bite. My husband was equally excited that they offered a dairy-free chocolate ice cream, which he really enjoyed. Overall, I can see why Oyster Loft is recommended for seafood, but for us it didn't quite live up to the hype. With so many wonderful restaurants in Pismo Beach still on our list to try, I don't think we'll be making a return visit any time soon.
