I was excited to go try this place out. But my excitement was short lived. No one ever mentions reviews on the parking lot which I find a huge part of a restaurant, this one was tiny. Very hard to get in and out of. Also the restaurant itself had a cool theme. No much seating but on a weeknight it was ample enough. Onto the food. I ordered a basic cheese burger and added a fried egg and bacon to it. My wife ordered the "fire truck" without chipotle seasonings and avocado. Mine arrived without bacon and hers with avocado. They also didn't have any ketchup bottles. Which was weird so we got those little foil packets that takes 10 packets to make a dent in your food. The food tasted good. Had good flavor. Just wish it had bacon. Our waitress was nice but just wasn't on her game. She kept forgetting things we'd ask for. And flicked someone off as she was taking our order. Which was very inappropriate. Overall I wouldn't make a special trip back here. If I happened to be in the area and craving a burger I'd stop in possibly. read more

We ordered three different hamburgers - all three were ordered medium but arrived fairly dry and somewhat tasteless. The meat was so "blah", I would not be surprised if they were previously frozen. The french fries, although they looked very appetizing, were somewhat under-cooked and disappointing. On the other hand, the Fried Cheesecake was very tasty. The service was painfully slow, but friendly. We are always looking for great burger-joints, but sadly, this is not one of them. read more

This place is so yummy!! I went 3 times in 24 hrs!!!! Dinner was a kielbasa on a toasted bun with onions and green peppers. The fries need to be crisped up a bit more for my liking. The Obi sauce is outstanding!!! Then back the next morning for their breakfast. And it too was fabulous...the grits were actually very good. Oh and the chocolate cake is truly divine. So much fun! You will definitely get filled at Obi's ;) The corn "Lug Nuts" were off-the-charts, as well as the "Cadillac chips". It was very hard to choose the main course since they have a bit of everything. This is a place that everyone in your party can find something to eat. We all chose burgers and could taste the difference with the super fresh bread and juicy hamburger patties. Their fries are in between thin fries and steak fries with the perfect amount of creamy potato in the middle. YUM! Really well done car "theme" based restaraunt with good food and good service. There is usually no wait and the dining room is bright and upbeat. The food is creative, fresh and flavorful. All dishes are named after automotive terms and nicknames. Its a fun place if your at the beach and want to grab a bite. Prices are fair and they have something for everyone. read more

We just finished another great meal at Obi's. We love the 50's automotive decor but really love the food. This time we started with the Cadillac Chips and they were excellent. A good size helping of chips covered with bacon and tangy lumps of blue cheese. drizzled with Vino Cotto. After the appetizer, my wife was already getting full so she opted for a bowl of chili as her meal. It's a very tasty, thick, tomato based chili loaded with large chunks of prime rib. Clearly homemade from a family recipe. This time I had the Deuce which is two half pound burgers on a bun with cheese and fixin's of your choice. I like it medium rare with just onions. It doesn't disappoint in taste or size!!!!!!! Super juicy and yes it can be messy but boy is it worth it. It also comes with oversized fries, seasoned to perfection. I like mine well done and they are very accommodating and will prepare the burgers and fries to you liking. Most items are $10 or less with a few higher but most much lower. I've tried several different items from their menu and all have been excellent but I keep going back to their burgers because of the high quality and the great taste of the meat. However, I can personally recommend, the pastrami on rye, sausage & peppers on the sub roll and the grouper sandwiches as great choices as well. The wait staff is very attentive, always offering refills on drinks. This time we had Jillian and she was excellent. Maybe we ordered the wrong stuff. I had the Barracuda - blackened grouper wrap with tropical salsa and avocado. The blackening seasoning was horrifically salty and the wrap was on the small side. My stomach hates me three hours later (heartburn and woosie). The homemade chips were fabulous. My daughter had the chicken fingers for kids and she wouldn't eat them - said they reminded her of Wendy's chicken nuggets. I tasted one and the chicken was the processed kind - formed pattie type - kind of cardboard consistency. My son had the Maserati and he liked it - no complaints. My husband had the poke bowl and said it was horrible. The tomatoes in the bowl were mushy and old. The fish wasn't very fresh for poke. I love the atmosphere and like I said, I probably should have tried a burger - I just wasn't in the mood for one. The wait staff was great. Food came out fast. We went here because several other places we wanted to go to specifically for seafood, were packed, and we had hungry kids. read more

My kids loved the decor and the waitress was really awesome about bringing the kids food out as soon as it was ready. I had the blackened tuna sandwich which was amazing! The guys had burgers which they said were more well done than they would of liked. Slushes were so so. I also had the sea salt caramel shot dessert which everyone enjoyed - it was like the inside of a chocolate caramel candy bar.. Thumbs up overall.. By far the worst meal we had on vacation. We arrived about 5:30 to find a sparse crowd and one waitstaff. Before seating we were in the foyer area where we could see into the kitchen. While everyone was waiting since no one was being served and no one coming in was being seated, we saw someone come into the kitchen with a plastic tube of cheap ground turkey which they dropped on the floor. After waiting at our table for 10 minutes we got a set of menus and waited for someone to take our order. Food showed up about 10 minutes after that and was very greasy. Everything was deep fried. While we waited for our food other diners were not getting anything. Another group of 4 was there 17 minutes by the time we had finished and all they had we drinks (water and lemonade). Everyone working seemed to be overwhelmed even though only 4 tables had diners. I guess we were fortunate not to go during a busy time. Lots of money spent on the gas station decor and menu had a paragraph pushing franchising opportunities. They better get this one right before they try to expand. read more

I would like to say, that since I had discovered this place a year ago, I have been there several times and every time I have dropped over 40 to 50 bucks for a couple of burgers french fries and sodas. I don't mind paying for something that is worth it. I frequent restaurants such as Ruth Chris and 3 forks often. However, I was there yesterday early afternoon and I have been telling my wife about this place, so I take her along. We decide that we were going to split a burger, I think the school bus. Our waitress notifies me that there was a 3 dollar charge for plate sharing on top of the cost of the 15 dollar burger I just ordered. I don't know about you, but this just sounds like pure greed at this point. Now if an establishment like Ruth Chris don't charge for a plate share, why would this burger joint ever do so. We were brutally disappointed with our first trip to Obi's this morning for breakfast. Although the restaurant was less than half full, it took more than ten minutes to get water and coffee. We had ordered corned beef hash with poached eggs, home fries w/sour dough toast and pancakes, layered with peanut butter and bananas and sausages, served with maple syrup. We asked our waitress if we could see their lunch and dinner menu, and although she said "yes," she never brought them. During our 35-40 minute wait for our breakfast, the waitress only refreshed the coffee once, and never offered more water, despite an empty glass. At about 35 minutes into our wait for our meals, our waitress advised us that they were just waiting on the poached eggs! About 5 minutes later, she appeared with the meals - with no poached eggs. They came a few minutes later. And, for some bizarre reason, our bill had a $0.25 charge for poached eggs. The sourdough was neither toasted nor buttered. The pancake had only a hint of peanut butter and seven slices of banana, and was served with pancake syrup rather than maple syrup. The restaurant did give us a discount for the delay, and the food was okay, but despite that, we won't be going back. read more

If there was a 0 star rating I would have used it. Absolutely the worst burger I have ever had. I ordered two burgers to go with some onion rings. The total came to over 30 dollars. Now if the food had been even remotely good the price would have been slightly more justified but even then almost 40 dollars for a couple of burgers and a side is outrageous. The burgers were not even close to a 1/4 pound and 1/2 pound as the menu described. My mom's was literally the size of a Krystal burger. My 1/2 pound burger was not much bigger. The meat was dry, both ordered medium well and were charred to the point we had to peel off the burnt portions. I had the school bus which comes with two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. This attempt at a grilled cheese was some slices of bread that were not even toasted with a little drop of cold type cheese whiz that was smeared onto the bread. The fries were cold and greasy and covered in salt. Obviously were not cooked within the past hour. I truly can't begin to describe just how bad this food was. I wish I was the type of person that has no problem going back and just dropping it on the counter for the owner to see what his employees are serving to the customers. I have lived in this town for 25 years and have never had an experience like I just had with ordering food. Unbelievable, to put such a lack of pride into what you put out to the public.
