A search for restaurants with oysters led us to Mirazur. Was a fantastic meal. The Blue Points on the half shell did not disappoint. We are also a huge fan of duck and their French-style duck was cooked to perfection. The rack of lamb was tasty as well. We finished with the pistachio crème brûlée and enjoyed every bite. The wine list is limited but they offer a low-cost corkage fee. Our server was super nice and inside the dining room was bright and clean. They also offer bayside patio dining, which we passed on due to the wind/cold, but seemed like it would be lovely on a warmer night. Overall, a great experience. Definitely recommend! read more

The service was Excellent. Could not have asked for better quality service. This is the first time we went for ( so called early meal) We both had the regular egg Benedict. Really was not impressed with the food at all. Sauce tasted tangy, hardly any Canadian bacon, too much bread and most potatoes were burnt. We were really looking forward to dinner but was really disappointed food was just OK, we went on a SATURDAY 7pm the restaurant had only two other tables which left 10 min,s after we were seated. The food was excellent as were the cocktails and wine. So last time I was at this restaurant I saw that they had lunch. So I made reservations for 5, 2 girls having a birthday, which I so noted. We got there and e were the only ones there. They put two tables to get her for us and the atmosphere was great. I asked for separate checks, was told no, only one. Thats where it ended. We were asked what we wanted to drink and it was said back to us. Then I received the wrong drink, had to replace. I ordered pastrami and was told oh, we are out of that and something else. So I ordered a patty melt. It was not on very good bread, the fries were good though. One ordered as lobster, avocado appetizer.. Later server came back that don't have that either. Chicken and waffles, my friend said the chicken was all breading and waffles had something sweet added to them. We had to flag down the server for more drinks, ketchup, he never came back to ask how things were. Finally went and asked for the bill, then had to find home again to pay. Great service at this location! It was our first time eating at Mirazur and we decided on brunch. The menu wasn't super extensive, but there seem to be something for everyone with a focus on interesting spins on traditional breakfast classics as well as seafood. My friend ordered the seafood eggs, Benedict, and found that it was a little too fishy for her and she was offered something else immediately by our server who was very attentive and polite. I chose an omelette and thought it was delicious. I didn't snap any photos, but will on my next trip. The setting is right on the water in Los Osos. I would've liked to have had a little bit of micro green garnish or something else just to take the food up to the next level from the perspective and presentation. We were big fans of Blue Heron which was the restaurant that previously occupied the Mirazur space, and we're happy to see that life had been brought back to the location. We booked a table for 2 on a Sunday night. We were seated quickly and were happy to see that the restaurant still has its cozy charm. The main difference that I noticed is that they did away with the chefs table where you could watch all of the action in the kitchen. While we were disappointed to learn that they did not have a full bar, with their "cocktails" being wine based, we opted for a couple of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc instead. For food we had: Bread Service Crudo starter Salmon main Scallops main Everything was tasty and we were happy with everything we ordered. This will be a three part review.. haha Let's start with ambiance, a perfect jewel in the center of Baywood Park on the pier. Picturesque property with bayside view. Plenty of patio spaces fire place and pits, also space heaters where necessary. Gardens with local wildflowers succulents and trees. The dining room is warm inviting and contemporary casual. I am so happy to have this hidden gem here in Los Osos! I am quite impressed by the Chef. I have had the octopus appetizer, the crispy, roasted brussels sprouts and the most exquisite little loin lamb chops several times. I've been so delighted each time I have dined here. Waiter was super nice and on it I think his name was Alan. Kitchen staff messed up our order 3 times after having to wait a long time for the food. We also looked over and saw a male kitchen staff try the food with his bare hands and a female employee looking not so happy the dish had to be sent back again. read more

We ate here while staying at the Back Bay Inn. Bottles of wine are half off on Wednesdays. We all had Cesar salads. The dressing was bright and delicious. My daughter had the pesto pasta with roasted tomatoes and nearly cleaned her plate. I had the lobster tail and my husband had the salmon. Portion sizes were perfect, they were both wonderful and the carrots served with both entrees were so good I would have eaten an entire plate. We ended with the ice cream pie and left very happy. If we lived in the area we'd be frequenting often and will be back next time we're staying here. read more

The Roasted Artichoke with lemon and aioli was fantastic, and much needed as the kitchen was busy with a large group...at least the waiter warned us that things were backed up. The Roasted Artichoke gave us something to eat while waiting for our dinner (and dessert that ultimately never materialized...more on that later). The seared lemon was perfect on the artichoke. Tonight we ordered the French Style Duck and the Chicken Picata. The sauce on the duck was velvety smooth and luscious, and was a perfect match for the rosemary potatoe fingers and crisp-tender whole carrots. The duck was good, but it was the most chewy-tough duck I had ever had. The Chicken Picata was tender and very lemony, and was nicely done along with the crisp-tender carrots. The chicken was fork tender. Why not 5 stars? Well, we were looking forward to the Pistachio Creme Brulee, and we were advised AFTER dinner that they were out of all desserts except ice cream! How can a nice restaurant be out of a signature dessert? I wish the waiter had advised us regarding dessert before we ordered an appetizer as we might have elected to order differently or maybe go somewhere else. So the missing dessert options and tough duck reflect the three star rating. read more

Friendly and efficient service. Inside dining is very cute. The tuna appetizer tasted only of lime and it didn't come with crisps to eat it with. So it was just a fork of strong lime flavored fish and avocado. Got the halibut, huge serving of fish which was a bonus but it wasn't very flavorful. Had to add salt and pepper to give it something. And I normally never use the table salt on my dishes. Chocolate ball dessert was fabulous. For the price of this place I excepted more from the food. Corkage fee is $20. Waived if you buy one of their bottles of wine. They have a cocktail menu but it's all wine based drinks. Not a full bar restaurant. I would defo check it out for breakfast/lunch. read more

We've been here a few times now and have had similar experiences each time, no matter brunch, lunch, or dinner. Mediocre service and mediocre food. First time we came on a weeknight for a date night dinner. There were only a handful of tables occupied, unfortunately one of which was occupied by the waiter's boyfriend. Not only did our waiter not recall the special correctly, as we overheard her saying the correct one a few minutes later, but she would frequently go over and visit with her friend while we were waiting on beverage refills. We ordered duck and the lamb with pork gyoza as suggested by her as an appetizer. The Gyoza was quite good, decent portion. Duck was okay, a bit dry somehow, but decent flavor and texture. The lamb was hilariously over seasoned and sauced completely ruined the meat. Both of our entrees came out luke warm as well. It is sad when the side veg of asparagus seems to be the highlight of the meal. Well, we had heard mixed reviews on dinner so decided to try lunch and brunch. Equally if not more disappointing. Our waiter was friendly and quick, but immediately took a sour turn when we requested a modification to my lunch. After that, basically no service, no follow up, and apparently had no interest in collecting money as we had to track him down to settle our bill. Thankfully the busser kept an eye on us and our beverages. That waiter shouldn't be working the tables if he takes offense to a change to our order to the point that he ghosts us the rest of our meal. Chilaquiles were delicious, but no more so than our local mexican restaurants, yet more expensive with about 1/4-1/3 the portion size, what a joke. Lunch was a similar experience, same waiter who seems friendly at first but immediately turns cold on you with any sort of follow up request. If we come again, we'll have to request someone else. Thankfully the lunch food is quite good as we had heard. Calamari and chips are great, nice light breading, not greasy, good crunch and tender calamari. Burger was cooked perfectly with a bit of pink in the middle. Lunch is the way to go, but it is a shame that this was supposed to be our nice restaurant in Baywood and they can't execute good service or food the rest of the day. That on top of the news of them being shut down for an infestation doesn't surprise me since this place seems poorly managed. We'll probably give it another shot to support local, but its hard to consider after all of the negatives we've experienced. read more

We came here for a work dinner as we were staying at the bed-and-breakfast across the street during our retreat. Everything was absolutely perfect. Service was friendly, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was charming. We went on wine Wednesday - any bottle of wine less than $100 was 50% off. I had the fillet, my husband had the rack of lamb and both were delicious. I'm not certain of everything that my colleagues got but everyone enjoyed their dish. The bread service was absolutely delicious as well. We got the cheesecake, the cheesecake and crust was good, however, the raspberry sauce was not my favorite. Overall I would recommend if you are in the area and looking for something a little more upscale, try it out. We will be back when we are in the area. read more

I had my elopement dinner here with 13 people, and the entire experience was incredible. I even had to add a few guests at the last minute, and they were so easygoing and accommodating about everything. Making the reservation was simple, the food was amazing, and everything came out right on time. The service truly stood out. We also did a cake gender reveal, and the staff went above and beyond to help make it special. They stored the cake for us while we ate, brought it out at the perfect moment for us to cut it, then took it back and served individual slices to each guest. They even packed up the remaining cake into to-go boxes for everyone. They truly made my wedding dinner and gender reveal feel special, seamless, and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend dining here or hosting any small event. It was the best choice we could have made. 10/10! read more

I came here for a solo dinner on my birthday and the ambiance truly is special. The music, decor, location gives major coastal grandmother aesthetics and I felt like I was in a Nancy Meyers movie. I've been here three times since and each time the patrons at the other tables are so nice and always strike up a conversation. The food is delicious. I don't commend the crudo though it was a bit fishy. But the mushroom pappardelle, lamb and octopus are delightful. Don't skip the bread service! read more

Great location with a beautiful view of the bay and some amazing ambiance. List of wine and beer had plenty to choose from as well as spirit based cocktails. Had a hard time debating on sitting on the patio or next to the roaring fireplace but elected for the patio with the beautiful weather we were having that night. Started out with some oysters that were perfectly shucked and presented beautifully. Decided on the duck and the filet mignon. Both were expertly cooked and presented.
