    A few tables inside.

Quick, fast, and simple. Really good sushi for a great price. They have a few tables inside so you can dine in, but this is a great option for take out if you're in a hurry, especially over on 16th street since most the food options are dine in establishments.

Food was tasty and visually appealing. Stopped by after seeing the good reviews. Service was ok, only one guy taking orders in the front and one guy in the back. Nothing fancy about the decor. Good for a quick asian fix at a decent price

For a simple and unplanned excursion, Obento was a pleasant surprise! We found some cheap parking near 16th Street Mall and looked up sushi places. Obento looked good so we gave it a go. The menu isn't overwhelming which is great; you have a limited but varied selection, basically sushi, ramen, & teriyaki, plus some typical appetizers. We ordered spam musubi and a couple of sushi rolls. The spam musubi was the best I've had from a restaurant (I SWEAR)! This is the real deal y'all, try it! And the sushi was so tasty! You could taste every ingredient in the Nuggets roll; just perfect! We also had the shrimp tempura roll and it was wonderful as well. Do your part to help bring the 16th Street Mall back to its glory days and visit Obento. You won't be disappointed!

I didn't know what to expect as we just walked into the place hoping for some sushi and a visit with friends. It was a great meal. I was quite happy. You get a good portion for your money. It was hot and tasty. Both needed on a cold day. I felt full, but not overly so. The place seems small, but there were a bunch of tables and people came and went for orders of take out all evening long. I will be back for sure, and would recommend. Actually I did recommend it today to a friend for lunch.

Found this place right by 16th & California train station. And what a find! The sushi is fresh and inexpensive. I took a picture - that's a lot of maki for $18! I will not walk away hungry. It is lunch time Sunday and the place isn't busy. Everything is clean and nice, not fancy, but not shabby either. Just the sort of place to have some sushi and relax for a time while in downtown. Luis at the counter is super nice, friendly and shares joy with his smile. My new go-to spot.

Quick service. Not especially friendly but got the job done. They have about 8 or 10 tables. The Philly and shrimp tempura rolls were fresh and tasted good.

We visited Oberti for sushi on a Friday afternoon, and it was a great experience. It wasn't busy, and the atmosphere was relaxed with nice music playing. We ordered the spam musubi, shrimp tempura roll, and the Nuggets roll. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! The spam musubi was a generous portion and had an authentic flavor. The standout for us was the Nuggets roll -- packed with flavor and so good! If you're looking for a quick, tasty sushi spot in downtown Denver, definitely check this place out!

Did not realize Obento on the 16th Street also have unagi don. The unagi don here was more traditional, with only unagi and a few pieces of danmuji (yellow pickled radish) over the white rice, compared to the poke style in both Kyoto Ramen and Poke Club. Simple, but delicious. They also had freshly made sushi, ramen, bento, bowls, poke and a variety of starters, as well as Japanese snacks and drinks. The restaurant was bright and neat, and the minimalist setting was quite similar to the food stands at the Tokyo subway stations. Despite the ongoing construction outside, I was surprised to see many dine-in and take-out patrons during lunch hours, not to mention it was one of the few surviving restaurants right on the Street.

Satisfied customer; I will always recommend this business. The menu is easy to understand, the service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is sleek and simple. The sushi was fresh and presented very tastefully. My guest and I enjoyed people watching from the front windows while munching on some high quality sushi. Wonderful job Obento!

Chicken curry bento box to go

This location is small. You may need to order for takeout or make sure to grab a seat as you enter if you have more than one person in your party. You order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called. The main star is the food. It is cooked made to order and everything that came out looked particularly delicious. I ordered the chicken curry bento box to go. It carried well back to my hotel and it was incredibly tasty, refreshing and filling. I had thought the prices were a little on the steeper side when it came to lunch but when I saw the amount of food that I received, I felt like it was justified. Great place for lunch!

Unagi Don- steamed white rice, topped with eel, and yellow radishes!

Service was great, restaurant is very clean, the prices are awesome, and the food was good! My husband got the Maki bento which had 24 little pieces of sushi and the fish was fresh and good. I got the Unagi Don...it was yummy but next time I need more yellow radish!

I was in Denver to visit my friend, and I was telling her how I really liked hand rolls and so she recommended this place and it did not disappoint. We got here during happy hour when at first opened and immediately there was already a line luckily we were early so we did get seated a few minutes after arriving, and we were served relatively quickly. We got to sit at the bar and we ordered off of the happy hour menu, which was great because it had more than enough of what I wanted to try. We got several hand rolls and several of their other appetizers, but my favorite has to be their hand rolls. Their seaweed was so crispy and rolled so nicely. The rice was flavorful and their fish was so fresh. I felt like their prices were also pretty reasonable and I was more than content after having that dinner. Overall, I would put this very much on par with a place called Kazunori in LA. We thought we made a mistake choosing sushi bar instead of a table because we'll have back issues. Surprisingly, the chairs had a mini back so you could lean back occasionally. And we think our experience was better because the sushi chefs would explain the origin of the fish and all the ingredients they used into each roll and order. We also got a complimentary piece for sitting at the sushi bar which was a light fried yellow tail which was so good. Service is amazing. They're attentive and check in on you often. It does take some time to get your rolls but give its time to digest. From watching the sushi chefs at the bar, they're very precise in how they make each roll. Every roll has similar proportions from the slight wasabi they use to the amount of rice and fish. Everything that we had was amazing. The hamachi and salmon sashimi felt like butter. It just melts in your mouth. The aged toro was so delicious. Even the edamame was just so good. The unagi nigiri is some of the best I've had in the state (the nigri was better than the handroll and I think it's because I love unagi so I love the ratio in nigiri form). The Spicy Tuna Oshizushi was a surprising favorite of the night along with the Crème Fresh Salmon Belly. I could've done without the wagyu but it was good. Every order does come with only 1 so order based on the amount of people that are with your party. Some items we were unsure of like the wagyu so we ordered 1 and shared a bite. Overall, I understand the hype and the reservations. But it was worth it and I'm surprised we can get high quality fish in a landlock state. Of the high end sushi restaurants in CO, Temaki Den is probably my fave.
