A very cool concept! Car service garage from the '50s turned burger & fries restaurant. We loved looking around at all of the car parts, the garage doors, the pictures on the wall from back in the day. Our server was so sweet & had great energy! Her smile was warm & she made me want to stay. My husband & I were in town for a couple of days & this place was right down the street from our hotel. We walked to Obi's for dinner. Reviews were great. Our hopes were high. We both ordered our burgers with cold slaw & fries. The fries and cold slaw we would highly recommend. The burgers, not so much. One word for that poor burger who wanted so bad to be juicy & star of the show. Dry. The burger took a back seat to the fries. And that my friends, is a shame. read more

Great atmosphere. Really fun. Fast service and the food was all pretty good. But the drinks only come in half sizes. We ordered coffee and it came in a small styrofoam cup and it was only half full. The same was the case for both glasses or orange juice. We got charged for 2 drinks each when we asked for a full cup. Had it 3 for that and the food was pretty good but nothing special at all. Loved it! Adorably well executed theme...I grew up in the auto parts industry, so this place was super exciting for me. Every time I turned my head I looked at some sort of name brand logo or car part that I recognized. I didn't expect much by way of the quality of food because it was gimmicky, but the food really was very good and extremely fairly priced. The service was very good. No real complaints. I usually don't order burgers but we were recommended to try this place while in St. Augustine so we did since it was on our way home. I figured burgers were the specialty here and we did have a 2 hour ride back to Orlando so I thought it would be filling. My husband saw the Fire Engine which had me at avocado and jalepeno so I ordered that too. It also comes with pepper jack cheese and their signature sauce and a side of thick cut fries. My husband ordered his with bacon, I went without. The burger was fantastic, cooked perfectly medium, the cheese was melty, the avocado and jalepenos were fresh, the onions sauteed and the signature sauce tied everything together. The fries were hot and fresh with a nice crisp and also came with a side of their signature sauce. Definitely would recommend that burger and the place to anyone visiting St. Augustine Beach as this place is right on A1A. read more

So when the side of their building says "8am-8pm", and there's not anything different posted on their doors; and they say "breakfast", even including a breakfast-special sign,..... --- then when I get there at 8:15, they're not open, and some worker is apparently doing things but refuses to acknowledge some knocking on the door,.... --- then they aren't very good at serving customers, and I consider them to lie in their "advertising" of hours. Very cool atmosphere right on the beach plenty of automobile signs and memorabilia. Fabulous service & good prices - that's the good... The food was really just OK. I had the airbag which is a four egg omelette with cheese tomato and ham, which was accompanied by one piece of rye toast and some not so good grits. It is advertised that this is a four egg omelette I'm not sure if those are robins eggs that they are using - because it was a small omelette. I washed it all down with watery orange juice out of a machine... not impressed & I left with a greasy After taste in my mouth from whatever the omelette was cooked in. Heard lots of really awesome things about this place. Plus their menu looked great. We were also really interested in getting one of their famous Bloody Marys. Super small parking lot, but we scored a spot right up front - felt like a good sign! Then we were seated right away, another good sign! We ordered three Bloody Marys, they came super quick and were delicious. Here is where it went south. We ordered straight from the menu, no deviation. Two Chevy Impalas with sides of bacon. One breakfast sandwich with corned beef hash. It took a really lonnnnnng time for it to come out, but we were really enjoying our Bloodys so we were cool. When they did come out, they delivered the Impalas, and the waitres told us that the bacon was inside the sandwiches instead of on the side. Um, ok. And she told our third member that she was just told there was no more corned beef hash but they would gladly make her anything else on them. She ordered the Bentley and was told they were out of ham, so she substituted bacon. No problem. When I looked at my Impala, I noticed there was no chorizo inside...my friend looked at hers, same deal. The waitress was very nice, took both of them back and brought sides of bacon. So we are waiting again for three meals. Had second round of bloody marys. They ran out of jalapenos. Ok, no problem. So, they bring our new breakfasts. Barely any chorizo. No cheese. The waitress explains to us that she doesnt normally work breakfast. These are menu items. We are not asking for anything out of the ordinary. I'm very disappointed to write this review based off other reviews and pictures I was hoping for a home run. I made my way into the Fillin' Station for lunch. The staff was efficient and friendly. They quickly took my order. I ordered a burger (which seemed to be what they were known for). To my dismay, the burger itself was very bland and lacked any flavor to it. The beef itself didn't taste fresh to me what-so-ever more like a frozen patty from the local grocery store. The fries I ordered as my side and they are big and thick. Mine were completely undercooked. Most of mine were so undercooked it tasted as though I was biting into a raw potato. The seasoning used on the fries I enjoyed. All and all, for the price I will probably not head back there. There are much better burgers near this area I've had for half the price I paid. The restaurant itself was cutely decorated as an old gas station and car garage with oldies music playing. The ambience was a beachy , relaxing feel. The staff were very friendly. 5 star burger joint! The beefy big block was filled with brisket, smoked perfectly, juicy and tender but with black bits! Cheese and the Obi sauce all made it even tastier. We visited Obi's for (what we thought was gonna be) a quick and easy takeout around 6pm, simply because it was near our hotel. The staff (2 cooks and 1 server/host) looked super overworked and tired, and naturally they didn't seem thrilled to be serving us. I would say don't expect top notch service or friendliness when you walk into this restaurant. After placing the order and waiting for about 20-30 minutes for our two burgers and fries, we finally got our food. The patties were severely overcooked and the Obi sauce was missing on both burgers. They were dry and bland. Not worth the money ($12 for a basic 1/2lb cheese burger + some fries) or the treatment you get. Maybe the management will see this review and do something about hiring some more help and thus making their restaurant a more pleasurable experience for their employees and customers. read more

Came down to the area looking for a house and stumbled across this gem. First coming in the hostess/girls were a bit standoffish. We got seated and our waiter dude came out. A St. Augustine local that was just as friendly as you'd expect from this area. He guided us to some areas that were up and coming to buy in. So off we will go. The dining area is a bit muggy so come expecting to be a bit muggy. Not sure if misters would make it better or worse. That's the only complaint I would have here. The food is huge! This place was smaller than I expected. I would compare it more to a Five Guys than a Ruby Tuesday. It was also slightly more expensive then I expected. With that said, we felt that these burgers were excellent. My 11 year old daughter devoured her quarter pounder and was a little upset that I didn't get her a half pound burger. Obi's is a quirky fun place. Easy walk from the beach. You walk in its confusing,like you are in the kitchen prep area, but then you are seated in the fun dining area, full of old automobile memorabilia. We started off with homemade sweet bread with honey butter, then an appetizer of Lug Nuts, deep fried corn with yummy dipping sauce. My son had the Buggati burger, served on a fresh pretzel roll. I had the Mustang burger. Both burgers were huge and very tasty! We could only finish half the burgers and took the rest for a hearty snack. In summary, drop your diet at the door. Very disappointed. We're locals, & This used to be one of our favorite spots. We made as far as the entrance. Not one staff member wearing a mask. Cooks should wear one when it's NOT a pandemic. We loved this place so much we went back the next day! Husband had the Corvette again and it was consistently good. I wanted the Big Block but the brisket wasn't ready yet so I had the Pink Beetle (black bean veggie burger). It was quite good. It had pieces of corn, onions and peppers in it. Wish it had more avocado, though. Mine had very little. Still, it was delicious. I got the truffle Parmesan on my fries. Tasted like regular Parmesan but still tasty. Can't wait to come back to St. Augustine so we can eat here again. Maybe the brisket will be ready next time because it smelled so good. read more

In town visiting our daughter over spring break, we decided to take a break from motel buffet fare and try this. Located on the beach in a former filing station, the ambiance is family- friendly. One would think that, with breakfast served until 10:30, most options would be available at 10 am. We ordered the pancakes... no bananas available (the menu states that the pancakes are "layered" with peanut butter and bananas). Meat options of bacon, sausage or ham... out of bacon. Tried to choose the breakfast burrito option with chorizo... no chorizo left. There's a Publix not even a mile away... surely bananas, bacon and/or chorizo could be purchased there? 3 pancakes, a side of ham, a side sausage, a side of strawberries in place of bananas, 2 milks and a coffee for $35, including tip?
